The man with a right heart

“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

As we begin a new month today, may your heart be right before God. When God sent Samuel to the house of Jesse to anoint a man to take the place of Saul, He was looking for a man with a right heart. God found the right heart in David. Eliab had the stature and the countenance, but he failed at heart. He was too proud for God to use. The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. God always looks for a humble heart. Even Saul was chosen because he had a humble heart and when he became proud he was rejected. The best of God is for those who are willing to submit in humility to God.

“Samuel said, "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.” 1 Samuel 15:17

“And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?” Luke 17:17.

In addition to a humble heart, God also prefers those who are grateful at heart. Jesus asked about the other ungrateful nine lepers when only one showed up with gratitude. Paul admonished us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks in all circumstances because it is God's will for us in Christ Jesus. If you are always concentrating on the negative, you will not be able to see the good things God has done for you. This is dangerous because it will give you a sad heart and an ungrateful heart. God prefers a humble and grateful heart whenever He wants to lift a man.

May you be lifted by God this month in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me a right heart and renew a right spirit within me in Jesus name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Answer in times of trouble

“So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.” Isaiah 28:16 (NIV)

God is your answer in times of trouble. God is tested and proven to be reliable. Do not be hasty in His presence. In any situation, learn to come alone into God’s presence, switch off your phones, don’t let your mind wander around, be focused on Him, talk to Him as a person close to you, and expect a miracle. If you do this, one, two, or all of these will happen: If you need protection or security, you will have it; if you need direction, you will receive it; and if you need a favor, you will access it. If you have any of these, your trouble is defeated.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3

Can you imagine that you suddenly find yourself in a situation where you have to pay a bill you cannot afford? If you have someone who has committed to paying any bill you incur no matter the amount, you will not panic, if the person can be trusted. God is unlimited in resources, in power, and in space. His hands reach everywhere and He has promised to be there for you.

May you experience God now and always in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God arise and help me, in Jesus name.

Fear the Lord

“And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Job 28:28

I speak to you about the fear of the Lord as reverence of His personality and His glory. This is the prerequisite to carrying His presence, which is the greatest blessing a man can experience on earth. Joseph said to Potiphar’s wife, “how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” The strength of your character is determined by your fear of the Lord. What do you do when no man is watching? What do you do in secret? How would men describe you and your character? You cannot fear the Lord and do wickedness. The fear of the Lord will not allow you to be visited with evil.

“The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.” Proverbs 19:23

“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” Proverbs 14:27

I don’t really care to know how financially rich you are, if you don’t have the fear of the Lord you are poor and at the same time a fool. You are in danger of the snare of death. Even as a slave in Potiphar’s house, Joseph was said to be prosperous because he feared the Lord and the presence of the Lord was with him. If you fear the Lord, you will love righteousness and depart from iniquity. This will attract the anointing of God upon your life. It is the beginning of wisdom.

May you walk in the fear of the Lord in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to reverence you with my life in Jesus name.

Step up your spiritual height

“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.” Revelation 4:1

You need a change of spiritual level to experience great and mighty things, which you did not know. It is your responsibility to step up and take a new spiritual level. You must change your level of spiritual inputs to experience a new level of outputs, physically and spiritually. Physical breakthroughs are preceded by spiritual breakthroughs. Hear the word of the Lord, come up here so that you can see and experience new and greater things in your life through the working of my power.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Now the first thing you need is an accurate assessment of your spiritual levels. Do you fellowship with God regularly? How often do you fast, pray, and study God’s word? What is your input on God’s work? Do you evangelize, give, and engage in helping others? Is your obedience partial or total? Do you hear God regularly? What is your faith level? What is your level of anointing? After doing this, you must take action to step up. Increase your investment of time and energy in the aforementioned areas. If you do, you will position yourself to have greater testimonies of the manifestation of God in every area of your life.

May you ascend a greater height in God, in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God give me a passion for spiritual growth, do not let me be comfortable until I have made conscious efforts to grow spiritually in Jesus name.

Resist the devil

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

You can resist the devil! The devil is the author of confusion. He is a thief; his primary assignments are to kill, steal, and destroy. However, he does not do this anywhere and to everyone. Not because he does not want to but because the people know how to resist him to flee. You can also make your life and territory a forbidden area for the devil by submitting to God and resisting the devil.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

“And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:6

Three things are important here. The first is total submission to God. You cannot serve the living God and any other at the same time, and you should not keep the devil’s property in or around you. The second is that you should walk in obedience at all costs. The third is that you should tell the devil to leave you and your territory alone.

May your territory be free from demonic invasion in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I resist the devil and command him to flee in Jesus name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want

Fight ignorance

“And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12:47-48

Fight both spiritual and physical ignorance with all your strength. One of our greatest enemies is ignorance. Ignorance and rejection of knowledge are sources of foolishness. What actually destroys a man is what he does not know or his choice not to make use of the truth he knows. What is easy to do is also easy not to do. God said in Hosea 4:6 that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Jesus said in John 8:32 that you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Jesus came as a light to this world. If you actually know Jesus and you do what He tells you, you will not have any problem dealing with sin, sickness, and satan.

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:5

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” Matthew 7:24

Whenever you are afraid, there is something you don’t know. Whenever you are struggling, there is something you don’t know. If the enemy seems to be defeating you, there is something you don’t know. Now you don’t need to know everything but you need to know what you need to know. What do you do? Study the word of God for revelation purposes. Listen to people who have done what you want to do. Don’t only go to church to dance, listen to the message, and go home with a word to work with. Read books that are relevant to what you are looking for. Always come out with an action plan from any information you have gathered. Do the plan.

May every form of ignorance be terminated in your life in Jesus name.

Prayer for today : Oh God, help me to know what I need to know to fulfill my destiny in Jesus name.
