Ask for help!

“But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" Matthew 14:30-31 KJV

When Peter saw the wind and waves, fear gripped him, and he began to sink. But the moment he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus immediately reached out His hand and rescued him. This is a powerful reminder that no matter what we go through, God’s help is only a prayer away. Blind Bartimaeus also cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” and refused to be silenced until his sight was restored (Mark 10:46–52). The woman with the issue of blood reached out in faith and touched the hem of His garment, and power flowed into her body (Mark 5:25–34). In every case, the turning point came when they boldly asked for God’s help.

The Word assures us, “Ask, and it shall be given you” (Matthew 7:7), and God Himself declares, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee… I will help thee” (Isaiah 41:10). You are not alone in your journey, the Holy Spirit, your Helper, is with you to strengthen, guide, and empower you (John 15:26 AMP). From King Jehoshaphat crying, “We have no power… but our eyes are upon Thee” (2 Chronicles 20:12), to David declaring, “My help cometh from the Lord” (Psalm 121:2), Scripture overflows with testimonies of divine intervention. One of the most powerful prayers you can pray is a simple, heartfelt: “Oh God, help me.” When you do, heaven moves on your behalf.

Prophetic word: I prophesy over your life today that the Lord is your ever-present help in trouble, and He is moving on your behalf. I declare that every wind that has risen against you is being silenced, and every storm that threatened to overwhelm you is calming at His command. Just as He reached out to Peter, I decree that His mighty hand is stretching forth to lift you from every deep place, to steady your steps, and to lead you into the shore of safety and abundance. I speak Isaiah 43:2 over you, the waves will not drown you, and the fire will not consume you. I declare that in this season, you will see divine intervention, supernatural lifting, and undeniable rescue. Your cry has reached heaven, and your answer is here. This is your moment of help, your hour of deliverance, and your season of victory. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You because You are my refuge, my fortress, and my ever-present help in times of need (Psalm 46:1). Today, I lift my voice like Peter and say, “Lord, save me!” Save me from every storm, every fear, and every burden that seeks to overwhelm me. Father, I receive Your strength to stand, Your peace to calm my heart, and Your wisdom to guide my steps. By faith, I declare that the winds will cease, the waves will obey Your voice, and I will walk securely in Your purpose for my life. Holy Spirit, my Helper, be my constant guide and defender. Thank You, Lord, because my help comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
