“The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” Ecclesiastes 10:15
Some life challenges come as a result of foolish
actions and foolish talk. Foolish actions bring weariness. Foolish talk creates
an unnecessary environment for pain and difficulties.
The most foolish thing on earth is to reject God’s
offer of love in Christ Jesus and to reject God’s will for one’s life. The
former brings eternal damnation in hell fire while the latter is the reason
behind unnecessary pain that people go through.
“And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and
prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with
many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes,
shall be beaten with few stripes. ….” Luke 12:47-48
“And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly:
thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded
thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel forever.”
1 Samuel 13:13
Nabal brought trouble to himself when he turned
away the servants of David who had been protecting his business. If not for the
intervention of Abigail, he would have lost all. Abigail said in 1 Samuel
25:25, “Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal:
for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I
thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.”
The only antidote to folly is the acquisition of right
knowledge and its application thereof. May folly be far from you in Jesus name.
Prayer for
today: Oh God, give me the wisdom to deal wisely in all affairs of life in
Jesus name.
