“Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” Job 14:1 (KJV).
I was shocked by the news of a young executive who
committed suicide in Nigeria. The reality of this life is that it is full of
trouble, but we will always overcome if we put our trust in God. We are
definitely in a trying time, so it is important for us to remember that we have
a God who can sustain us. Put your trust in Him. He is the only unfailing
anchor in life. Psalms 20:7-9 “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but
we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen:
but we are risen, and stand upright. Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we
call.” Psalms 125:1, “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which
cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that
wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings
as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not
faint.”
In times of trouble and uncertainty, the Bible
provides numerous examples of individuals who placed their trust in God and
experienced His faithfulness. Consider the story of Daniel in the lion's den.
Despite facing a terrifying situation, Daniel’s unwavering trust in God saved
him from certainty of death. Daniel 6:23 says, "Then was the king
exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of
the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found
upon him, because he believed in his God." Similarly, David, before facing
Goliath, expressed his complete confidence in God's deliverance. In 1 Samuel
17:37, David said, “The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the
paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” These stories
remind us that when we place our trust in God, He is faithful to protect and
guide us through our darkest moments. Proverbs 3:5–6 encourages us, “Trust in
the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In
all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Let these
examples inspire us to rely on God’s strength and wisdom, knowing that He is
our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalms 46:1).
Prophetic Declaration: I declare that as you place your trust in
God, you will experience His unending peace and steadfast protection. The
troubles of this life will not overwhelm you, for the Lord is your refuge and
your strength. You shall be like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures
forever. Every challenge and obstacle before you will be brought down, and you
will rise and stand upright. You will renew your strength like the eagles; you
will run and not be weary, you will walk and not faint. The Lord’s favor will
surround you as a shield, and His grace will be sufficient for you in every
circumstance. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we come before You with
hearts full of trust and faith. We acknowledge that life is filled with
challenges, but we are confident in Your unfailing love and support. Lord, we
ask for Your strength and guidance in these trying times. Help us to remember
that You are our rock and fortress, and we can rely on You completely.
Father, we lift up those who are struggling with despair and hopelessness. May Your comforting presence envelop them, and may they find solace in Your promises. Renew their strength, Lord, and give them the courage to face each day with hope and confidence in You.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the assurance that You are always with us. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We trust in Your perfect plan for our lives and declare that we will stand firm in our faith, knowing that You are our God. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
