“And to knowledge temperance;
and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;” 2 Peter 1:6
It is important for you to have
self-control as a Christian in every situation you find yourself. You must be
the one telling your flesh what to do and not the other way round. The enemy
can take down any Christian who lacks temperance or cannot control himself at
any time.
“He that hath no rule over his own
spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” Proverbs 25:29
“He that is slow to anger is
better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.”
Proverbs 16:32.
How do you handle anger? How do
you handle lust? How do you handle temptations? If you want to conquer the
world, you must conquer yourself first. You may not want to conquer the world
but I am sure you want to live a successful Christian life, then temperance is
a must. You must be able to say no when it is necessary and say yes when that
is the way to go.
May you be able to control
yourself when dealing with situations and people in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: Oh Lord, help me to
conquer myself first in Jesus name.
