“And to knowledge temperance;
and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;” 2 Peter 1:6
Godliness means to behave like
God. God is love and walk in power. Christians must be godly. In fact, the
mystery of godliness is embedded in the coming of Jesus Christ into this world
as God in the flesh, and His finished work.
“And without controversy great is
the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the
Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world,
received up into glory.” 1 Timothy 3:16
Beloved, you cannot claim to be a
Christian and not be godly. The main purpose why Christ came is to produce god
in us. To give us revelation of wisdom and power to be like god on earth.
Moreover, one of the greatest gains as a Christian is to be godly and be
contented.
“But godliness with contentment is
great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:6
“But unto them which are called,
both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” 1
Corinthians 1:24
“I have said, Ye are gods; and all
of you are children of the most High.” Psalms 82:6
May Christ be formed in you, may
you manifest as god on earth in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: Let the wisdom and the
power of God to walk as god on earth come upon me in Jesus name.
