“And he came near, and kissed him: and he
smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of
my son is as the smell of a field which the Lord hath blessed: Therefore God
give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of
corn and wine: Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord
over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every
one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.” Genesis 27:27-28
Our text
this morning is the blessings that Isaac pronounced on Jacob when he pretended
to be Esau. If the blessings had rested on him, three things would have
happened according Genesis 27:37
1.
The blessing was to make
him Lord over Esau.
2.
The blessing was to make
all his brethren to become his servants
3.
The blessing was to make
him to have abundance of grain and wine to sustain him.
It is
evident that the blessings did not rest on him if you look at what happened to
him from the time the blessing was pronounced till he met God in Genesis 32.
However, that is not my point this morning. My point this morning is that you
can pray these blessings into your life.
As you pray
these blessings into your life, may your prayers be answered in Jesus name.
Prayer for today: Oh God, let the blood of Jesus wash away whatever is resisting your
blessings in my life in Jesus name.
