If Jezebel had been a Christian…..

“Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.” 1 kings 18:19

You remember Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab? Jezebel was totally sold out to Baal and the goddess Asherah. She personally sponsored 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the goddess Asherah. She influenced king Ahab to do evil and the entire land of Israel to serve Baal and the goddess Asherah.  She was totally committed to the gods she believed in and used her influence and position to spread the worship of the gods in the land of Israel.

If Jezebel had been a Christian, she would have sponsored the Gospel and ensured that the entire people of Israel served God. She would have influenced King Ahab to serve God and ensure that the Prophets of God were sponsored to do what God had called them to do. The land would have been blessed by God as a result of her commitment to God and His worship.

There are two important messages from this. The first is that if you are a Christian, where is the fruit of your commitment? Coming to church is a problem to some so called Christians not to talk of getting involved in the work of God. Every other thing is important to them except the Gospel. Jezebel is more important to her gods than many Christians to the living God. The second is if the people in power do not know the Gospel they will influence the Nation to serve the devil. Most of the things that are happening in our Nations today are as a result of people in leadership who are committed to satan rather than God.

Two things are important. First, review your Christianity and decide to be involved in the Gospel. Second, pray for our nations that the power of evil be broken over the people in leadership.

May the power of God bring revival to His church in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Let the earth be filled with the glory of God as water covers the sea in Jesus name.
