“But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.” 2 Kings 6:5-6 (KJV)
The miraculous recovery of the lost axe head in 2 Kings 6:5-6 is a powerful reminder that nothing is beyond God’s ability to restore. Just as Elisha caused the iron to float by the power of God, so too can God intervene supernaturally in your life to restore what was lost. The enemy may have stolen your joy, peace, health, or opportunities, but through Christ, total recovery is possible. The Bible says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 KJV). Jesus’ abundant life promises not only restoration but an overflow of blessings. Like David in 1 Samuel 30:8, you can pursue the enemy, overtake him, and recover all that has been taken from you because God has already given you the victory.
Job received twice as much as he had before after his season of loss and trials (Job 42:10). The prodigal son, though he squandered everything, was restored to his position of sonship by the mercy of the father (Luke 15:22-24). In Joel 2:25, God promises, “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten...” God’s restorative power knows no bounds, and as a believer, you have the authority to take back what the enemy has stolen. Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19 KJV). This is your season of recovery—rise in faith, bind the strong man (Matthew 12:29), and take possession of what rightfully belongs to you. Declare boldly: “I shall recover all in Jesus’ name!”
Prophetic word: Thus says the Lord: This is your season of restoration and recovery! That which the enemy has stolen shall be returned sevenfold. I am the God who makes the impossible possible; just as I caused the axe head to float, I will bring back to the surface all that seemed lost and buried in your life. Do not fear, for I have given you the keys of the Kingdom. You will bind the enemy, and compel him to release what is yours. This is your time to pursue, overtake, and recover all! Every lost opportunity, every stolen blessing, and every broken dream is being restored in greater measure. Lift your eyes to Me, for I am the God who redeems time, restores health, and makes all things new. You will testify of My goodness and My power!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God of restoration and miracles. I stand on Your Word today, believing that nothing is too hard for You. Lord, I bind every work of the enemy that has stolen from my life, and I declare by the authority of Jesus Christ that I shall recover all. I declare restoration over my health, my relationships, my finances, and my purpose. Just as You caused the axe head to float, Lord, bring to the surface everything that has been buried or lost in my life. I claim the promise of Joel 2:25, that You will restore the years that the locust has eaten. Fill me with boldness, faith, and wisdom to pursue and overtake, knowing that victory is mine in Jesus’ name. Thank You, Lord, for the testimonies that will flow from this season of recovery. I give You all the glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
