Be determined!

“If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?.” Jeremiah 12:5

Challenges may come, but let your resolve be unwavering. Jeremiah 12:5 reminds us that if we grow weary with smaller trials, how will we overcome greater ones? Like David facing Goliath, determination begins with faith in God’s power. David didn’t see the giant as a threat but as an opportunity to glorify God (1 Samuel 17:45-47). The persistent widow in Luke 18 was determined until she was avenged of her adversary. Her determination paid off. So you, too, with determination and trust in God, can face the seemingly impossible. Keep your eyes on the One who equips you to contend with footmen and horses.

Endurance requires looking to Jesus, our ultimate example (Hebrews 12:2). He bore the cross, despising the shame, for the joy set before Him—a joy that included your victory. When Elijah was threatened by Jezebel, he prayed for death, but God renewed his strength, sending an angel with food and encouragement (1 Kings 19:4-8). Don’t let weariness rob you of your destiny. Be resolute like Paul, who declared nothing could separate him from God’s love (Romans 8:38-39). Remember, “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong” (Ecclesiastes 9:11), but to those who trust God’s timing and power. Stand firm, knowing that you are more than a conqueror with God by your side.

Prophetic word: Just as I was with Joshua when he crossed the Jordan, I will be with you. You will go through the waters, and they will not overwhelm you; you will walk through the fire, and it will not consume you (Isaiah 43:2). I am strengthening your hands for battle and your feet to scale heights like the deer (Psalm 18:33-34). Do not be dismayed by the size of the obstacles, for I am the God who makes a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). Hold on to your vision, for it shall not tarry; at the appointed time, it will come to pass. You are destined to triumph, for I am the Lord your banner, and victory is your portion.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your word that assures me of victory. I receive the grace to remain steadfast and determined in the face of challenges. Strengthen my faith to contend with both small and great battles, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Lord, make me bold like David, unwavering like Moses, and resilient like Paul. Empower me to cross every Jordan, scale every mountain, and overcome every valley. I declare that I will not grow weary or faint, for You are renewing my strength. Let every obstacle bow to Your name, and let my life glorify You as I walk in victory. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
