““Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV)
A victorious Christian life is a life of obedience: obedience to both the written and spoken word of God. This is the wisdom for victorious Christian living: Do whatever He tells you (John 2:5). The victorious Christian life does not mean that challenges will not come; rather, it means that no matter the challenge, you will be on top. It also means that you will live the way you should, no matter what is happening around you. You will do well in the midst of scarcity. You live healthy in the midst of sickness and disease. You will be peaceful in the midst of battles. This is guaranteed if you can hear God and obey him.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-6
“Therefore submit to God. Resist
the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to
you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you
double-minded.” James 4:7-8
Knowing the word and the voice of the Lord is the foundation of victorious Christian living. You cannot follow God and the world at the same time. This is the difference between church attendees and those who have had an encounter with the Lord. If you willfully choose your way against the Lord, your way will be hard. But if you choose the way of the Lord, you will live in victory.
May you live in obedience in Jesus' name.
Prayer for today: Oh God, let your wisdom and your grace be enthroned in every area of my life in Jesus' name.
Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the
forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through
your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord. I invite you into my life to save my soul.
Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you
Lord for saving me in Jesus name.
