The power of the church!4

“Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.” Acts 15:19-10 KJV

A holy church is a powerful church. The gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church, but compromise, corruption, and decay from within can weaken her strength (Matthew 16:18). In Acts 15, the apostles taught that Gentile believers should not be burdened unnecessarily, yet they must abstain from idolatry, fornication, and things that defile (Acts 15:19–20). This shows that grace does not cancel holiness, and liberty in Christ is not permission for spiritual carelessness. The power of the Church is sustained by obedience, purity, and separation unto God.

Balaam could not curse Israel, but through idolatry and fornication, destruction entered their camp (Numbers 22–25; Numbers 31:16). Samson was anointed and powerful, but when he despised divine boundaries, he became vulnerable (Judges 16). Beloved, what the enemy cannot destroy by direct attack, he may seek to weaken through compromise. Not everything lawful is spiritually profitable (1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:23). Therefore, the Church must reject idolatry, fornication, disobedience, and every form of defilement. A compromising church becomes weak, but a holy and obedient church remains powerful, effective, and indomitable.

Prophetic Word: I declare that the Lord shall keep His Church pure, strong, and victorious. Every spirit of compromise, corruption, and secret decay shall be broken in Jesus’ name. The enemy shall not weaken you from within. You shall not fall into the traps of idolatry, immorality, or disobedience. The grace to obey God at all costs shall rest upon you. You shall remain powerful, effective, and indomitable. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer: Oh God, give me the grace to walk in obedience and holiness. Keep me from every form of compromise, pollution, and spiritual carelessness. Help me to abstain from everything that weakens my walk with You. Preserve the purity and power of Your Church. Let my life bring glory to You, and let Your Church remain strong, holy, and victorious. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
