Dealing with life’s challenges 9

“And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.”  Genesis 26:16
“And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.” 1 Samuel 18:8-9

Some challenges will come because you are growing.  Higher level brings higher responsibilities and also higher challenges. The challenges that Isaac had in Gerar were because he was increasing. The people were threatened by the fact that he was becoming mightier because God was blessing him. You cannot compare the challenge of a month old baby with that of a year old, and neither can you compare the challenge of a year old with a ten-year-old child. Saul wanted to kill David because he was being acknowledged for great exploits. If you think everyone is happy with your progress, you must be joking! But you don’t need to worry about such challenges if your life is pleasing to God. Concentrate on obeying God and doing His will. Also, learn to deal with your real enemy which is the flesh and the devil.

“When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-6

May your adversary be subdued before you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, let me increase in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and with men in Jesus name.
