Maintain your winning strategy

“And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the Lord thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand. Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the Lord, he delivered them into thine hand.” 2 Chronicles 16:7-8

As believers, we win by relying on God and not by relying on men. Never forget that, it does not matter the size of our enemy, the intensity of the battle or difficulty of the situation, we rely totally and absolutely on God who can never ever fail. Men have their own parts in your destiny when they are sent by God. But to put any man in the place of God in your life is detrimental to your destiny.

Asa was winning using this strategy. But he changed strategy to trust the king of Syria who God wanted to deliver into his hand when Baasha came to lay a siege against him. He took the precious vessels in the house of God and in his palace to make a treaty with the king of Syria. The king of Syria went to attack the cities that belong to Baasha so he left Asa alone. Asa used the same materials that Baasha left to build cities for himself. He had temporary success but he had compromised his winning strategy. That was the beginning of his downfall.

Beloved, learn to talk to God first, learn to get a direction from God and to obey Him. This is the evidence that you rely on God. When you do, you will always win in every situation you find yourself.

You shall end this year better than you started it in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I ask that the Hand of the Lord be mighty upon my life, so that I will only look unto Him and not unto men in Jesus name.
