Don’t look at the wind!

"We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish..." Hebrews 12:2a (New Living)

Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water toward Jesus, demonstrating great faith. However, when he noticed the wind and waves, he became afraid, doubted, and began to sink. This story teaches us that keeping our eyes on Jesus, rather than the circumstances around us, is key to staying afloat in the storms of life. The enemy's strategy is to divert our attention, making us doubt God's word and His promises. But when we focus on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish (Hebrews 12:2), we find the strength to overcome, for He is our firm foundation.

Similarly, in Mark 4:36-39, when the disciples faced a fierce storm, they turned to Jesus, who was in the boat with them. Though they were terrified, their cry for help prompted Him to calm the wind and waves with a word. This reminds us that Jesus has power over every storm we face. As long as He is present in the "boat" of our lives, we have no reason to fear. By standing on His word and trusting in His ability to lead us through, we can be confident that we will not sink, no matter the size of the storm. Beloved, keep your eyes on Jesus; He is faithful and will see you through to the fulfillment of His promises in your life. Amen.

Prophetic word: The Lord says, "Fear not, for I am with you. Though the winds may blow and the waves may rise, you will not sink. I have called you by name, and you are Mine (Isaiah 43:1-2). My hand is upon you, and I am steering your life toward My divine purpose. Keep your eyes fixed on Me, for I am your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). The distractions and doubts around you are but shadows compared to the light of My glory. Be still and know that I am God. I will calm every storm, silence every wind, and lead you to the place of victory and fulfillment I have prepared for you. Trust Me, for I will not fail you."

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for being the author and finisher of our faith. In the midst of life's storms, we fix our eyes on Jesus, who calms every wind and speaks peace into every situation. Lord, help us to trust in Your word and to stand firm, knowing that You are always with us. We rebuke every spirit of fear and doubt in Jesus' name, and we declare that we will walk boldly in faith, trusting in Your promises. Strengthen us to stay focused on You, no matter the distractions around us. Thank You, Lord, for the assurance that we will not sink, and for leading us into the abundant life You have promised. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
