The man with a right heart

“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

As we begin a new month today, may your heart be right before God. When God sent Samuel to the house of Jesse to anoint a man to take the place of Saul, He was looking for a man with a right heart. God found the right heart in David. Eliab had the stature and the countenance, but he failed at heart. He was too proud for God to use. The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. God always looks for a humble heart. Even Saul was chosen because he had a humble heart and when he became proud he was rejected. The best of God is for those who are willing to submit in humility to God.

“Samuel said, "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.” 1 Samuel 15:17

“And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?” Luke 17:17.

In addition to a humble heart, God also prefers those who are grateful at heart. Jesus asked about the other ungrateful nine lepers when only one showed up with gratitude. Paul admonished us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks in all circumstances because it is God's will for us in Christ Jesus. If you are always concentrating on the negative, you will not be able to see the good things God has done for you. This is dangerous because it will give you a sad heart and an ungrateful heart. God prefers a humble and grateful heart whenever He wants to lift a man.

May you be lifted by God this month in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me a right heart and renew a right spirit within me in Jesus name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Answer in times of trouble

“So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.” Isaiah 28:16 (NIV)

God is your answer in times of trouble. God is tested and proven to be reliable. Do not be hasty in His presence. In any situation, learn to come alone into God’s presence, switch off your phones, don’t let your mind wander around, be focused on Him, talk to Him as a person close to you, and expect a miracle. If you do this, one, two, or all of these will happen: If you need protection or security, you will have it; if you need direction, you will receive it; and if you need a favor, you will access it. If you have any of these, your trouble is defeated.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3

Can you imagine that you suddenly find yourself in a situation where you have to pay a bill you cannot afford? If you have someone who has committed to paying any bill you incur no matter the amount, you will not panic, if the person can be trusted. God is unlimited in resources, in power, and in space. His hands reach everywhere and He has promised to be there for you.

May you experience God now and always in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God arise and help me, in Jesus name.

Fear the Lord

“And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Job 28:28

I speak to you about the fear of the Lord as reverence of His personality and His glory. This is the prerequisite to carrying His presence, which is the greatest blessing a man can experience on earth. Joseph said to Potiphar’s wife, “how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” The strength of your character is determined by your fear of the Lord. What do you do when no man is watching? What do you do in secret? How would men describe you and your character? You cannot fear the Lord and do wickedness. The fear of the Lord will not allow you to be visited with evil.

“The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.” Proverbs 19:23

“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” Proverbs 14:27

I don’t really care to know how financially rich you are, if you don’t have the fear of the Lord you are poor and at the same time a fool. You are in danger of the snare of death. Even as a slave in Potiphar’s house, Joseph was said to be prosperous because he feared the Lord and the presence of the Lord was with him. If you fear the Lord, you will love righteousness and depart from iniquity. This will attract the anointing of God upon your life. It is the beginning of wisdom.

May you walk in the fear of the Lord in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to reverence you with my life in Jesus name.

Step up your spiritual height

“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.” Revelation 4:1

You need a change of spiritual level to experience great and mighty things, which you did not know. It is your responsibility to step up and take a new spiritual level. You must change your level of spiritual inputs to experience a new level of outputs, physically and spiritually. Physical breakthroughs are preceded by spiritual breakthroughs. Hear the word of the Lord, come up here so that you can see and experience new and greater things in your life through the working of my power.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Now the first thing you need is an accurate assessment of your spiritual levels. Do you fellowship with God regularly? How often do you fast, pray, and study God’s word? What is your input on God’s work? Do you evangelize, give, and engage in helping others? Is your obedience partial or total? Do you hear God regularly? What is your faith level? What is your level of anointing? After doing this, you must take action to step up. Increase your investment of time and energy in the aforementioned areas. If you do, you will position yourself to have greater testimonies of the manifestation of God in every area of your life.

May you ascend a greater height in God, in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me a passion for spiritual growth, do not let me be comfortable until I have made conscious efforts to grow spiritually in Jesus name.

Resist the devil

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

You can resist the devil! The devil is the author of confusion. He is a thief; his primary assignments are to kill, steal, and destroy. However, he does not do this anywhere and to everyone. Not because he does not want to but because the people know how to resist him to flee. You can also make your life and territory a forbidden area for the devil by submitting to God and resisting the devil.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

“And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:6

Three things are important here. The first is total submission to God. You cannot serve the living God and any other at the same time, and you should not keep the devil’s property in or around you. The second is that you should walk in obedience at all costs. The third is that you should tell the devil to leave you and your territory alone.

May your territory be free from demonic invasion in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I resist the devil and command him to flee in Jesus name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want

Fight ignorance

“And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12:47-48

Fight both spiritual and physical ignorance with all your strength. One of our greatest enemies is ignorance. Ignorance and rejection of knowledge are sources of foolishness. What actually destroys a man is what he does not know or his choice not to make use of the truth he knows. What is easy to do is also easy not to do. God said in Hosea 4:6 that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Jesus said in John 8:32 that you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Jesus came as a light to this world. If you actually know Jesus and you do what He tells you, you will not have any problem dealing with sin, sickness, and satan.

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:5

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” Matthew 7:24

Whenever you are afraid, there is something you don’t know. Whenever you are struggling, there is something you don’t know. If the enemy seems to be defeating you, there is something you don’t know. Now you don’t need to know everything but you need to know what you need to know. What do you do? Study the word of God for revelation purposes. Listen to people who have done what you want to do. Don’t only go to church to dance, listen to the message, and go home with a word to work with. Read books that are relevant to what you are looking for. Always come out with an action plan from any information you have gathered. Do the plan.

May every form of ignorance be terminated in your life in Jesus name.

Prayer for today : Oh God, help me to know what I need to know to fulfill my destiny in Jesus name.

Revelation knowledge

“And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.” Isaiah 29:11-12

Knowledge gives boldness, and boldness is needed for exploits. Boldness is needed at both the good times and the bad times. There are two kinds of knowledge: intellectual and revelation. Both are important and are sources of boldness. However, many things that confront us are beyond intellectual knowledge, they need revelation knowledge. No matter how intellectually sound you are, you must spend time with God to get revelation knowledge. Revelation knowledge does not depend on whether you are learned or not, but on your hunger for God and intimacy with Him.

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” Daniel 6:10

“And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.” Exodus 5:1

Intellectual knowledge has increased greatly in the world today. The result is that many are not interested in the knowledge that only God can give. However, this world cannot do without God. When Moses tried to save Israel with the intellectual knowledge that he got from the University of Egypt, he failed, but when he had an encounter with God, the story changed. Daniel was a combination of both intellectual and revelation knowledge and he was able to dominate in the world of his time.

As you spend time with God, may you have access to revelation knowledge that will give you boldness at all times in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to spend time daily with you so that I will be bold to handle every situation that comes to me in Jesus name.

Get ready

“Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” Jude 1:9

Get ready for the move of God in your life. The devil will definitely want to contend for your life and destiny, but you can rebuke him. He knows that you are a threat to his activities in this world. The only way to beat him is to organize your affairs and be confident in your relationship with God. He likes to operate where there is disorder, fear, and disobedience to God.  Do not give him any room.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

“And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:6

Separate yourself from the iniquity of your father’s house using the blood of Jesus. Destroy any contrary covenant or curses that might be in operation in your lineage using the blood of Jesus. Tell the devil he has no legal right over your life anymore and put him where he belongs. He is under your feet. Consecrate your life fully unto God and prepare yourself as His instrument in this world.

May God dwell in you and pour His glory into you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I consecrate my body, my soul and my spirit unto God in Jesus name.

Retreat to advance!

“And when David enquired of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.” 2 Samuel 5:23

One of the secrets of champions is that they know when to retreat and when to advance. As a believer, you must learn to retreat to conquer and advance. The time of retreat is when you wait on the Lord to renew your strength. It is the time you receive fresh light and fresh fire for new destiny conquest. This was the secret of David, he knew how to retreat to conquer. When his father threw him into the busy, he converted it to retreat. He perfected his shepherd skill, his sling and stone skills, his harp skills, and his ability to trust in the Lord. He came out of his retreat to kill Goliath.

“Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.” 1 Samuel 16:18

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

A retreat is not only about praying and fasting. You can meditate on God’s word to know Him more and increase your faith. You can go back to the classroom to learn new skills to advance your career and financial life. You can read new books and watch new videos for personal development. You can seek God for direction and strategy for your goals and vision.

May you know the time to retreat and the time to advance in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me the grace to retreat in order to advance in Jesus name.

Be determined!

“If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?.” Jeremiah 12:5

Do not surrender your dreams to any challenge whether small or big. Be ready to contend with both the men on foot and the men on horses. Be willing to go and grow above weariness. Look inward for God's deposit, look sideward for God-allocated helpers, and look upward for divine empowerment.  Be willing to cross the Jordan when it overflows and to go through the mountain no matter how wide or tall. You shall get there in Jesus name.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

Position yourself for the acquisition of knowledge and impartation of grace. If your vision is worthwhile and your personality is important, you will surely be challenged. Make up your mind that you shall get to your destination and trust God all the way. It does not matter how things are looking now, God is working things out for you. You have an unbeatable combination with God, be resolute and build your resilience.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me the strength to cross the sea, subdue the mountains and to get to my destination in Jesus name.

Look forward

“And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

Faith does not look backward, look forward. When you have decided on your destination, do not look back until you get there. Go for your goal with all your heart and your strength. If you keep looking back, you will soon find a way to go there. If you keep on looking for a reason why you should quit, you will soon find one. Discouragement may come in the way, encourage yourself and cry unto God to help you. Nevertheless, never look back, the trophy is in front of you.

“And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.” Hebrews 11:15

“But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” Genesis 19:26

The direction of your “looking” has the power to tell your mind what it should do because your eyes is a major gate to your mind. Whatever has entered your mind has entered your life. If you keep your eyes on the goal, your mind will create the path to get you there. That is why you should not look back. Jesus said no one that looks back is fit to get to the destination.

May you find the winning path to your destination in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I will accomplish my goals this year in Jesus name.

Not satisfied yet!

“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3

If heaven is your goal, you must desire more of God and His Spirit daily. You must not reach a status of spiritual satisfaction while you are in this world; you must hunger for more. More of His word. More of His Spirit. More of His wisdom. More of His grace. More of His power. More of His favor. Remain poor in the spirit to make room for more spiritual blessings. If you make room, God will keep on pouring into you.

“And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.” 2 Kings 4:6

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” John 7:37

To demonstrate that you need more, the first step is to make fellowship with God first in your daily life. Do not be satisfied each day, unless you are convincingly convinced that you carry the presence of God’s Spirit. Secondly, you must obey God in all things. Attend attentively to God’s instruction to you. Thirdly, keep on asking for the fullness of His Spirit and His wisdom to handle each day. You cannot have God and not prevail over the world and its wickedness.

May you experience God daily in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, fill me daily with your wisdom and power in Jesus name.

Walk in the covenant

“And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.” Malachi 3:17-18

The covenant is your unfailing security in this perilous time. The covenant is the seal of God's ownership over your life. If you are faithful and walk in the covenant, you cannot be shaken by anything in this world. This is a new covenant sealed by the blood of Jesus. Satan, his kingdom, and endtime tragedy cannot swallow you, if you walk in the covenant. Your basic responsibility in the covenant is to obey God’s word and walk in His ways. Be sacrificial, be committed, and be faithful to God and His instruction for your life. Grace is available within the covenant. Spend time with God’s word and in fellowship to know daily His voice for your life.

“And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:24

“Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.” Psalms 50:5

If you understand and walk in the covenant, God will be your true source, provider, and security. This means you cannot afford to be stingy towards God and His word with your time and your substances. You cannot live in iniquity. Definitely, your commitment to the covenant is the evidence that you have dedicated yourself to Him and no enemy can violate you even in this perilous time.

May you find the grace to walk in His ways in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me the grace to walk committedly in the covenant in Jesus name.

Christian growth 3

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2

Christian growth comes by feeding on the word of God. Christian growth is a result of a strong desire. You must sincerely desire the word and feed on the word, then growth becomes natural. The word will build you up both in grace and in faith. As your meal of the word changes from milk to solid, you grow and become mature so that your senses are exercised to discern both good and evil.

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” Acts 20:32

“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:13-14

You must grow to become effective as a Christian. Do not be satisfied no matter your state of Christianity. God has more for you. Apart from this, it is unhealthy spiritually not to grow. Hell does not want you to grow, do not cooperate with her. Your spiritual inheritance depends on your growth.

May you grow as a Christian in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me a strong desire for Your word in Jesus name.

Christian growth 2

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

Christian growth is a growth in grace, faith, peace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. One key truth is that if you grow in the revelation knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, you will also grow in grace, in faith and in peace. We become all things the Lord wants us to be through His grace. We stay victorious in this wild world through faith in Him. We enjoy the peace that passes all understanding as we grow in the knowledge of Him.

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;” Romans 12:6

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” 2 Peter 1:2-3

Desire to know the Lord the more if you really want to grow as a Christian. You need beyond what flesh and blood can reveal about Him, but what the Father through the Holy Spirit reveals. Study the Gospels and the book of Acts, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Him to you, and your Christian life shall never remain the same.

May you grow in grace, in faith, in peace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, reveal Jesus to me deeper everyday in Jesus name.

Christian growth 1

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

Christian service is one of the indicators of Christian growth. As a Christian, you are expected to move from attending church regularly to getting involved. You need to first become a worker and then grow to become a Minister. After becoming a Minister, you need to find your place in the fivefold ministry. This is the kind of growth that will help us to take the world for Jesus. You must grow from being a fisherman to a fisher of men as you follow Jesus.

“For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:” Romans 12:4

“And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.” Matthew 25:20

As a committed member of a church, there is a place of service for you. If you are not growing, you cannot be committed. If you are not committed, you cannot serve. If you are not serving then your confession of Christianity is unprofitable to the Lord. As an indication of our growth, we must be involved in service by putting our talents to use.

May you grow in His service in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, make me Your practical instrument fit for use in Jesus name.

Help in trouble time

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Psalm 50:15

Help in trouble time is a call to the Lord away. It is possible for you to have a man you can call, but put your call through to the Lord first and never give His place to any man in your life. The help and the faith you need are available in the Lord, even though He will use men. If you reach out to the Lord, He will reach out to you and you cannot be put to shame. However, you must come boldly, if there is any sin in your life, repent and accept His love in forgiveness.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

The Lord is a sure deliverer in times of trouble, for every child of His. He is only glorified when we overcome and not when we are defeated. If your help comes from Him, it is sustainable and will bring joy to your soul. Perhaps your faith is weak, ask Him to help your unbelief and give you faith.

May you receive timely help in Jesus name.

The valley of dry bones

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.” Ezekiel 37:10

What Ezekiel called the valley of dry bones, to God, was a valley of an exceeding great army. However, for this to become a reality for Ezekiel, he had to hear what God is saying, say what God is saying, and do what God is saying. You don’t really know the reality of your situation until you know what God is saying. What you are calling financial struggle is actually an opportunity for financial lifting if only you can hear what God is saying, say it, and do it.

“And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.” John 2:10

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” Luke 5:5-6

The wine that finished at the Marriage of Cana of Galilee turned out to be an opportunity for the best wine when some people heard God and did what He said. Peter got a far better result than any of his best past experiences of harvest in fishing, when he heard God on a day he thought he had failed. I don’t know what you are going through, but I pray for you to hear God. And when you do, may you say what He is saying and do what He is saying in Jesus name.

May your dry bones rise again in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, raise an exceeding great army out of my dry bones in Jesus name.

The spiritual experience of Ezekiel

Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.” Ezekiel 1:1

Ezekiel had four distinct experiences that put him in the ministry. The first experience was that the heavens were opened. This experience led to three other experiences that included the visions of God, the word of the Lord coming to him, and the hand of the Lord upon him. These experiences are similar to what Jesus experienced after His baptism in Jordan. I believe that every endtime believer should have similar experiences in order to fulfill their spiritual destinies in such a time like this.

“The word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him.” Ezekiel 1:3

“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17

My question to you this morning is, are heavens open over your life. You cannot operate under closed heavens. This is because if the heavens are closed, you cannot see the visions of God, the word of the Lord cannot come to you, and the hand of the Lord cannot be upon you. These can lead to a dry Christian life. Ask that the heavens be opened over your life.

May you operate under open heavens in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, open the heavens over my life and my destiny in Jesus name.

Do not stop learning

Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.” Matthew 13:52

Learning is a daily action. Learning is your conscious action for your personal empowerment. Learning is your source for winning wisdom. You cannot stop learning. If you do, you stop growing. Adequate learning puts you in charge and enables you to solve problems. Any time you are faced with hard issues, there is something you need to know. Learning is your key to solving the issue. Learning can be formal and informal. Leaning opportunities abound around us. Choose to consciously learn every day, it is one of the keys to securing your future.

“Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.” Philippians 4:9

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:” Proverbs 6:6

The result of learning is an easier and better life, although learning itself may not be easy. Choose your teacher because the quality of your learning depends on the quality of your teacher. Learn from the Lord through meditation on the scriptures and the Holy Spirit. This is your key to a fruitful life. Learn from a wise so that you will be wise and from the fool, so that you will not become a fool. Learn from whosoever has done what you want to do, this is called mentoring. It is your key to becoming a master of a skill, a business, or an endeavor.

May you be given to learning continually in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God teach me to profit and lead me by the way I should go in Jesus name.

Make each day count

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

If you make each day count, your entire life will count. It does not matter how big your goal or your vision is, if you do something about it daily you will conquer it. You can eat and finish an elephant, if you are taking it piece by piece. Breaking your activities into steps and dealing with each step at a time can help you finish a giant project on time. Someone said you could always divide the project (the vision) into smaller ones and conquer them.

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23

“Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.” Exodus 16:4

Winning in life is a daily affair. Personal development is a daily affair. Breakthrough is a daily affair. In order to handle a lifetime well, you only have to learn to handle a day well.  Sit down, think, pray, and decide what you must do daily in order to achieve your goals.

May you experience success daily in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God give me the wisdom to handle every day of my life successfully in Jesus name.

All things are subject to change

“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,” 2 Kings 20:1-2

Nothing is final until you accept it to be final. All things are subject to change. Hezekiah was sick unto death, physically speaking, it was clear he was going to die. On top of that, a “confirmed” Prophet as some people would say today came and spoke by the word of the Lord that he was going to die. So physically and spiritually speaking, he was going to die, but he rejected death. He prayed and asked for an extension of his years on earth. He got a new message from the same prophet even before the prophet got out of the palace.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Cor 4:18 (NIV)

“Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.” Isaiah 45:11

Beloved, I don’t care to know who gave the message, whether an expert or a spiritual personality, until you accept it, it cannot come to pass in your life. Learn to accept what you want and reject what you do not want on your knee. However, please pray until you receive a new message or until you believe your story has changed.

I decree that change is coming to every unwanted situation in your life in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God arise, let my story change in Jesus name.

You need these to live

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

You need three things to live, food, word, and faith. You need good and healthy food to keep your body strong and healthy. If you can eat wisely, you will live long. However, for you to live successfully, you need word and faith. You need positive, inspirational, challenging, and instructional words to succeed in life. You need faith to act on those words to produce results.

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” John 15:14

The Bible is a potent source of your daily need for the word and consequently, your faith needs. The Bible will tell you what to do to be successful and to have victory in life. Also, answers to specific questions of life can be found in the book written by men. Someone suggested that if you read the right book for 30 minutes every day with total concentration, you can change your life, I agree.

May you live and not die in Jesus name in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, open my eyes to see what is being said to me in Jesus name (Habakkuk 2:1.)

The disobedience of Saul

“And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22

In your relationship with the Lord, NOTHING can take the place of obedience. You can only get the best from the Lord if you walk in obedience to Him. The prerequisite to His blessings, His protection, and His seal upon your life is obedience. Do whatever He wants you to do. Stay wherever He wants you to stay and you will not have to worry about what others worry about.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:23

“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.” Job 36:11

Half obedience is disobedience. Saul was told to annihilate the Amalekites including the animals. He spared Agag, the king, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them. His argument was that he wanted to sacrifice them unto the Lord. No sacrifice can take the place of obedience to the Lord. He lost the throne.

May you not lose what God has given you to disobedience in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me the grace to obey you at all times in Jesus name.

The confidence of David

“Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.” 1 Samuel 17:36

Do not neglect past victories if you want confidence to handle your new and current challenges. David remembered what God did in the past to build the confidence to confront and kill Goliath. Nobody knew when he killed the bear and the Lion. However, when he shared the testimony with Saul, Saul also believed David could do it and was willing to risk the whole army of Israel on the young and inexperienced boy.

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.” Hebrews 10:35

“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10

Beloved, your confidence is very crucial to your victory right now. If you can remember what God has done in the past, then you can be sure He can do it again and believe Him. Even if what you are facing right now is a bigger challenge. If you have a testimony, then you can prophesy about your future.

May you use your past testimonies to build your confidence in God in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, do again what You have done for me in the past in Jesus name.

The prayer of Jacob

“And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.” Genesis 32:26

The blessing of God will make a difference in your life at all times and in all situations. The blessing of God will produce life in you, empower you to succeed, and give you favor in the sight of your enemy. Perhaps, you are going through tough times right now, ask God to bless you. Jacob was faced with the difficult situation of confronting Esau whom he supplanted. Esau was coming against him with four hundred soldiers. However, he prevailed in prayer asking God to bless him. Consequently, Esau received him well.

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10

“How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied?” Numbers 23:8

The blessing of God will swallow all curses and bring increase and enlargement to you. You must ask God to bless you and walk in obedience to His covenant to attract His blessing. A deceiver cannot be blessed. A wicked man cannot be blessed. A disobedient cannot be blessed. Ask God to reveal to you what may hinder His blessing in your life.

You are blessed in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, bless me indeed and enlarge my coast in Jesus name.

God holds the future

“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:” Job 19:25-26

God holds the future, you would not need to worry about the future if you know Him and walk with Him. You may not understand what you are going through right now and why, this same God understands. If you walk with Him, He will turn everything around for your good. In the midst of his trial, Job affirmed that God was his redeemer. This gave him the confidence that he would recover and he eventually did. You too shall surely recover if you hold unto God who holds the future.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” 2 Timothy 1:1222

Despite whatever challenges you have, God has thought of peace towards you and He cannot mismanage your destiny. Commit yourself afresh unto Him and declare your trust in Him. Spend time in His word and be attentive to His voice. Worship Him and ask Him to His favor and wisdom on you. Ask Him to guide you into the better future that He has for you.

Your test shall turn into testimony in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, show me the beautiful future that you have for me and take me there in Jesus name.

Put your foot inside the water

“And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.” Joshua 3:13

God shall stop what wants to stop you if you are determined to go forward. The only way is the forward way, even if there is the Jordan or Jericho wall ahead of you. You must move forward and trust God to deal with the barriers. Dare to put your foot forward for definite progress against the opposition. God gave you the vision, no opposition can stop you.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:” Exodus 14:15

“Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.” Isaiah 54:15

God has answers for human oppositions, He will scatter them. God has answers for both physical and spiritual oppositions He will subdue them. However, put your foot inside the water for it to be divided. Ask God to give you the wisdom to know what to do. Do whatever He tells you and expects a miracle.

The opposition shall give way in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, block those who want to block me and make a way for me in Jesus name.

Why sit here until we die?

“And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?” 2 kings 7:3

Analytical thinking resulting in a wise decision and corresponding action may be what you need to cause a radical change in the situation. Challenge your unwanted situation using the power of analytical thinking. The four lepers did not hear the prophecy that had gone ahead, declaring a miraculous change in the situation in Samaria. However, their thought and corresponding action were key to the fulfillment of the prophecy. They identified a fifty percent chance of survival in the camp of the enemy through analytical thinking and went for it. They said to themselves, why sit here until we die? They took a calculated risk and brought abundance to Samaria.

“If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.” 2 kings 7:4

“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee.” Luke 15:17-18

The Lepers got to the camp only to discover that the enemy had left. The origin of the scarcity had been dealt with, and abundance was now available. Similarly, the prodigal son made a decision to go back to his father using the power of analytical thinking. He was welcomed by his father into abundance again.

May you know what to do in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, lead me in the way I should go and teach me to make profit in Jesus name.

What is more risky?

“David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”” 1 Samuel 17:32

It is more risky not to take risks. Dare to take calculated risks trusting God all the way for a positive change in your life. God did not tell David to fight Goliath, but he knew that Goliath was challenging God, so he took the risk and removed the shame from Israel. He was conscious of the anointing of God upon His life, so he took the risk to defend the name of God.  Sometimes God will tell you to do something risky, if you obey and take the risk, you will enjoy supernatural results. If you disobey, it is more risky.

“And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.” Matthew 14:28-29

“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” Luke 19:13

Beloved, if you are a child of God, you have the anointing in you and on you. Take that risk. Solve that problem. Kill that Goliath confronting your workplace or your community. Start that business that has been in your mind for a long time. Don’t fold your hands, do something to bring a change to your life, and to your society. Don’t sit at home or waste your time waiting for a miracle to drop on your lap. Make a miracle happen by taking positive steps toward your dreams. Don’t give in to failure and defeats. It is your time to shine.

May you be empowered to take over in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me the heathen for my inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for my possession in Jesus name.

At the nick of time

“And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.” Acts 12:6-7

God will always respond to His children at the nick of time if they don’t give up. You cannot be put to shame if you put your trust in God. God can never be late. Peter’s deliverance came at the nick of time. The same night that Herod wanted to kill him, God sent an Angel to deliver him. Martha thought Jesus came too late, but the Lord came at the right time. Lazarus was brought back to life, sound and healthy.

“Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.” John 11:21

“And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.” Genesis 21:19

When Hagar thought that Ismael was going to die of thirst, God opened her eyes at the right time and there was the provision of an abundance of water. I see God giving you a miracle at the nick of time in Jesus name.

May you experience a timely miracle this month in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, show up in my situation in Jesus name.

Your horn shall be exalted

“But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.” Psalms 92:10

Your horn refers to your strength, your physical status, and your spiritual status. Just as a unicorn is known by its horn, everyone’s personality is described by his horn. Your horn must be exalted above the horns that are against your lifting. Chapter one of the book of Zechariah revealed scattering horns that must be frayed for the heads of the people of God to be lifted up. These represent contrary authorities that resist the exaltation of the horn of men.

“Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.” Zechariah 1:21

“But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.” Psalms 89:24

When the Lord exalts your horn, your victory over the adversary is guaranteed. If you are convinced of the faithfulness and the mercy of God in your life, you can ask that your horn be exalted in Jesus name. Perhaps you are confronted by an enemy that is stronger than you, ask the Lord to exalt your horn and anoint you with fresh oil.

May your horn be exalted in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let my horn be exalted like the horn of a unicorn and let me be anointed with fresh oil in Jesus name.
