“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as
a lion.” Proverbs 28:1
A Lion is characterized by
boldness and strength. Proverbs 30:30 says, “A lion which is strongest among
beasts, and turneth not away for any;” Our text this morning says, “.. the
righteous are as bold as a Lion” The boldness of a righteous is likened to the
boldness of a lion. Every Christian has righteousness imputed in him through
Jesus Christ. 2 Cor 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew
no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
“And one of the elders saith unto
me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath
prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” Revelations
5:5
“Now when they saw the boldness of
Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they
marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”
Acts 4:13
Jesus was known for boldness and
He was described as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Beloved as a Christian you
are a Lion endowed with strength and boldness. If Jesus prevailed, you have
prevailed. Let the Lion in you roar to conquer the wickedness of men and to
possess your possessions. Let the righteousness that you have obtained through
Christ be seen among men to bring glory to His Holy name.
May the Lion in you roar, may all
timidity come to an end in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: Oh God let your
righteousness in me be visible to all men in Jesus name.
