Esteem God above Challenges!

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” Daniel 3:16-18

Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who boldly declared their unwavering faith in God before King Nebuchadnezzar, we must stand firm in our conviction that God is greater than any trial we face. Their boldness was not rooted in reverence—they esteemed God above the fire, above the king, and above death itself. And God honored their faith by showing up in the fire! The king saw not three but four men walking unharmed in the flames, and declared, “the form of the fourth is like the Son of God” (Daniel 3:24–25). When we esteem God, He shows up with power and presence.

You can despise the size of your Goliath, but never despise God. You can belittle the intimidating Red Sea, but never belittle the One who parts it. You can look at the towering walls of Jericho and laugh, not because they aren't real, but because the God you serve is greater—and those walls must fall! David faced Goliath with no armor but with great faith, proclaiming, “I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts” (1 Samuel 17:45), and with just a stone and a sling, he brought the giant down. Whatever you're facing today—esteem God above it. Speak more about His greatness than your struggle, and watch Him move mountains, part seas, break walls, and shut the mouths of lions (Hebrews 11:33). God responds powerfully to those who honor Him.

Prophetic word: Esteem Me, and I will exalt you. Honor Me above your challenges, and you will see My glory manifested in the fire, in the battle, and in the storm. I am the same God who stood with the three in the furnace, who guided David’s stone, and who brought down the walls of Jericho. Fear not the size of your problem; magnify the greatness of your God. In this season, I am raising a people who will speak boldly of My name and trust Me in the impossible. Your fire will not burn you, your Goliath will not defeat you, and your Red Sea will not drown you. I will be with you in the midst, and you shall emerge as a testimony to My power and faithfulness. Speak of Me, sing of Me, trust in Me—and I will show Myself strong on your behalf,” says the Lord.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, We exalt You above every circumstance, every battle, and every storm. Just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted You above the fire, and David stood boldly before Goliath in Your name, we choose today to esteem You above all else. You are our Deliverer, our Defender, and our ever-present Help in time of need. Lord, forgive us for when we have magnified our challenges more than Your name. We declare now: You are greater than the fire, mightier than the giants, and stronger than any wall before us. Let Your presence walk with us through every trial, and let Your power be seen in our lives. Teach us to speak more of Your glory than our problems, and let our testimony be a sign to the world that our God reigns. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray—Amen.
