The ‘I’ in God

“This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.”  1 Samuel 17:46 KJV.

The “I” in God is the secret of supernatural confidence and triumph. David, facing the giant Goliath, declared without fear, “This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand… that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” His bold “I will kill you today” was not the arrogance of human strength, but the utterance of a man conscious of God’s presence and power. Likewise, Jesus proclaimed, “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30), revealing the union that makes divine authority flow through mortal lips. When your “I” is rooted in God, you can pursue goals far beyond your natural capacity, because it is no longer merely you who speaks or acts, but God working through you.

Paul captured this mystery when he declared, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). Moses, though hesitant at first, stood before Pharaoh because God assured him, “Certainly I will be with thee” (Exodus 3:12). Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, confident that the God who answers by fire would vindicate his faith (1 Kings 18:36-39). These are all boasts of an “I” anchored in divine covenant. Your covenant advantage is that you, too, can boast in the Lord, stepping into challenges with the assurance that His power makes your “I” unstoppable. Let your “I” always be hidden in the great “I AM.”

Prophetic word: Thus says the Lord: “My child, I am placing My boldness within you. No giant shall intimidate you, and no obstacle shall stand undefeated before you, for I have made you one with Myself. As David faced Goliath and declared victory before the battle began, so shall you speak with confidence, knowing that My power flows through your words. I am the Great I AM, and when you say ‘I will,’ in Me, it shall be established. Step forward, for new territories await you. Dreams once thought impossible shall unfold before your eyes. My strength shall perfect your weakness, and My glory shall be revealed through your testimony. Fear not, for I am with you.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You that my “I” is hidden in You, the Great I AM. I receive the confidence of David, the boldness of Elijah, and the assurance of Christ Himself, who declared oneness with You. Let every fear dissolve and every limitation shatter as I stand in the truth that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Empower me, Lord, to speak boldly, to act courageously, and to pursue the impossible, knowing You are with me. Let Your name be glorified through every victory in my life, and let the world know that there is a God living inside me. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
