“If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” Job 14:14 KJV
If a challenge persists, do not be discouraged—tarry in God's presence until your breakthrough comes. Job, in his suffering, declared, “If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” Waiting on God is never in vain; it brings renewal of strength, divine intervention, and ultimate victory. Jesus instructed His disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they received power from on high (Luke 24:49). Elijah, too, persisted in prayer, sending his servant seven times before the rain finally came (1 Kings 18:43-44). Likewise, the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 received justice because she refused to give up. Tarrying in prayer aligns you with God’s will and releases His power to break any bondage, even those reinforced by long-standing covenants.
God has given a sure promise in Isaiah 49:24-26 that even lawful captives shall be delivered, for He will contend with those who contend with you. No matter how strong the opposition, God's intervention is greater. He invites you in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” When you wait on the Lord, He renews your strength (Isaiah 40:28-31), causing you to rise above trials like an eagle soaring above the storm. Therefore, if the problem persists, persist in His presence—your change will surely come!
Prophetic word: The Lord says to you: Tarry, for your breakthrough is now! Though the battle may seem prolonged, I am the God who answers in due season. Just as I brought Job through his trials into a double portion of blessing, I will turn your mourning into dancing and your captivity into testimony (Job 42:10). Do not grow weary, for I am strengthening you even in the waiting. As you persist in My presence, I will break every chain, overturn every evil covenant, and establish My perfect will in your life. The mighty will not hold you captive, for I have decreed your release (Isaiah 49:24-26). I am the Lord who hears and answers prayer—what seems impossible will become possible as you tarry in faith. Your time of refreshing and renewal is here; behold, I do a new thing! (Isaiah 43:19).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before You in faith, knowing that You are the God who never fails. Lord, strengthen me as I wait upon You, renewing my spirit like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Every persistent battle in my life, I bring before Your throne—let Your power break every chain, shatter every stronghold, and release me into victory in Jesus’ name! I stand on Your promise in Isaiah 49:25, that even the captives of the mighty shall be delivered; therefore, I decree my freedom now! Father, contend with those who contend with me and cause every delay to turn into divine acceleration. As I tarry in Your presence, reveal mighty and hidden things (Jeremiah 33:3), and let my change come swiftly. I declare that my testimony is now, and I shall see the manifestation of Your power in my life. Thank You, Lord, for answering my prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
