Recovering the Lost Axe Head

“But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas master! For it was borrowed. And the man of God said, where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim” 2Kings 6:5-6.

It is absolutely impossible to cut a tree without the axe head no matter the strength of the person doing the cutting. The axe head represents an instrument that delivers the result when force is applied or effort is made. If your efforts have not been delivering the corresponding results, it may be that the “Axe Head” is missing and needs to be recovered.

Elisha in our passage went with his servants to cut trees for the expansion of the ministry and in the process, a borrowed axe head fell into the water. Elisha recovered the axe head by throwing a stick into the water. Now note that a stick is a small fragment of what the axe head will deliver when a tree is cut; in other words it is a seed of the expected result.

Beloved, hear the word of the Lord: to recover an instrument to deliver an expected result, sow a seed of the result you expect. If you want to recover your ability to love, sow a seed of love; if you want to recover money making ability, sow a seed of money; if you want to recover lost relationship, sow a seed by relating to people.

It is well with you.
