“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
The second coming of Christ is not an escape route but a moment of glorious reward for those who have fought the good fight of faith and finished their course. As Paul declared in 2 Timothy 4:7–8, our crowns await us, not for those who merely endured, but for those who prevailed with steadfast hearts. This is the time to rise with the courage of a lion and the vision of an eagle. If you have fallen, arise! (Micah 7:8) Dust off discouragement and press forward toward the high calling in Christ (Philippians 3:13–14). While waiting for His return, do not be idle, occupy till He comes (Luke 19:13). Rule your sphere, expand your territory, and live intentionally as one who knows that all things work together for your good (Romans 8:28).
The ancient song we used to sing says, “I am a winner all the time, I am a success and not a failure, I am a winner and not a loser, I am the head and not the tail.” No matter the setback, God can cause your dry tree to blossom again. If you are feeling weak and unable, turn to the Lord and stay there until He equips you and changes your story (Job 14: 7-9,14). Like Jabez, cry out for enlargement (1 Chronicles 4:9–10), and like Peter, cast your net again for a breakthrough (Luke 5:5–6).
Prophetic Word: I declare that every lion roaring against your destiny is silenced; the mountain before you is levelled, and your opposition is giving way in Jesus’ name.
Prayer: O God, I refuse to live an ordinary life; empower me to make my life
count for your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
