Making this December the best

“And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.” John 2:10

The story of the miracle at the marriage of Cana of Galilee is a very familiar story. Jesus was in at the wedding with His disciples. His mother was there too. Then the wine finished and Jesus’ mother approached him.  Jesus told them what to do.  When they did it, the water became wine. When the ruler of the feast tasted it, he was surprised. He said the best wine had come at the last hour. In this last month, God will replace your finished wine with the best wine in Jesus name.

There are few things that I want us to learn from this story.
The first is the fact that the presence of Jesus alone will not change the course of things. He has to be approached or brought in. Yes, the wine had to finish because people were drinking it. The fact that Jesus was present did not prevent the wine from finishing. Just like the story in Mark 4, there was a storm despite the fact that Jesus was in the boat. But when His attention was called into the matter, He spoke to stop the storm. Learn to get Jesus into the situations that are not in order in your life. Learn to talk to Him about what you even consider small in your life. He is willing to reverse the irreversible, do the impossible and change your situation.
The second is that it does not matter the hour if there is a word, there will be an opportunity to experience a miracle. The word may come as a command or as an instruction or even as a blessing. God’s manifestation in this world is through His word and His Spirit.
“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Psalms 107:20
The third is that the manifestation of God in your life depends on your response to His word.
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” Hebrews 4:2
To enjoy the miracle of God, you only have to believe and act on His word.  The best wine came not because it was the last hour but because they did the word.
The fourth is that the least of God is better than the best of men. You have time for every other thing except for God. You can give to any other cause but not God’s. You depend so much on your strength and you think that is what has been working for you. You are really missing on what God can do for a submissive and obedient child of His. Walking in God’s grace is far better than merely surviving on man’s strength.
May you receive an instruction from the Lord. May you trust and obey Him. May you experience the best of this year in this last month in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: Oh God let your good days break on me in Jesus name.
