“But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord,…….." Micah 3:8 KJV
The prophet Micah declared, “But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord.” It is a tragedy, and indeed a sin, for a Christian to be powerless (Ephesians 6:10). How can you be born of the Spirit and yet lack the Spirit’s power? (John 3:8; John 1:12). The Lord has given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19), yet without spiritual power we cannot exercise that authority. We need this divine empowerment to subdue the forces of darkness (Psalm 66:3), to break every yoke that limits our destiny (Genesis 27:40), and to enforce the victory already won for us in Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57). In a wicked world where the dark places of the earth are full of cruelty (Psalm 74:20), being powerless leaves one vulnerable to the enemy’s devices. Even the fulfilment of God’s promises and prophetic words in our lives often depends on our being endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49).
The measure of God’s power in your life determines the measure of your impact and greatness on earth (Ephesians 1:19; Ephesians 3:20). Jesus Himself, though the Son of God, returned “in the power of the Spirit” before His ministry shook the world (Luke 4:14). Elijah outran Ahab’s chariot by supernatural strength (1 Kings 18:46). Samson tore a lion apart and defeated armies because the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him (Judges 14:6; Judges 15:14-15). The secret is tarrying in God’s presence, cultivating intimacy with Him, and waiting until His power clothes you (Isaiah 40:31; Acts 1:8, Philippians 3:10). Do not settle for a powerless Christianity, seek His presence until you are endued with fresh power, for it is only then that you can walk in the consistent victory, authority, and dominion ordained for you by your new birth.
Prophetic word: I prophesy over your life today that you will not walk in weakness, timidity, or defeat, but in the strength of the Lord. I declare that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is quickening your spirit, soul, and body right now. I decree that your eyes will shift from your limitations to the Lord your Strength, and you will receive a fresh anointing that will cause you to rise in authority. From this day forward, I prophesy that you will walk in greater boldness, subduing every force that contends against you, and by the hand of the Lord and the power of His Spirit, you shall prevail. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Spirit and the power You have made available to me through the finished work of Christ. Today, I reject every form of spiritual weakness, fear, and powerlessness. Endue me with fresh fire and boldness, O Lord. Let Your power rest upon me to subdue every force of darkness resisting my destiny. I declare that by the Spirit of the Lord, I am more than a conqueror. I decree that from this day, I will walk in victory, authority, and dominion, and my life will be a testimony of Your power. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
