“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:2-3
In the beginning, when the earth was without form and void, God’s first creative word was, “Let there be light.” This divine utterance broke the power of darkness and introduced order, purpose, and beauty. In the same way, when our lives seem empty, directionless, or overwhelmed by confusion, the first thing we need is light. Light represents understanding, revelation, and divine intervention. The Psalmist says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” (Psalm 119:130). As God’s Word enters your life today, may it pierce every darkness and illuminate your next steps. The same God who commanded light out of darkness is able to shine in your heart to give “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Throughout the Bible, whenever people encountered darkness—whether it was fear, confusion, sin, or despair—God provided light. David declared, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1). When the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh and the Red Sea, a pillar of fire lit their path and protected them through the night (Exodus 14:20). Jesus Himself said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). Darkness flees when light comes. May every dark situation in your life give way to the light of God. Declare it in faith—Let there be light!—and expect divine revelation, guidance, and deliverance.
Prophetic word: “My light shall break forth in your life like the morning sun. Where there has been confusion, I will give clarity. Where there has been delay, I will release acceleration. I am removing the veil, and I am causing My light to shine upon your path. You shall no longer walk in circles, but you shall walk in revelation. Every form of formlessness, emptiness, and darkness around you shall be transformed by My Word. Even as I said in the beginning, ‘Let there be light,’ so I declare over your life—Let there be light in your finances, in your relationships, in your purpose, in your ministry, in your mind, and in your soul. You will no longer stumble in the dark. My Word will guide you, and My light will lead you into the place of victory and fulfillment.” Saith the Lord.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for being the God who speaks light into darkness. Today, I declare over every area of my life that seems formless, void, or covered by the shadow of confusion—Let there be light! Father, let Your Word come with power, bringing revelation, direction, and restoration. Shine Your light upon my path, illuminate the hidden traps of the enemy, and give me the wisdom to walk in truth. Just as Your Spirit hovered over the waters before creation, let Your Spirit move over every aspect of my life and birth something new. I receive divine insight, I receive supernatural clarity, and I declare that darkness has no place in me. Thank You, Lord, for the light of Your glory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
