A cry for revival 1

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.” Psalms 85:6-7

We need revival. Love of many is waxing cold. The church is so worldly and the world so churchy. The endtime spirit has taken over many. Mammon has replaced God in the heart of many Christians. Oh God, let there be a revival in the nations of the earth. Let your fire fall again. Let your people repent from their sins and receive your fresh Spirit. Let the Christians that are being persecuted be protected by your power. Let nations turn to you Oh Lord.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14

Beloved, if we are going to see revival, you and I must examine ourselves and cry for revival in our lives. Are you still growing in Christ? Do you love God more than the riches of this world? If the Lord should come, will you be taken with Him? Is sin not having dominion over you? God is loving, caring, and forgiving. He will hear us if we genuinely cry unto Him. Wherever you are, let us start the fire. Let the world be taken over again by the glory and power of God. Let false religion and satan suffer lost in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let the fire of revival be kindled in all nations of the world in Jesus name.

Call to Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Your friends, your life 3

“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.” Proverbs 25:19

I hear people talk about casual friends. There are no casual friends because there is no casual life. You must choose your friends based on the plan you have for your life. There are many good times in life, but there are times of trouble as well. One of your keys to deliverance in the time of trouble is for you to have faithful friends around you. Faithful friends must be deliberately attracted into your life because life is too short to gamble with.

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3

“And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?” 2 Corinthians 6:15

A friend is a person with whom you share information and time. This is a life determinant.  You are who you are because of the information you have and how you have invested your time. A fiend is a key to this and so you cannot choose a friend casually.  When Samson made a casual friend with Delilah and decided to share his information and time with her. That was what finished him. If you are going to the north, your friend’s destination cannot be the South, otherwise, you will never get to the north. May God separate you from unfriendly friends in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to get rid of people that are in my life to waste it in Jesus name.

Your friends, your life 2

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

The friend you make will eventually make you. I am sure if you look at some of the habits in your life right now, they are traceable to one or the other friend that came into your life. The easiest way to learn anything in life is to make a friend with someone who is good at it. If you want to be successful, make friends with people who are successful. Whenever you make a friend, you are determining your life.

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1 Corinthians 15:33

The day David met Jonathan, his life became protected. Amnon made a friend with Jonadab and he taught him deception, which eventually destroyed him. As a Christian if your best friend is an unbeliever, you cannot grow. Beloved, maybe you have been struggling with a habit or you have been trying to do something without success, I advise you to look into the company you keep. You may need to change your company of friends to have a breakthrough.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to choose the right company of friends in Jesus name.

Your friends, your life 1

“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” Proverbs 13:20

Faith is necessary for life’s journey. As a child of God, you need faith to live. The company you keep can determine whether you are a fool or a wise person; so also it can determine whether you will live in faith or unbelief. If a person is not encouraging you to trust God, he will make you suffer harm. This is because you cannot fulfill your destiny alone and the devil hates you for the assignment God has given you.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Psalms 1:1

“But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.” 2 Samuel 13:3

Friendship is by choice and it is detrimental to be sentimental. Examine the company you are keeping today and determine whether you are a fool or a wise person. If you want to have a victorious life, you will have to choose friends who will encourage your faith in God, in yourself, and in the vision that God has given you. It is a glorious day for you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, rescue me, and deliver me out of the hands of strange friends, whose mouths speak deceit, whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood in Jesus name.

It is done!

“Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.” 1 Samuel 1:17

What you are asking the Lord is done. If you believe it, you will wipe off your tears, change your countenance, and declare your testimony. There comes a time in the life of a man when he or she desperately cry unto the Lord. It may be a quarter to shame or reproach. It may be that the adversary thought he had an upper hand. It may be that the mockers are enjoying themselves. In that instance, divine intervention is the only way out. This was the situation of Hannah, but Eli was sent to her to tell her, it is done. God has sent me to tell you this morning that it is done. You shall not be put to shame, your blessing shall manifest.

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” 1 John 5:14

What should you do? Celebrate God and His faithfulness. Give Him praise and worship Him in anticipation of the manifestation of your testimony. The Psalmist said, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.” I see God doing for you what no man can do. I see Him mobilizing unusual help for you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, I thank you because you have settled my case in Jesus name.

Pray always

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18

Anyone who tries to undermine prayers is either a deceiver or an agent of the devil. A spiritual breakthrough precedes physical breakthrough. If you are going to try again, include a consistent daily time of prayer. Many are failing today not because they don’t have what it takes physically, but due to a lack of spiritual strength. Prayer is your key to penetrate into the realm of the spirit and take what belongs to you.

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 18:1

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Whether you are successful or you are on your way to success, prayer must be part of your daily schedule. If you are a Christian and you cannot pray, your life cannot be better than that of unbelievers. Don’t let the comfort of riches or technology take prayer away from you. If the enemy finds you powerless, he can rob you or at worst waste you. Learn to concentrate when praying, put off your phones, and avoid distractions. Prayer will not only empower you, but it will also give you direction and favor. I see your adversaries submitting before you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let your fire keep on burning in me in Jesus name.

Try again

“And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” Genesis 26:22

It is possible to experience failure for a season, but success will surely come if you are willing to try again. Most people will not achieve success in the first attempt. There are multiple reasons behind this, but I want to talk about the opposing forces. The way to beat the opposition is to try until you achieve success. You know if you will want to go up you will need to overcome the force of gravity. Be prepared for many attempts.  Be prepared also to grow and learn from failed attempts if you want to succeed.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

“And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed. And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.” 2 Kings 13:18-19

Isaac was in the land God has planted him. He planted as God commanded and prospered. The native of the land began to envy him. Then he decided to venture into digging wells. There was contention, but he kept on trying. The opposition eventually gave up. Success is like wrestling with Gorilla, you don't quit when you are tired, you quit when the Gorilla is tired. Even if there are demonic forces against you, if you do not stop trying, you will achieve success. I see you succeeding this week in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God arise, change my failure story to a success story in Jesus name.

Surviving in hostile environments 3

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16

What chance does a sheep have to survive in the midst of wolves except for the wisdom and the strength of the shepherd? If as a sheep you have found yourself among wolves where God planted you, you must let God do the fighting. Jesus said, “be harmless like a dove.” Dove signifies peace, humility and total dependence on God. When God is doing the fighting, you will pity the wolves. This means you yourself must make sure you are not a wolf to the sheep God has sent to you.

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” Hebrews 12:14

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

The outcome of any battle does not depend on the strength of the opposition or his weapons. It depends on the covenant with God. Engage God to do the fighting for you but follow the way of peace. Isaac remained in Gerar, and prospered there (Genesis 26). The people started their trouble, but he did not leave. He dug well and they contested with him. He went ahead to dig another one until they could not contest with him anymore. God shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace for He resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let it be known that You are God in my life where You have planted me in Jesus name.

Surviving in hostile environments 2

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16

Jesus said wisdom is needed if you find yourself in hostile environments. A wise sheep can be in the midst of purposefully hostile wolves and yet not be devoured. Jesus likened the wisdom needed by such sheep as the wisdom of a serpent. You will agree with me that despite the fact that human beings hate serpents, they have not been able to annihilate them, serpents still live with us. Serpents are so wise to escape any trap set for them.

“And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.” 2 Kings 6:12

“And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. But he passing through the midst of them went his way,” Luke 4:29-30

Wisdom is acting on the truth. As a sheep, you must hear the voice of the shepherd and act on them. The king of Israel would always escape the trap of the king of Syria because Elisha was telling him about them. The crowd wanted to cast Jesus down over the hill, but he walked away in the midst of them. You will have to depend on God’s supernatural wisdom and act on His word, if where He has planted you is hostile to you.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me the wisdom to be on the top of the situation where You have planted me in Jesus name.

Surviving in hostile environments 1

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16

If sheep can survive in the midst of wolves, then you can survive wherever God has planted you. An environment can be hostile for many reasons, but majorly because of the response of the people to you and the principality ruling the environment. The first thing you need is confident that God has sent you there. If God has sent you there, He will back you up.

“For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.” Genesis 26:14

“And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,” Acts 7:9

If you are sure that God sent you there, then you will be confident that you are not alone. Isaac was told by God to stay in Gerar. He planted there and God blessed him. The people of the place became hostile to him, but God was with him. When his brothers sold Joseph to Egypt, they did not know that it was God using them to send him there. The presence of God was with him. Beloved, if you are conscious of the plan of God to be where you are, you will survive no matter the hostility of the land.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to flourish in the land that you have planted me in Jesus name.

Spiritual hunger 5

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16

Spiritual hunger brings you into three major Christian experiences. These are spiritual maturity, character (fruits of the spirit) and charisma (gifts of the spirit). These are all needed for a complete Christian life. If you want to be profitable as a Christian on earth and be confident about life after with Jesus Christ, you must be hungry for all of the Lord to grow in maturity, in character and in the manifestation of the gifts.

“And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Galatians 5:24

“But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.” 1 Corinthians 12:31

Christian maturity helps you to discern between good and evil so that you can handle situations and relationships with people in a godly and spiritual manner. Spiritual fruits are an evidence of your character, both in the secret and in the open, which is a reflection of the fact that you have conquered flesh. Spiritual gifts help you to walk in the supernatural. May you be hungry for all of God in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let all my hunger be satisfied in You in Jesus name.

Spiritual hunger 4

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” John 6:35

Everyone is hungry for something. Hunger gives your seeking a direction. You only seek for things that you are hungry. Most people are hungry for the food that will not last. Spiritual hunger will drive you to the feet of Jesus, the only place where you can get the bread of life that lasts forever. When this hunger is satisfied, most of the things that the people of the world are hungry for will naturally follow you. More importantly, this is what keeps a man in shape for an eternal destination.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

“Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14

All physical evidence is subject to spiritual authority. The devil will want to misdirect your hunger and make you hungry for things that do not matter. He knows that if you have the right spiritual hunger and you get it satisfied; he will have to submit to you and even the situations that are contrary to you. Beloved, Jesus has food and water for your hunger and thirst, spend time with him and get it.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to direct my spiritual hunger to the feet of Jesus in Jesus name.

Spiritual hunger 3

“But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:14

Spiritual maturity is a product of satisfying spiritual hunger. The bible states clearly that no one can survive on the physical food alone, but by the word that comes from God. It is not wrong to crave the milk of the word, but there will be a time when the milk will no longer satisfy. At this time, solid food or strong meat is needed. The evidence of growth is the ability to discern and to make a sound judgement. This is where you need solid food for instruction, direction, and correction. You should have known that the only way to deal with Christian challenges and to make it to the end is to be hungry for more of God.

“Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.” Matthew 13:52

“Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:” Exodus 19:5

Beloved, what separates us from the rest of the world and makes us a peculiar treasure unto God is our access to God’s voice and positive response to Him. The same thing will help us to have the right response to all issues, new or old, peace or war. The only way to see the reality of this is to have a genuine hunger for spiritual matters. Desire the solid word. Do not resist correction or rebuke. Sincerely desire more of God in your life.

Prayer for today: Oh God, I am hungry for more of you, fill me in Jesus name.

Spiritual hunger 2

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2

The first kind of hunger you see in a baby is for milk. A baby who does not desire milk either is a stillbirth or is having a health problem. If you have never desired to grow in the word of God or you have never desired the word, it may be that you have never experienced a new birth. It is possible to be in church for several years and to be playing religion and not yet enter the kingdom. The good news is that if you start hungry for spiritual things now, God will fill you.

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” Isaiah 55:1

“My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?” Psalms 42:2

You may buy a church position with money. You can even get an ordination to be a Pastor with money. However, you are cannot buy spiritual satisfaction with money. The only way to get it is a sincere hunger and thirst after God, His Word, and His Spirit. You might have been attracted to the church because of a need or a problem. The problem was solved but instead of you to receive salvation grace and begin to hunger after God, you decided to receive religion. People think you are a Christian but you are not. It is time for you to come to the Lord, get saved, and be hungry for spiritual things.

Prayer for today: Oh God, save my soul and put your desire in me in Jesus name.

Spiritual hunger 1

“I, the Lord, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” Psalm 81:10

The miracle of salvation has been likened to the deliverance of Israel from the land of Egypt. What should come after that is a genuine hunger for spiritual growth. God’s grace cannot increase in the life of a Christian without growth in the knowledge of Him. This grace distinguishes us from the rest of the world. It is of utmost importance that you become so hungry that you should open your mouth for God to fill it.

“He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Matthew 5:8

I am sure you have been hungry before and had to eat to deal with the hunger. How satisfying it is to have a delicious meal in the right quality and quantity after a major hunger. Hungry generates unusual aggression and when it is satisfied it brings peace and energy. Yes, spiritual hunger should generate an unusual aggression. It must reveal a void that only God can fill. The results its satisfaction is a life of peace and energy which no devil can match.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let me be hungry in the spirit that you may fill me in Jesus name.

Creating your own world 4

“Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:  But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.” Acts 26:19-20

Go ahead and pursue the vision God has given you. You can create your own world, go ahead and do it. Take revelation or knowledge-based steps to create your own world. Work out your miracles by acting on God’s instructions for your life. One good thing that will happen to you if you are a praying Christian is that you will begin to see things. You will see and know things about yourself, about your environment, about what you should do to create your own world. Now when you see or know things, you must do something about them. Paul said in our text, “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.” He began to do something radical about it immediately. He was seen everywhere doing what he had been told by God to do.

“To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:”Gal 1:16

“And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.” 1 Samuel 17:49

The problem with most people is that when God speaks to them or give them a revelation of an idea of what they should do, they wonder if it will work. They doubt!! They consult with people who will discourage them from acting on what God has revealed to them. Paul said in Galatians 1:16, “To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:” Beloved, stop doubting, start acting, the world belongs to actors and not doubters.

Prayer for today: Oh God, kill every seed of doubt in me, give me your own faith to create my own world in Jesus name.

Creating your own world 3

“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” Psalm 82:6

You need to have God-consciousness if you want to create your own world. I will like to share two things about God’s consciousness. The first is the fact that if you have heard God or received a vision from God, you are a god (John 10:35). The other is the fact that if you are a child of God, God’s presence is with you to do the supernatural (John 3:2). If you have received a vision or word from the Lord, you can confidently go ahead to execute it in the consciousness of God’s backing for you.

“Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;” John 10:34-35

“The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.” John 3:2

Creation is the work of God. He has committed the work of recreation to the children of men. If you are not executing this assignment, you need another encounter with God. This encounter will produce God’s consciousness that will give you the boldness to act as God. You can receive a vision from God, an empowerment from Him, and the strategy to execute the vision.  May you have this encounter in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me a personal encounter that will enable me to walk as a god on earth in Jesus name.

Creating your own world 2

“And God said unto Noah,…….. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms …….. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.” Genesis 6:13-15

The creation starts with an idea, an insight, a vision, or a revelation. The world you cannot see, you cannot create. Anything in this world today is twice seen by at least a person who conceived it and then brought it to reality. If you are going to create your own word, you must see beyond this world and have a vision. God is willing to give you a vision if you will ask Him and display holy anger against the present situation around you. If you accept the present world as normal, you will never be able to create your own world.

“And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:” Isaiah 29:11

“And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.” Genesis 13:14-15

Beloved, if you are a child of God, God is willing to share His creation part of Him with you. You must earnestly desire a vision from Him and the power to pursue it. In the world of his time, Noah received a vision for the Ark. When destruction came to the world, he had created a world of safety for himself and those who believed him. May God open your eyes to behold a new world. May your inner eyes receive a new insight from God.

Prayer for today: Oh God, share your creative wisdom and power with me in Jesus name.

Creating your own world 1

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:2

The fact that this world is full of trouble is not news, but you can create your own world out of the turbulent world.  You can create a world of peace in the midst of the storm. You can create a world of plenty in the midst of famine. You can create a world of success in the midst of failure. To do this, you must understand how the world works and what has been given to you.

“And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mark 4:41

“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” Psalm 82:6

You must be like your Father, the almighty God, and challenge whatever that is not acceptable around you. It may be a system, it may be a condition or circumstances, it may be an issue. Do not just watch and accept abnormality as normal. God has given you the power to create and to recreate. You must make use of what has given you to create your desired world out of this failing world.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let your personality in me manifest to bring a change to the world today in Jesus name.

Your choice, your life 5

“then I said, ‘The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.’ Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering.” 1 Samuel 13:12

The fourth and the last criterion I will like to share with you for making a good choice is the time test. The truth is always the same at all times, but a lie will change with time. Can your choice pass the time test? Time will allow you to gather the necessary information about the options. Even if something has been hidden from you to confuse you and pressurize you to make a wrong choice, the secret will be brought to open if you do not make a choice in a hurry.

“So Jacob went near to Isaac his father, and he felt him and said, “The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.” And he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esau’s hands; so he blessed him.” Genesis 27:22-23

“For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.” Matthew 7:12

If there is a conflicting evidence wait, if there is a pressure wait, never make a choice when under pressure. Saul made a choice to offer a burnt offering, because he was under pressure and that marked the beginning of his fall. When Jacob came to deceive Isaac. Isaac discovered that there was conflicting evidence, if he had given it some more time the lies of Jacob would have been exposed.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let every lie be exposed, and help me to make the right choice in Jesus name.

Your choice, your life 4

“Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Romans 13:10

The third criterion for making a good choice is the love test. There are three dimensions for the love test; these are the love for God, the love for yourself, and the love for your neighbor. The question of whether any of the options will be against God, yourself, or your neighbor should help you to eliminate some of the options and make the right choice. Particularly when it involves your neighbor, you must remember that whatever choice you make will come back to you whether good or bad.

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12

People are more important than things.  Relationships can give you things, but things will never bring you a true relationship. If your choice will compromise your relationship with others and bring harm to them, you must reject it. If your choice has criminal content and has the potential of sending you to jail, you must also reject it. Your choice must not only consider your neighbor, but yourself and God.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let your love fill my heart and let me be guided to make the right choices in Jesus name.

Your choice, your life 2

“But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.” Acts 4:19

The first test of the choices before you is the God test. Any choice that is against God and His will for your life must be rejected. Some choices will be clear-cut as a sinful choice like when Potiphar’s wife asked Joseph to sleep with her. Joseph rejected it immediately saying how could I do this and sinned against God. Most times the choices will not look sinful, but will be particularly wrong for you because it is against the will of God for you. Your choice must not only be good, but it must also be godly.

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecclesiastes 12:13

“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.” 1 Corinthians 10:23

The choice that will bring you life, blessing and peace must be Godly. Your ability to make Godly choices will depend on your knowledge of His written word and your ability to listen and hear Him when He speaks to you. You must learn to wait until you know what the mind of God is concerning the choices before you when all options look good and godly.

Prayer for today: Oh God, reveal Your will to me concerning this situation and guide to me to make the right choice in Jesus name.
