“And to knowledge temperance;
and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;” 2 Peter 1:6
Patience is the capacity to
maintain attitude, belief and position until a course of action yield results. For
a Christian, patience is simply waiting on God. The promises of God cover you
in all aspect of life, but you need a combination of faith and patience to
experience the promise. Everything in life follows a process of time, patience
is needed to complete the process.
“That ye be not slothful, but
followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Hebrews
6:12
“And it came to pass in process of
time, that … …..” Exodus 2:23
Be patient in prayer, in studying
the word, in sowing your seeds, in investing into people, in investing in
yourself, in your calling, and in the business or career that you have chosen.
All these have great capacities to bring you unusual returns and blessed future
but you must be willing to keep at it until the results are achieved. Never break
the patient loop. The world is yet to recover from the mistake of Abraham when
he impregnated Hagar. Don’t seek an alternative because you think God is taking
too long. You are closer to your breakthrough than you think, be patient. More
importantly, we will need patience in our walk with God to inherit the kingdom
of God.
“And Samuel said, What hast thou
done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and
that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines
gathered themselves together at Michmash” 1 Samuel 13:11
You will get there in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: Oh Lord, help me to
combine patience with faith to inherit the promise in Jesus name.
