The necessity of hope

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Colossians 1:27

In the past eight days, I have been talking about faith, specifically winning the faith fight. Let us now talk about hope. In Christian life, three ingredients are very important. They are faith, hope, and love.

When there is no hope, faith becomes incapacitated. Faith becomes a substance when hope is in place. If you are not hopeless, you are not faithless. If you are a believer in Christ, you are not hopeless neither is your situation hopeless. When Christ is in you, you can hope for a glorious conclusion or end of any situation or circumstances.

I don’t know what situation you are passing through right now. Long term failure? Barrenness at old age? Long term poverty? Long term sickness? Long term battles? But I have good news for you. It will end well and positively. Why? Because when Christ is in you, you can hope for a glorious ending. Do not be like Zechariah who lost hope of having a child in Luke 1. When the Angel spoke to him, he doubted because he was hopeless. His commitment worked for him, God still gave him a child at old age. But he was punished for his unbelief. Be like Paul in Acts 27 who had hope that they would all be saved despite the storm. And they all did!

Beloved, I see ahead of you a glorious conclusion, be hopeful.

Prayer for today: I am hopeful because Christ is in me in Jesus name.
