“Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.” 1 Kings 18:19 KJV
Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab, was fiercely devoted to her false gods. She poured her influence, wealth, and energy into promoting Baal and Asherah’s worship, personally sponsoring hundreds of prophets. Her story shows the power of commitment and how zeal, when misdirected, can corrupt a nation. If that same passion had been channelled toward God, Jezebel could have led Israel into revival instead of ruin.
Sadly, many believers today lack that same zeal for the true God. Some find it hard to pray, give, or serve, while Jezebel was more dedicated to her idols than they are to their Father, the true living God. True Christianity demands visible fruit, faith in action. It also calls us to pray for our leaders, because when those in power reject God, nations drift into darkness. But when believers rise with holy passion and righteous influence, the power of God can sweep across the land and bring revival.
Prophetic Word: I declare that the spirit of zeal for God’s house will consume you! You will not be lukewarm or indifferent, but fully devoted to advancing God’s Kingdom in your generation. Every influence you carry will bring glory to God, in Jesus’ name!
Prayer: Lord, ignite in me a holy passion for Your Kingdom. Let my influence,
resources, and voice be used for Your glory. Raise righteous leaders in our
nations, and let the earth be filled with Your glory as the waters cover the
sea, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
