“For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s.” 1 Chronicles 5:2 KJV
What is the value of a right you possess but cannot experience? Many
people carry promises, prophecies, and spiritual inheritances, yet lack the
manifestation of them. Scripture reveals a powerful truth: the scepter is given
to those who prevail, not merely to those who have entitlement. A birthright
without dominion is only a document without reality. Reuben lost his birthright
through iniquity (1 Chronicles 5:1). Joseph received the birthright, yet the
rulership came through Judah because he prevailed. Joseph had the legal
position; Judah had the prevailing power. One had the document; the other had
the dominion. This teaches us that inheritance alone is not enough; prevailing
enforces possession.
Jacob was blessed prophetically years before he experienced the reality
of that blessing (Genesis 32:28). It was not until he wrestled and prevailed
that his identity shifted from Jacob to Israel. Prevailing activates promise.
Until you prevail, you may live beneath what heaven has already written
concerning you. As a believer, many things belong to you according to Scripture
that include peace, authority, favor, increase, dominion. But entitlement is
not enforcement. You must prevail in prayer, prevail in character, prevail in
obedience, and prevail in faith if you are to see manifestation. A prince who
does not prevail may walk like a servant (Ecclesiastes 10:7). But when you
prevail with God and with men, what is written concerning you becomes established
in your life.
Prophetic Word: I
declare that you will not carry empty promises. You will prevail in the place
of prayer and in the affairs of life. Every blessing written concerning you
shall become visible reality. Where you have struggled, you will now overcome.
Where you have been delayed, you will now advance. You shall enforce your
birthright and walk in dominion, in Jesus’ name.
