Staying positive in a troubled time

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;.” 2 Timothy 3:14

The word of God shall sustain you in troubled times. Turning to the Word of God that you have learned rather than to the world when you are passing through a troubled time is of the utmost importance. The world will fail you, but the Word of God cannot fail you. One of the assurances that you have from the Word of God is that the troubled time will pass and you will be standing in victory.

“But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.” Matthew 14:30-32

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” Matthew 7:24

If you hold the Word, or the Word holds you, you can walk on water. If you abide by the Word, and the Word abides in you, you remain unshakable. At least get a word and trust the word. The Word has the power to make you a god over your challenges. The Word revealed is your victory key in troubled times. Think the Word, speak the Word, and do the Word; then you can stay positive and expect an end to your time of trouble.

May you be sustained by the Word in a troubled time in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me a timely word at such a time as this in Jesus name (Psalm 107:20).

God can change times and seasons

“Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” Daniel 2:20-21

I have a word of encouragement for someone who is going through a tough time and a hard season: There shall be a change of season and time for you in Jesus name. Times can change; seasons also do. God can change times and seasons, He can create a time within times and a season within seasons. He can create plenty in the midst of famine and abundance in the midst of scarcity. It does not matter what is happening in the world, He can create your own world for you in the midst of the world.

“For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Malachi 3:6

“If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” Job 14:14

God is an unchangeable changer. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This means what He did in Bible days, He still do today. What He did for one person, He will do for another. If you believe this you will be convinced that the tough time and the hard season shall soon change.  If you can hold unto God, He will bring a change to your time and season.

May you receive the change you desire in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, heal me, I shall be healed; save me, I shall be saved; bless me, I shall be blessed in Jesus name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Use what you have received

“For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.” Luke 19:26

Yesterday, I shared with us that how we hear can determine whether we will be on the right side of life or not. Another factor is what we do with what we have received (Luke 19:11-26). There is nothing a man has that he has not been given. You must use wisely what you have received and multiply it to receive more. Everyone has been given at least a talent, a gift, or a seed.  If you bury your talent, life will not be fair to you. If you hide your gift, you will not be rewarded. If you eat your seed, you forfeit your harvest. Now hear this: what will change your life is already in your life; it has been given to you.

“John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.” John 3:27

“A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16

You must discover, develop, and use your talent for you to move to the positive side of life. Stop looking at what others have that you don’t have. Stop complaining about your situation. You can be excited that you have something that can change your life. If you look inward, you will discover that what looks insignificant is actually the instrument of your miracle (2 Kings 4:1-7).

May you receive the wisdom to use what you have in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, do not let me neglect what I have received to change my life in Jesus name.

How you hear matters

“Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.” Luke 8:18

Jesus said whoever has, to him shall be given more; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him. This sounds so unfair. Life, indeed, is not fair, but how you hear can make a difference. How you hear can put you either on the positive side of life or on the negative side. How you hear or receive information can make or mar you. How you hear can either breed faith or fear in you. If you can hear correctly, you can influence life in your favor.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” James 1:19

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

Rahab said to the spies in Joshua 2:11, “And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you....” Don’t allow any information to create fear in you. Take positive, fearless, and faithful actions based on the information, but don’t let fear grip you. Most importantly, be swift to hear faith-building, spirit-strengthening words. This is what you need to be on the winning side of life. If you give yourself to hearing God's word, you cannot be on the wrong side of life.

May you hear correctly in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, open my ears to hear you in Jesus name.

Keep your heart cheerful

"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." Proverbs 17:22

You need a cheerful heart for both a healthy life and a motivated life. A cheerful heart is the best medicine for your body, soul, and spirit. Fortunately, you don’t need money to buy this medicine. However, you need discipline and the help of the Holy Spirit to keep a cheerful heart when your physical situation is not looking good. Stop complaining and murmuring; in all things, give thanks. Never allow anything to break your spirit. Do not allow things, situations, and circumstances to determine the state of your heart. Take charge of the gate of your heart (Prov 4:23). Let your thanksgiving be more than your prayer request.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Romans 14:17.

If you desire to keep your heart cheerful, you must pray for everything and worry about nothing. Secondly, you must be content with what you have; never worry about what you don’t have. Pray about it, find out what it takes to have it and do it, but never allow it to take away the joy in your heart. Thirdly, you must believe that God is at work in your life. Don’t be afraid, only believe. God is faithful, and will not allow you to go down (Psalm 34:19, Prov 24:16). Fourthly Give thanks in all situations. For him, who is joined to the living, there is hope; for a living dog is better than a dead lion. Lastly, if anyone has offended you, forgive and release the person.

There is joy in your heart in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, fill my heart with the joy of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

When God is involved in your matter

“And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.” Exodus 2:24-25

When God is involved in your matter, the result is a miracle. Perhaps, the only way out of your predicament right now is a miracle, look up to God. Miracles are from God, don’t look somewhere else. Keep on trusting God, no matter your situation. Keep on praying, even if it is hard for you to believe. Keep on confessing the word, even if your situation does not look like it. Keep on sowing your seed, even if you think it is small. This is because God’s response shall give you a miracle.

“They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.” Psalm 34:5

“And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.” Acts 12:6-7

When something precious has been seized by a stronger or higher power, you need God’s involvement to secure the release. The deliverance of Israel was a miracle. The deliverance of Peter was a miracle. Your covenant with God is your guarantee of His intervention. Your commitment to God is the key to involving Him in your matter. Your obedience to Him is your security against the tough times. Your trust in Him is your power to move Him. Your continuous prayer is an indication that you trust Him and that you are looking up to Him.  You shall not be ashamed.

I see God taking over your matter in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God arise, intervene in my situation, and do not let me be put to shame in Jesus name.

Let the fire fall

“And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.” 2 Kings 1:10

Are you surrounded by adversaries that are stronger than you? Declare, if I be a child of God, let the fire fall. The fire of the Holy Ghost is your current weapon to win current and previous spiritual battles. When your spiritual eyes are blurred and your spiritual ears are dull, use the fire of the Holy Ghost. When the enemies are ravaging your territory and it seems you are stranded, use the fire. Fire has a double effect on a believer. It brings deliverance to a believer, but judgement to his enemy. The fire is what you need to leave spiritual coldness and ascend to the spiritual authority needed to be on top of your situation. The fire is what you need to bring to an end to your health affliction and your bondage.

“Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:12

“He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Daniel 3:25

A simple declaration like this, “Holy Ghost fire fall upon me now,” can bring deliverance to you and judgement to your enemy.  Particularly in this season when spiritual lukewarmness has set in and the enemy wants to take advantage and bring affliction. It is time to call in the fire, burn the chaff, destroy the chains, subdue the adversary, and go forward.

May the fire of the Holy Spirit fall in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Holy Ghost fire fall upon for my sake in Jesus name.

Self-mastery

“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” Proverbs 16:32

Most people learn, but only a few people do.  Self-mastery is what separates the few from the crowd. Self-mastery is what makes you do what you have learned, what you have heard, and what you have read. It is one thing to know what to do; it is another thing to actually do it. Self-mastery is doing what you are supposed to do, whether it is convenient or not. Self-mastery is key to destiny fulfillment. You need to master yourself to live successfully as a Christian.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22

“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” Proverbs 25:28

What God has said concerning you is more important than what you are going through. It takes self-mastery, not to be moved by what you can see, but by the word of God. It takes self-mastery to declare that you are healed when you are sick. It takes self-mastery to be in charge of your life and not allow the flesh to control you. Self-mastery is a fruit of the spirit called self-control.

May you be able to master yourself in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me the grace to control myself and to live by Your word in Jesus name.

How do you see people?

“And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.” Mark 8:24

You are blessed when people that are committed to you surround you. People are not trees. If you are seeing people as trees, you need a touch from God. Everything you are looking for is in the hands of a person sent to you by God. The physical status of a person does not matter when he or she is an instrument in the hand of God for your destiny. If you cannot see or perceive such a person correctly, you may miss your season. On the other hand, how do you see yourself? If you cannot see yourself correctly, you may miss your destiny.

“And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.” 2 kings 4:9

“For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.” Job 14:7

Don’t look down on people, no matter who they are. Don’t look down on yourself no matter what you are going through. If there is hope for a tree, there is hope for everyone. The day the prodigal realized that he was better than what his situation looked like, his change began (Luke 15:17). The day Naaman listened to his slave-maid from Israel, his miracle began (2 Kings 5:3). The day the Shunamite woman perceived Elisha as a man of God, her barrenness received quit notice. If you can see men for their assignment in your life, your life can never remain the same.

May you see people correctly in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me the grace to perceive the people you have sent to me in Jesus name.

Give love a chance

“No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” 1 John 4:12

Where there is love, there is God. Where there is no love, satan has conquered. Perfect love casts out fear, so love has the power to send evil away. If we walk in love, then we have conquered the enemy. If we give love a chance, we have given God a chance. To give love a chance is to do to others what you expect them to do to you (Mt 7:12), and to love others as you do yourself (Mk 12:31). The implication of this is that you should be your brother’s keeper and help those in need. You should not originate or distribute lies. You should not lie and say that you need help when you have enough, and you should not spread lies about others.

“If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?” James 2:15-16

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Cor 13:13 (NIV)

Someone wrote, “There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer: no disease that love will not heal: no door that enough love will not open...It makes no difference how deep set the trouble: how hopeless the outlook: how muddled the tangle: how great the mistake. A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all. If only you could love enough, you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world.

Beloved, if we love together, we conquer together; God is Love.

Prayer for today: Oh God, arise; plant the seed of your love in our hearts in Jesus name.

Dealing with gates and doors 2

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” Psalms 24:7

You need divine strategies to deal with ancient gates and doors that have never opened for anyone in your lineage. These are the barriers that hindered your ancestors from experiencing the fullness of God. These kinds of doors do not need intellectual or physical strength, but spiritual capacity.  If you held the necessary spiritual key, you would not struggle at these gates and doors. The truth is that, as a Christian, you don’t have to experience the limitations that are operating in your ancestral line.

“When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.” Acts 12:10

“I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron.” Isaiah 45:2

Ask God to reveal to you what to do to open these gates and doors. Engage scriptural strategies by asking God to help you, prophesying against the gates and the doors, praying through, using the prayer of agreement, and using sacrificial seeds. I decree major breakthroughs in every area of your life in Jesus name. If you are struggling at any gate, marriage, prosperity, academics, business, cities, or nations, receive a breakthrough in Jesus name.

May the gate of the city where you dwell open for you on its own accord in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: You ancient gates and everlasting doors shut against me, lift up your head in Jesus name.

Dealing with gates and doors 1

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Cor 16:9

Doors and gates are barriers to great treasures and important personalities that may be needed in your life. They must be unlocked for someone to have access. However, our text this morning says that it is possible for the door to be opened and yet access is not granted. This is because there are adversaries at the gates and the doors that must be subdued. These are the adversaries that cause failure at the edge of a breakthrough. I decree that such adversary shall be subdued before you in Jesus name.

“Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.” Matthew 12:29

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

God has given us power over the adversary so we can subdue the adversary and make use of the opened doors. You can deal with the adversaries and walk through the doors and gates open to you. Speak against the adversary.  Prophesy against the adversary. Exercise your authority over him and secure your breakthrough.

The adversary that has been hindering you is subdued in the name of Jesus.

Prayer for today: I bind the adversary, I subdue him and I possess my possessions in Jesus name.

Winning in the unseen realms 6

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13

The phrase, “quit you like men,” appears twice in the bible. First in 1 Samuel 4:9 and then in 1 Corinthians 16:13. Both scriptures are saying, fight like a strong man, don’t quit. There is an adage that says, “Winners don’t quit, quitters don’t win!” The statement is scripturally true. No matter what is up against you, don’t quit, but renew your strength in the Lord. Demons get tired (Matthew 12:43) but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).

“Be strong and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.” 1 Samuel 4:9

“If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?” Jeremiah 12:5

Men in their own strength may give up and fail. Men backed up by satan will fail (1 Kings 18). Even men with strength like lions can fail (Psalm 34:10). Those who draw their strength from the God of heaven and earth can never fail (Psalm 125). In trying times, don’t run from God, stay with God. Trust Him, keep the covenant, spend time with Him, and obey Him at all costs.

You shall surely win in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, renew my strength in Jesus name.

Winning in the unseen realms 5

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” Acts 13:2

I would like to emphasize the importance of ministering to the Lord and listening to the Holy Spirit as another powerful key to winning in the unseen realms.  Please, as a believer in Christ, keep the company of those who love to fellowship with the Lord and to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Don’t isolate yourself from the company of believers and don’t allow the enemy to isolate you. This kind of fellowship has been my source of help in challenging times.

“And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.” 2 Samuel 11:15

“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.” Genesis 22:16-18

The enemy does not fight you alone; he fights in a team and with a team. If you fight alone, you are finished. The fellowship of the fellow Christians and with the Holy Spirit is your sure help to win at all times. Uriah did not die because he was a weak fighter or because the battle was the hottest. He died because he was alone and did not have a backup. The Bible admonished us in Hebrews 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

May you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I refuse to isolate myself from the fellowship of believers in Jesus name.

Winning in the unseen realms 4

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm 51:17

Sacrificial giving will always provoke victory for you in unseen realms. God gave Jesus as a sacrificial lamb for the redemption of mankind. Abraham provoked God’s ultimate blessing when he offered Isaac as a sacrifice to God. Although God replaced Isaac with a lamb, He saw Abraham’s intention and accepted his sacrifice. In 2 Kings 3:27, the King of Moab offered his son as a sacrifice, and the battle turned away from him. You can always win in the unseen realm if you engage the power of sacrifice. The greatest sacrifice you can give to God is yourself.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

“And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:…….” Genesis 22:16-18

There are certain victories in life you cannot win if you live in disobedience to God. There are certain blessings you cannot receive if you withhold and eat what belongs to God. If your heart is broken and soft to obey God, you cannot be despised. Your sacrificial seed is your voice in the unseen realm to turn things in your favor.

May you become a living sacrifice unto God in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, take my life and let it be consecrated unto You in Jesus name.

Winning in the unseen realms 3

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee…..” Luke 4:14a

Every Christian can carry the power of the Spirit. Every Christian can be anointed and must be anointed. Jesus, as a son of man, was anointed of the Spirit. He had authority both in the seen and unseen realms. He instructed us to receive the anointing of the Spirit so that we could also operate in power.  The truth is that if you are anointed, you can boldly declare, “according to my word,” as Elijah did in 1 Kings 17. If you are anointed, you can decree a thing and it shall be established.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” Luke 4:18

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49

Hunger and thirst for the anointing of the Spirit. Tarry in God's presence until you are anointed. The anointing will give you dominion over both the seen and unseen realms. The anointing will give you authority over the host of wickedness that is against you. If you are anointed, you will always win in the unseen realm.

May you carry the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, anoint me with the Holy Spirit and power in Jesus name.

Winning in the unseen realms 2

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,…….” 1 Corinthians 13:1

Your tongue can activate life, it can also activate death. Specifically, speaking in the tongue that the Holy Spirit gives you can activate activities in the unseen realm to your favor. The Holy Spirit can give you a tongue that men can understand and He can give you a tongue that only Angels can understand. As a Christian, you must be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Prov 18:21

“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.” 1 Corinthians 14:14

There are things happening in the unseen realm, either for you or against you. Speaking in tongues is your spirit praying; you can influence the unseen realm and win both known and unknown battles by speaking in tongues. You may be going through a situation where your own language is limited in prayer. You can pray accurately about the situation by praying in tongues.

Your prayers are answered in Jesus name.

Winning in the unseen realms 1

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:13

There are two Actors for Christians in the unseen realms. They are the Holy Spirit and Angels. Both work where the Word is believed, spoken, and acted upon. In addition, persistence in prayer is key to engaging the Holy Spirit and Angels on issues confronting you. Daniel was persistent for twenty-one days until the Angel sent from heaven received support to break through. I believe when we pray and declare the word of God, we are winning in the unseen realm.

“For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.” Acts 27:23-24

“And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.” Acts 12:7

Angels are permitted to do some physical assignments. This is evident in both the new and old testaments. However, we do not pray to Angels. We pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. If the issue requires Angelic intervention, God will dispatch His Angels. When we pray and boldly declare the word of God, things are happening in the unseen realm. The result is a change of situation in the seen realm.

Your situation is changing for good in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me victory in every situation I am passing through in Jesus name.

All-round solution

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22

The word of God is the all-round solution to all human troubles and problems. The word of God heals. The word of God delivers. The word of God prospers. The word of God breaks curses and evil covenants. The word of God breaks the arms of wickedness. The word of God breaks yokes and destroys burdens. If you put the word in your heart, and speak the word with your mouth, you will experience the power of the word. If you act on the word in your heart, it will give you victory, and make you successful and prosperous.

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;” Romans 10:8

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

If you get the word into your heart, you will always know what to say and what to do. No matter what you are going through, sit with the word. If you have the revelation of God’s word over a particular situation, you become a god over it (John 10:35). Look for the word on healing if you need healing. Look for the word on prosperity if you need prosperity. Look for the word you need, fill your heart and your mind with it.

May you have the solution to all your challenges in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let Your word come to me in Jesus name.

Information is not enough

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 16:17

Information can change your life. However, information is not enough. You need a revelation. You cannot act on information until it becomes a personal revelation. Your change actually begins with acting on the information you have received. When your mind is renewed, you act differently because your perspective changes. Information plus meditation gives revelation. Information is mental; revelation is spiritual and profitable to your soul. What you are hearing cannot benefit you until you do something about it.

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

Perhaps your life is presently conforming to the poverty, affliction, and hardship of this world; ask God to give you a revelation. Meditate on God’s word. Listen and associate with people who have the testimony of a changed life through God (Psalm 1). Attending an information session with distraction is a waste of time; stop doing so in the church. If a book is relevant to your needs, read it many times until you get it into your soul and your spirit. Do the same with videos or audio that you have found important for the change you need.

May you hear what the Spirit is saying in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, open my understanding and give me a revelation that will change my life in Jesus name.

The Prayer of Jabez 5

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou ….. that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10

The fifth prayer request of Jabez was that he should not experience grief. Grief is an indication of sorrow. His name actually means sorrow, but he asked God to take his sorrow away. And God heard him. I decree no more sorrow in your life. Whatever has brought grief into your life shall end in Jesus name.  God shall turn your captivity and fill your mouth with laughter. The joy of the Lord shall fill your heart and renew your strength. The only enemy of your joy is satan (John 10:10). He is the source of our grief. But Jesus came to destroy his work (1 John 3:8). As you pray to God, may the source of your grief dry up in Jesus name.

“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.” Psalms 126:1-2

“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:11

You only need to get through to God in prayer to secure a change of story, just as Jabez did. I believe we are better positioned in the covenant than Jabez to receive a change of story in prayers. If we are confident, persistent, and full of expectations, we cannot be denied. I encourage you to turn your face to God and demand an end to your grief and sorrow.

May your life be free from grief in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let sorrow be far from me in Jesus name.

The Prayer of Jabez 4

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou ….. and that thou wouldest keep me from evil,, …….” 1 Chronicles 4:10

The fourth prayer request of Jabez was that God should keep him from evil. The Lord Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6:13, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Evil is poverty, failure, infirmities, affliction, yoke, bondage, and such.  Jabez asked God to keep him from evil and any form of its manifestation. He had seen enough of it. The good news was that God heard him. May the Lord keep you from all evil in Jesus name.

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:13

“The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.” Psalms 34:22

Jabez prayed this prayer under the old covenant, and God heard him. How much more for those of us under the new and better covenant sealed with the blood of Jesus. Our redemption has taken care of all evil that comes as a result of the evil covenants and curses that were against us (Galatians 3:13-14; Colossians 2:14-15). Never permit what God is not permitting in your life. Poverty, sickness, retrogression, failure at the edge of a breakthrough, and such must be rejected in the name of Jesus.

May you experience the power of deliverance from all forms of evil in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, keep me from evil in Jesus name.

The Prayer of Jabez 3

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou ….. and that thine hand might be with me, …….” 1 Chronicles 4:10

The third prayer request of Jabez was that the hand of God should be with him. The hand of God with you implies the presence of God with you. This is the secret of rest at any time. This is the secret of the supernatural life. The hand of God makes you walk in the supernatural of God and gives you access to God’s authority and power. If you are conscious of the hand of God upon your life, you can never be afraid, no matter the case. The hand of God breaks the arm of wickedness.

“And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” Exodus 33:14

“But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.” Luke 11:20

When the hand of God is upon you, you cannot fail, no matter your physical weakness and limitations. The hand of God will turn your life around and produce a glorious destiny, even if the situation looks hopeless. If you have tried and failed, pray until the hand of God is upon your life. Jabez did so, and he, who was a failure and downtrodden, became an honorable man in his generation.

May the hand of God be upon you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, Let your hand be upon me in Jesus name.

The Prayer of Jabez 2

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou ….. enlarge my coast, …….” 1 Chronicles 4:10

The second prayer of Jabez is a prayer of increase; he asked God to enlarge his coast. An increase is of God (1 Cor 3:6).  Specifically, enlargement and increase are results of God’s blessings (Deuteronomy 28:1-13). In Gen 1:28, God pronounced man blessed for him to increase and dominate the world. You cannot truly experience enlargement without God’s power at work in your life. You can pray for enlargement, as Jabez did, but you must also walk in obedience to God.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28

“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.” Job 8:7

The enlargement of your coast is all-encompassing. It means an increase in influence and affluence. It means an increase in capacity and capability. It means getting better daily. This can be geometrical or arithmetical. Life is not stagnant, so it is important for you to experience enlargement so that you can be at the top of life situations. At the time Jabez prayed the prayer, he was under the curse of smallness. However, God heard him, blessed him, and enlarged his coast.

May God enlarge your coast in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, bless me and increase me in every area of my life in Jesus name.

The Prayer of Jabez 1

“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.” 1 Chronicles 4:9

Jabez’s life did not start with honors, but with a curse. However, he became honorable after he prayed and God answered him. Jabez prayed, and his destiny took shape. God is not a respecter of persons, but He always respects faith; He will do for others what He has done for one. The first prayer of Jabez was, “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed.” This was similar to the prayer of Jacob in Genesis 32. I believe the beginning of a change of story for anyone is by receiving the blessing of God.

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10

“And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.” Genesis 32:26

No one can do without God’s blessing. The good news is that the blessing is part of our redemption package. The blessing is one of the promises of the Spirit, and as such, it must be received through faith. Pray through for the blessing (Luke 18:1-8). Declare yourself blessed until you see the manifestation (2 Cor 4:13). Walk with God and in obedience with Him (Job 36:11, Isaiah 1:19). In any case, be desperate like Jabez for the blessing of God in your life, you cannot do without it.

I pronounce you blessed in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God bless me indeed in Jesus name.

Don’t be powerless

“The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.” Psalm 110:2-3

As Christians, we must rule in the midst of our enemies, and that takes power. The table is set before us in the midst of the enemy; if we must eat, we need power. Scorpions and serpents surround us; if we won’t get hurt, we need power. We are in the midst of devils; if we are not going to be afflicted with sickness, diseases, and poverty, we need power. The land promised to us by our God is not vacant; if we must take possession of it, we need power. It takes power to be a witness for Jesus and recover everything the enemy stole. Please don’t be powerless.

“Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.” Luke 9:1

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

When Jesus was here physically, He had to give His disciples the power to carry out the assignment He gave to them. When He left physically, He transferred the release of power to the Holy Spirit. He told them that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them. This means we must connect to the Holy Spirit if we do not want to be powerless.

May you be full of the Holy Spirit and power in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, anoint me with the Holy Spirit and power in Jesus name.

Don’t be faithless

“And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.” Luke 9:41

You can be religious, but faithless. Religion cannot give you results, but faith in Christ Jesus will give you results, please don’t be faithless. You cannot live without faith. You cannot please God without faith. You cannot change things without faith. You cannot overcome the world without faith. You cannot move mountains without faith. You cannot receive answers to your prayers without faith. You cannot possess your possessions without faith. You cannot make heaven without faith. Faith is the wisdom of God in the present, which is acting on God’s word; therefore, faith is the principal thing, in all your getting, get faith.

“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” Mathew 17:21

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

If you find out you lack faith in any situation, spend time with the written word, pray and fast. Ask God to give you faith. Faith is so important that it is both a gift and a fruit. Faith does not doubt the word, to be faithless is to doubt the word and consequently disobey the word. Faith believes the word. Faith does the word. Faith prays the word. Faith declares the word. To overcome any challenge, you need a specific word that will generate faith in you.

May you be full of faith in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give increase my faith in Jesus name.

The issue of a conflicting covenant

“Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.” 2 Samuel 21:1

The issue of a conflicting covenant is the secret behind prolonged and mysterious battles in the life of a Christian. Evil dedication, unknown commitment, and evil covenants are examples of conflicting covenants. I want you to know that just as God is jealous over those in covenant with Him, the devil is also jealous over those who are dedicated to him, knowingly or unknowingly. The devil may fight your health and prosperity if you are dedicated to him, but you want to serve God. The good news is that through the finished work on the cross, Jesus has dealt with the covenants working against us.

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.” Hebrews 8:7

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;” Colossians 2:14

If you are struggling to live as a Christian or some areas of your life are under mysterious attack despite the fact that you are born again, you may need to engage the power of God to deal with a conflicting covenant. Cancel whatever that is legally working against you as a Christian by the power in the blood of Jesus in the name of Jesus.

May you enjoy the inheritance of the Saints in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God arise, smite the gods and the goddesses attacking my life in Jesus name.

The issue of a broken covenant

“….. and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.” Deuteronomy 7:9

There are challenges in life, but no challenge can overcome a covenant child of God unless there is an issue of a broken covenant. Your sure security in this wild world is your covenant with God, you have to consciously guide and protect it. Little is much if the covenant is in place. A useless instrument can be a great weapon of war, if the covenant is in place. The foolish thing shall shame the wise if the covenant is in place. The covenant gives you God’s full commitment and backing, please do not break it.

“Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.” Joshua 7:11

“And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.” Judges 16:20

Israel turned back and was defeated by a weak enemy because of a broken covenant. They disobeyed God, took the accursed thing, and put it in their own stuff. The presence of the Lord left Samson and he became an ordinary man because of a broken covenant. As a new covenant believer, you only have to trust and obey the Lord to keep the covenant. The covenant is your covering both in the rain and in the sunshine.

May you never be outside the covenant in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God arise and repair the broken edges in my life in Jesus name.
