“Let not
your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s
house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John
14:1-3
As Christians, we also have an eternal
hope.
Jesus has promised us mansions in
heaven. And His promises are ye and amen (2Cor 1:20). Beyond this tempestuous
world, there is an eternal place of rest for all believers in Christ. A place
where God will wipe away every tear from our eyes; there shall be no more
death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former
things have passed away (Rev 21:4). An invitation to receive Christ is also an
invitation to the marriage supper of the Lamb for those who receive Him and
maintain their faith in Him on earth.
His life displayed two important
aspects of our eternal hope which is the resurrection of the dead and the
rapture of the saint.
1.
The dead in Christ shall be resurrected
because Jesus Christ resurrected after three days. 1 Corinthians 15: 20-21
says, “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of
those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the
resurrection of the dead.”
2.
There shall be taken away of the saint
(rapture) because Christ ascended into heaven. Acts 1:9 says, “Now when He had
spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received
Him out of their sight.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 says, “For the Lord Himself
will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with
the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet
the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore
comfort one another with these words.”
Beloved, you have hope both in this
world and in the world to come.
Prayer
for today: My hope is built on Christ the solid rock upon whom I stand in
all situations in Jesus name.
