Never give up

“……weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalms 30:5
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Psalms 126:5

Beloved, don’t give up, joy is coming!

In any situation, giving up is not an option. Someone says if you are passing through hell don’t stop. Giving up is like stopping in the tunnel of heat, it will devour those who refuse to continue. If you continue you will get to the end of the tunnel. Robert Schuller wrote, tough times never last but tough people do. Your salvation is closer than when the challenge started. Never give up. He who gives up misses the glorious experience of an overcomer. Rewards are for those who never grow weary. Even if you have been attacked by satan and his agents, if you don’t give up they will soon give up. The Bible makes us to understand that demons also get tired and look for a place of rest (Luke 11:24). Let the Holy Spirit fill your life so that you can go on in the strength of the Lord. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength in all situations. Joseph never allowed the situation he found himself to get into him. He was even excited in the prison, knowing fully well that God’s promises will come to pass. The Bible encouraged us that weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.

The light of God shall shine in your darkness in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I will not give up; I will see my breakthrough in Jesus name.

Building your house on the rock 6

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23
“Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” John 20:29

If you want to build your house on the rock, you must build yourself to be a believer. A believer, first in God and secondly in yourself. All things are possible for believers! You must be ready to believe first, before experiencing what you believe. “Seeing is believing” is not a correct statement for believers. For believers, believing is seeing! When you believe without seeing, you are blessed. This is because the future you don’t believe, you cannot experience.

“While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.” Mark 5:35-36

Don’t be short-sighted, don’t be a negative thinker neither should you be a pessimist. Stop talking negatively. Don’t declare into your life what you don’t want. Don’t allow your challenges to define you. Always see the light beyond the darkness. Always declare your expectations.  Always see a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Look beyond the challenges and see the victory which God has given you. All things are possible for believers. What your eyes can see or what you can feel is not all that is going on. We walk not by sight but by faith.  You have got to see well to live well and deal with your challenges without being scarred.  Never doubt the power of God to bring you out of the mire and set your feet on solid rock.

I see God manifesting His power in your life in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: I declare I am a believer and not a doubter in Jesus name.

Building your house on the rock 5

“And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.” 2 Samuel 11: 15
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Proverbs 13:20

For you to build your house on the rock, you must not be alone neither should you have wrong people around you. The Bible says woe unto him that is alone (Ecc 4:10). The people that surround you will determine whether you will survive the challenges of life or not. More importantly, if you have chosen your friends, you have chosen your future. In our text, David knew that Uriah would survive the hottest battle if someone had his back. So he wrote that he should be set in the hottest battle and Joab should withdraw from him. If people have not withdrawn from Uriah, he would not have been killed.

“Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them. And they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.” 2 Chronicles 24: 17-18

Joash served God when Johoiada was alive and was his closest person. However, when he died and the princes of Judah took over, they led Joash to do evil in the sight of God. Don’t be deceived, peer pressure is not only with young people, but it also affects adults too.

If you have the right people around you, they will lead you to please God and will also support you during challenging times. May your life attract the right people and reject the wrong people in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I refuse to be alone in my journey in life, I call in destiny helpers in Jesus name.

Building your house on the rock 4

“And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.” Acts 7:9-10

When you build your relationship with God, you are building on the solid rock that can never fail. This is because if God is on your side, no challenges can overcome you. The presence of God is secured by daily and consistent fellowship with Him. If God’s presence is important to you, you must separate time daily to fellowship with him. It does not matter what people or this world throw at you, if God is with you, you will overcome. Spend time to meditate on God’s word and to pray. Live in obedience to God’s instruction.

Joseph in our text today is one of the characters in the bible that proved that relationship with God is very important. His brethren sold him to Egypt but the presence of God in his life turned things around to his favor. Even when his master’s wife wanted an adulterous relationship with him, he refused because of his relationship with God. Another character is Daniel. In Daniel 6, some men plotted against him, but he continued his fellowship with God. They succeeded in having him throw into Lion’s den but yet they could not destroy him because God was with him.

“There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Genesis 39:9
“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” Daniel 6:10

May God’s presence abide with you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let my soul long after you as the hart long after the water brooks in Jesus name.

Building your house on the rock 3

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclestiastes 3:1
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Ecclestiastes 9:11

Everything in this world is a function of two factors, the time and the word (information, revelation). I want to talk about time this morning. Anything you fail to do at the right time, you will have to do at another time. But it will not be as easy. If you refuse to go to school or learn a skill at the expected time, you will have to do it later but it will come with extra challenges. Imagine a man going to school after marriage, his challenges will be different from a young man who is in the same school and unmarried. Procrastination and laziness are robbers of time. When you are procrastinating, it feels sweet but it increases the severeness of future challenges.

Apart from this, favor is determined by time. Reward and harvest are determined by time. Things that are easy within their times are difficult outside their times. God operates on earth by time and in time. You must know what to do per time and do it if you want to build your house on the rock.

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22
“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.” 1 Chronicles 12:32

May you have an understanding of time. May you always do the right thing at the right time, and be at the right place at the right time in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to build my life according to time in Jesus name.

Building your house on the rock 2

“And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?” Genesis 37:15
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18

It is better to have challenges because of a vision than to have challenges because you don’t have a vision. Either way, you will still have challenges.  But if you have a vision, you will be building your life on the rock against all storms.

If you don’t have a vision for your life, if you don’t have anything you have committed your life into, you have set yourself up for collapse when challenges come.  You must have a passion for something that is in alignment with your purpose in life. Don’t be a wanderer in the field of life, know what you want and what you want to achieve with your life. Something that you will not give up whatever may come.
“And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk 2:2
“Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12
“Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:” Acts 26:19

Ask God to give you the vision to run with. If God gives you a vision and you decide to pursue it with your life, no devil can kill you, no storm can stop you.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me an encounter that will set me on the path of standing strong in you in Jesus name.

Building your house on the rock 1

“Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” Mathew 16:17-18

It is important to build your house on the rock. This is because if you do, you become unshakable and immovable when the storm of life is raging and the gate of hell is roaring. Someone said tough time never last but tough people do. The real tough people are the people who have built their houses on the rock. Storms of life will come and go, yet they will be standing.

The Bible explains to us how to build our houses on the rock: by simply hearing the word of God and obeying its instructions. The implication of this is that what you are hearing is very important. It can determine whether you will make it or not. Also, the source of what you are hearing is important, the source can be either from flesh and blood or from the Father in heaven. Lastly, if you are a hearer and not a doer, what you have heard will not profit you.

Give the word of God the first place in your life.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:1-3

I see you standing victoriously in all situations in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God let me be hungry daily for your word in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 12

“And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.  And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.” (John 9:1-3).
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Some challenges may come because God wants to manifest His glory or He wants to achieve a purpose. To overcome such a challenge, there is only one way, God. You must turn to Him and allow Him to work things out for your good.

The man in our text today was born blind, not because of anyone’s sin but that he might have an encounter with Jesus to receive his sight back so that all glory should go to God. In 1 Samuel 9, God wanted to anoint Saul as the first king of Israel. One of the ways Saul could leave his father to get to Samuel was for him to be looking for something. So his father’s asses got lost and as he was looking for them, he met Samuel who anointed him as a king.

“And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.” 1 Samuel 9:3
“Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying, To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.” 1 Samuel 9: 15-16

Note that God had told Samuel that he was sending Saul to him, so the asses got lost so that Saul could get to Samuel. Beloved, as a child of God, all things are working together for your good.

Prayer for today: Oh God, glorify yourself in my life in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 11

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” Psalm 22:6

Some challenges will also come as a result of the challenges in the country you live in. That is why it is necessary to pray for the country where you live and do the right thing. When Samaria was besieged, there was famine and people began to buy dung of dove for food. A woman even offered her son for food (2kings 6). If you are living in a country that is politically besieged or economically troubled, this creates some extra challenges.

It is important to note that you should follow God’s direction in choosing where you will pitch your tent. Your location has a lot to do with your allocation.

“Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.” 1 Kings 17:9
“And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;” Genesis 26:2-3
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” 2 Corinthians 5:7

If you live in a place where God has directed, you will be protected and you will live in peace and prosperity no matter the situation of the place. Don’t run away from a country because it does not look good, ask God for direction, for we walk not by sight but by faith.

May God guide you in all your ways in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Let this country (mention where you live) enjoy the peace and prosperity of God in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 10

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” Proverbs 15:1
“The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” Ecclesiastes 10:15

Some life challenges come as a result of foolish actions and foolish talk. Foolish actions bring weariness. Foolish talk creates an unnecessary environment for pain and difficulties.

The most foolish thing on earth is to reject God’s offer of love in Christ Jesus and to reject God’s will for one’s life. The former brings eternal damnation in hell fire while the latter is the reason behind unnecessary pain that people go through.

“And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. ….” Luke 12:47-48
“And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel forever.” 1 Samuel 13:13

Nabal brought trouble to himself when he turned away the servants of David who had been protecting his business. If not for the intervention of Abigail, he would have lost all. Abigail said in 1 Samuel 25:25, “Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.”

The only antidote to folly is the acquisition of right knowledge and its application thereof. May folly be far from you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me the wisdom to deal wisely in all affairs of life in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 9

“And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.”  Genesis 26:16
“And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.” 1 Samuel 18:8-9

Some challenges will come because you are growing.  Higher level brings higher responsibilities and also higher challenges. The challenges that Isaac had in Gerar were because he was increasing. The people were threatened by the fact that he was becoming mightier because God was blessing him. You cannot compare the challenge of a month old baby with that of a year old, and neither can you compare the challenge of a year old with a ten-year-old child. Saul wanted to kill David because he was being acknowledged for great exploits. If you think everyone is happy with your progress, you must be joking! But you don’t need to worry about such challenges if your life is pleasing to God. Concentrate on obeying God and doing His will. Also, learn to deal with your real enemy which is the flesh and the devil.

“When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-6

May your adversary be subdued before you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, let me increase in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and with men in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 8

” Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.”  Genesis 37:20

Some life challenges come as a result of the vision you received from God. Devil will definitely hate you because God has given you a vision and wants to use you. But the good news is that God will help you and if God is for you who can be against you (Romans 8:31).

“And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.” Acts 7: 9-10
“Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:” Acts 26:19

Pursue the vision of God for your life come what may! It is better to be in the will of God than to be outside of His will. Some people bound themselves with an oath that they would not eat or drink until they have killed Paul. But God protected him. Just like Paul, don’t be disobedient to the vision that God has given you, your glory is hidden in the vision.

May you ride on the wings of your present challenges to getting to your glorious destination in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: The vision that God has given me shall speak in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 7

“And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.” Exodus 2:23

Some challenges come with time and expire with time. These are like the challenges of a pregnant woman which comes for nine months and then expire leading to joy and celebration. This kind of challenges naturally dies when the process of time is completed.

“And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.” Genesis 15:13-14
“Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10

Most challenges that have to do with training, development and becoming a master in a thing are like this. The faster you learn the faster the challenge comes to an end. For example, you cannot get admitted into a University and get a degree on the same day. You must follow the process. The process may be like passing through a dark time but in the end, there will be light. You cannot pray such challenge out, but you can ask for grace and wisdom.

Perhaps you are facing this kind of challenge right now, I ask God to see you through in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me grace and wisdom to overcome my challenges in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 6

“Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.” 1 Samuel 17:36

Life challenges make you stronger if you overcome. Life challenges make you grow in strength and experience. Life challenges give you an opportunity to help others if you overcome.

Our text this morning was David’s response to Saul when he told David that he cannot go and fight Goliath because he was a youth and Goliath was an experienced fighter. David told Saul, he had killed a Lion before so also a bear and that Goliath should be the next.  It is great to note that Saul did not doubt David ‘s ability to kill Goliath the moment he heard the history of his victory. If you run from the Lion and the bear you cannot qualify to handle the Goliath. Also, if you run today from the Lion and the bear, you are still coming back to face them tomorrow. The class you don’t pass, you repeat. That is why you must not run when life’s challenges come knocking on your door. You must just confront it and get through it with the help of God and those God has sent to help you. The point is that we become wiser and stronger through the challenges we go through in life.

I see your present challenge becoming history in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me testimonies concerning my present challenges in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 5

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;” Colossians 2:14
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” Galatians 3:13

Some life challenges are generational, familial or inherited. The good news is that you don’t have to go through such as a Christian because Jesus Christ already dealt with them.

If the pattern is in your family or your parents experienced the same that you are going through, it may fall into this category. Read about the family of Abraham in Genesis 11, you will understand why his wife was barren and God had to bless him to change his life. Hiel embarked on the project of rebuilding Jericho, but he never knew that he would lose his children (1 Kings 16:34). Ahimelech was at his duty post serving God, but he never knew that his generation has been sold out to death (1 Samuel 2:31, 1 Samuel 22). Some are due to unknown curses and covenants. Like the story of a Lady in Lagos, who was successful in her career but at the age of 39 nobody has ever approached her for marriage. This was her challenge until she found out that she has been covenanted into a marriage with the priest of the idol in her village. It was only when the covenant was broken that she could get married.

I invoke the blood of Jesus against any challenge you may be having as a result of a problematic foundation. Receive your deliverance in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I enforce my deliverance in every area of my life in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 4

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10

The challenges you are facing is a measure of your strength.

Your strength as a child of God is defined as your capability to allow God to work through you and to give you grace. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Your actual strength is your ability to believe God and to trust Him in every situation you find yourself.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 1 Corinthians 12: 9
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17

When you work on your faith level, you are working on your strength level. Instead of becoming faint when challenges come, you should work on your faith. Spend time with God and His word until you believe God to handle the challenge. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

I decree that you will not faint, it is your challenges that shall faint in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Lord I believe, help my unbelief in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 3

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” Mathew 7:24-27.

It is you that determine the outcome and not the magnitude of the challenges.

In our text today, both houses were attacked by the storm. One was standing after the storm while the other crumbled. The outcome was determined by the house and not the storm. Whenever the challenges of life come, you will have to focus on yourself and not the challenge. If your house is in order, you will successfully handle the challenge. Build your house on the rock!

Now in building yourself, what you are hearing is important. And equally important is what you are doing. Hear the word of God and do it, then the magnitude of the challenges you are going through will not matter. You will come out of it victoriously. Choose who you listen to. Listen to people who will encourage you, declare the word of God to you, pray for you and support you.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

I see restoration in every area of your life in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Let the word of the Lord come to me in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 2

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11: 23

Life’s challenges, although blind are not deaf.

I told you yesterday that life challenges are blind, they come to all. A piece of very wonderful news is that they are not deaf. They all have the capacity to hear and to obey. Everything has ears including the challenges of life. Just as you can speak to people you can also speak to your mountains.

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:3
“So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.” Ezekiel 37:7
“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” 2 Corinthians 4:13
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21

Beloved, when a life challenge comes, THE FIRST THING you should do is to tell it to die. Tell the sickness in your body to die. Tell the poverty and debt to die. Tell the storm to die IN JESUS NAME. Don’t stop speaking until you see results.

I see the mountain before you moving, I see the valley before you lifted in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: You storm of my life, be still in Jesus name.

Dealing with life’s challenges 1

Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” Job 14:1

I declare your victory in all challenges of life in Jesus name.

Life’s challenges are blind, they don’t recognize race, sex, color, age, height, profession, riches or faith they come to all. Sometimes they come like a mountain to be succumbed or like a difficult tormenting sickness. A man of God said he was surprised when they brought to him a 12-year-old child having high blood pressure problems. At other times they come as relationship issues or financial issues. It may also have to do with growth and increase. Some are multifaceted and life-threatening. Some are generational and inherited. Some are self-caused while others are imposed. Job said ‘man that is born of a woman is of few days and the days are full of trouble’. The good news is that you can maintain peace and make progress despite life’s challenges! You can overcome all life challenges!!

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Now, as a Christian, maybe someone has told you that once you are born again all challenges are over. I am sorry you have been lied to. However, being a Christian gives you the opportunity to access all that you need to stay on top and handle your challenges. Jesus put it this way in Mathew 7:25, ‘be wise, build your house on the rock. If you do, you will be standing no matter the challenges’. Apart from this, we have an unfailing promise from our Master in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

I see you celebrating soon in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I rebuke the spirit of discouragement in my life in Jesus name.

Success Secrets 7

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” Daniel 6:10

Engage the power of prayer. You cannot pray through and not break through. Pray yourself into being a success.

Daniel was intelligent and hardworking. He was a President in the Kingdom of Medes and Persians. His success secret was that he prayed regularly three times a day. David said in Psalms 55:17, “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” Jesus spoke a parable in Luke 18:1 to emphasize that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

“He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.” 1 Samuel 2:9
“The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.” Proverbs 21:31

Beloved, if you have a sound prayer life, you will have a successful life.

Prayer for today: Oh God, make me a success in Jesus name.

Success Secrets 6

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” Mathew 6:22

Don’t break your focus. Avoid distraction. Be successful.

One of the enemies of success is distraction, avoid it. Don’t be busy here and there. Do one thing at a time. You need all the information about your assignment. You also need all your energy to make it happen. Jesus said when you concentrate on one thing, you will be able to see all that you need to see. Concentration brings illumination. Illumination brings success and breakthrough. You need the details to be successful and you will only get the details if you are focused.

“And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy life be for his life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver.  And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.” 1 Kings 20: 38-40.

“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42

A lot of things will want to complete with the time you need for your assignment. You must cut them off and focus on your assignment if you want to be successful.

You will get there in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord give me the grace to cut off all distractions that want to steal my success in Jesus name.

Success Secrets 5

“Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.”1 Kings 17:9

Beloved, there is a place for you.

There is a place where success becomes your portion, where what you do prospers. If a man is wrongly located, success will elude him. Mathew 2:23 says, “And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.”
“Again I looked throughout the earth and saw that the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous; BUT IT IS ALL BY CHANCE, BY HAPPENING TO BE AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME.” Ecclesiastes 9:11 (Living Bible) Emphasis mine.
“God had told Abram, “Leave your own country behind you, and your own people, and go to the land I will guide you to.” Genesis 12:1 (Living Bible)
“Jehovah appeared to him there and told him, “Don’t go to Egypt. Do as I say and stay here in this land. If you do, I will be with you and bless you, and I will give all this land to you and to your descendants, just as I promised Abraham your father.” Genesis 12:2-3 (Living Bible)

Beloved, don’t just pitch your tent anywhere because it looks good. The top of a tree may look good to a fish but if it gets out of the water, it will look stupid climbing a tree. The water may look interesting to a monkey but if it gets in there, he will not only struggle, it will die. There is a place for you, let God guide you. This does not only refer to where you choose to live but also the career or the profession you choose to be involved in. There is a place where success becomes natural for you, find it.

May you find your place in life and destiny. May you be at the right place and at the right time in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God guide me to my place of success in destiny in Jesus name.

Success Secrets 4

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Proverbs 13:20

When you choose your associates, you have chosen to be a success or a failure. Choosing associates is like choosing a taxi or a bus. You end up wherever the bus is ending. Walk with people who love God and who are committed to His will for their lives and are being led by Him. You cannot be led by God and not be successful (Psalm 1, Joshua 1). It is a breakthrough success to find a successful company to join and to keep.

The company you keep will make you become something. Jesus said in Mathew 4:19, “……… Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Who you follow determines what follows you and what you eventually become. If you enter the company of the Prophets, you will prophesy. If you join the company of the successful, you will become a success. When Judas decided to keep company with the enemy of Jesus, he too became an enemy of Jesus. It is your responsibility to choose the company you keep. When Laban took in Jacob, his little became much. When Potiphar took in Joseph, he became prosperous. Choose who you walk with so that you will become a success. Fortunately, friendship is not by force, it is by choice.

May you be a success in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, connect me with the right people for a successful life n Jesus name.

Success Secrets 3

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38

Your head must not lack oil if you want to be a success. You must be anointed. If Jesus was anointed to make things happen, you too must be anointed to be a success.

Let me quickly say this, every child of God carries a degree of the anointing. You cannot be born again without the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life. But if you really want to be a success as a Christian you must grow in the anointing. Anointing is the presence of God in your life, the Holy Spirit upon you and in you. Men of the old testament could not do without the presence of God. No Christian can make it in this wicked world without the anointing. The anointing will bring you out of obscurity into the limelight. The anointing will turn you into another man.

“Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.” 1 Samuel 16:18
“And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.” 1 Samuel 10:6
“And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.” Luke 4:14

You can always turn a situation of failure to a situation of success if you become anointed. Spend time with God continuously and regularly until you are anointed.

Prayer for today: Oh God anoint me with the Holy Ghost and power in Jesus name.

Success Secrets 2

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28

Be blessed and stay in the blessing to be a success.

It is impossible to be a success under a curse; you must carry the blessing if you want to be a success (Read Numbers 22:6, Deut 28). The blessing gives you the power to become a success. God blessed man after creating them to empower them to be a success. Until God blessed Abraham in Genesis 12, his story did not change. In Genesis 27, both Esau and Jacob wanted the blessing desperately because it is a prerequisite for success. There are levels of blessing, the greatest level is to be blessed by God. If you are blessed by God, you cannot be cursed by men. Numbers 23:8 says, “How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied?”

One of our salvation packages is redemption from the curse of the law and connection to Abrahamic blessing. Galatians 3:13-14 says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” So legally speaking no child of God is under any curse. However, you must understand that you need to stay in obedience to God and His word to enjoy His blessing. Disobedience brings curses while obedience brings blessings. 2 Corinthians 10:6 says, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

May you walk in the blessing of God to be a success in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to walk in obedience in order to enjoy Your blessing in all areas of my life in Jesus name.

Success Secrets 1

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

Build yourself to become a success.

Information and revelation are keys to building yourself to become a success. When you have information, you become a leader among men but when you have a revelation, you become a god among men (John 10:35, Daniel 5:11, Genesis 41:38-39).

Information is the things that are revealed by flesh and blood; Revelation is the things that are revealed by God (Mathew 16:17). If you are well informed in your field of endeavor, you become a leader. Never leave any stone unturned, work hard to know more so that you will not be set aside (1 Samuel 18:29-30). More importantly, study and meditate on the word of God so that you can walk in good success by dealing wisely in all affairs of life. The revelation comes by meditation on the word and spending time with God. Psalm 1:2-3 says, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Read the word of God. Think the word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Have a Spiritual mentor to guide you. Spend time in prayer based on the word. Let the word of the Lord come to you then failure will be an alien to your life.

May your failures be turned to success. May you be hungry for information and revelation in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God empower me to become a success in every area of my life in Jesus name.

Reach forth! 2

“The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:” Deuteronomy 1:6

Reach forth to a new mark in your life. Challenge your mount of comfort. Challenge the red sea and Jericho wall that wants you to stay on the same spot. Challenge the storms roaring against your desire to reach forth.

The Israelite stayed for about forty years in Mount Horeb. It was as if they were tied down there and have become so comfortable that they were no longer willing to proceed to the promised land. Moses challenged them to leave Mount Horeb and go forward. Some people may not actually want to reach forth because they are comfortable in their present situation. But God asked me to tell such people, you are not there yet, reach forth spiritually and physically.

Most people are actually trying to reach forth but for the “red sea” like and “Jericho wall” like situation, trying to hinder them. To such I declare that the red sea shall divide and the Jericho wall shall collapse in Jesus name. These obstacles are there first to tell you that reaching forth is important to your destiny. If it is not important, the devil will not try to hinder you. Secondly the obstacles are challenging your conviction to go to greater height. Lastly, it is an opportunity for you to search out what you should do to overcome them. For Moses at the red sea in Exodus 14, the people only had to move forward despite the red sea while Moses had to use his rod. While at the Jericho wall, they only had to walk around it for seven days and then shout a great shout on the last day.

Perhaps you are reaching forth but a storm has aroused. Speak to the storm and it will obey you as He did to Jesus when He and his disciples were trying to reach forth to the other side in Mark 4. I am in agreement with you that the storm is over in Jesus.

Beloved, reach forth, it is time to take new territories in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I am reaching forth to a greater height in all areas of my life in Jesus name.

Reach forth! 1

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” Philippians 3:13

You are not there yet, reach forth.

As long as you are in this world, there are more to do spiritually and physically. You must keep on receiving a vision from the Lord and running with it. Don’t be deterred by either the success or failure of yesterday.

You must forget the past, both the good and the bad, the successes and the failures if you want to reach forth.  You can learn from them but you cannot hold onto them. A lot of people are busy doing two things, they want to reach forth to the new thing but they are still holding to the past thing so they are struggling. The enemy of the glorious future is the past, whether good or bad, you know some people are still celebrating the trophy they won years ago, they are on the same spot, while some people are still lamenting the failure they had years ago and so remain in the same spot also.

The success of yesterday is gone so also the failure of yesterday. You used to speak in tongues and cast out devils, thank God for that, but reach forth to more spiritual gifts. You used to be the best in your field, yes, we give God the Glory but there are greater things ahead of you, reach forth. Even if you failed yesterday, don’t stay there, reach forth. The past is always going to be the way it was, stop trying to change it. A man of God said don’t lament what you cannot amend.

God asked me to tell you, there is a glorious future ahead of you. Reach forth, don’t allow your past to steal your future.

Prayer for today: I am reaching forth to new things in Jesus name.

The King’s thought

“And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:32
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” Provers 23:7a

Kings think big. Your kingship is as a result of the fact that God dwells in you through His Spirit, think big so that God will do big things through you.
Kings always think possibilities. Impossibility is not in their diaries. They dare the territories from where others are running away. They knew that they were anointed to make things happen. David said to Saul the ex-anointed king of Israel and tallest man in the land that no one should be afraid, He would take Goliath on. That is the thinking of an anointed king. The rest is history. Goliath was wasted almost with a bare hand by a young, inexperienced boy but anointed a king. Paul said in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” He also said in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Never doubt the anointing of the king in you and upon you. Go forward and execute the vision that God has given you with the boldness of a king.
May the kingship in you be activated. May you see results of the anointed king in your daily life in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: Oh God, do big things through my life in Jesus name.

The King’s word

“Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” Ecclesiastes 8:4

Kings know the importance of words and they don’t joke with it. The lives of people and the territory are determined by the words of the King. Kings are in control through their words.

The Bible calls you a king, this means your words are not only important, but they are also powerful. Rev 5:10 says, “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Hear what a centurion said to the First Born in our family in Mathew 8:8, “The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” The Centurion knew that Jesus’s words were not limited by distance and were powerful enough to effect the much-needed changes in the lives of people. And in Luke 10:17, “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” The disciples also witnessed their words bringing changes to the lives of people. Beloved, your words can heal the sick, cast out devils, change situations, change your life and that of others. This is because you are a king and belong to the family of kings.

Two old testament scriptures are important to this revelation. The fist is Job 22: 28 which says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” The other is Isaiah 45:11, “Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.”

The implication of this is that you can make things happen and change things around you through the use of your words.

You are a king equipped with words of power.

Prayer for today: I take authority over my divine allocation and territory, I subdue all opposing forces and I enforce the plans and the purposes of God in Jesus name.
