Avoid negative attitudes 1

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:5. (KJV)

In most cases, our attitudes and perspectives determine the outcome of our lives. What matters is not what happens, but what we do with what happens, or how we handle it. Your attitude determines who you attract into your life. Negative attitudes can hinder God and those He has sent to us to help us; we must avoid them. Specifically, if you want God in your life, you must avoid unbelief, unrepentance, and unforgiveness. If you deal with these three things, God will always move in your life.

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23. (KJV)

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (KJV)

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Mathew 6: 14-15 (KJV)

Be quick to believe God, no matter what you are going through. Unbelief hinders God. Jesus could not help the people of Nazareth because of their unbelief (Mark 6:5). When you make a mistake, be quick to repent. When there are sins we have not repented of in our lives, they hinder God from moving in our lives. Beloved, be quick to forgive others when they offend you. If you want to be forgiven, you must also forgive others.

In Jesus' name, God shall not be hindered in your life.

Prayer for today: Oh God, expose and disgrace negative attitudes in my life in Jesus' name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Be like a child

“And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3. (KJV)

We need a change in attitude to get better results and achieve our goals this year. Jesus talked about us changing and becoming like little children to experience the Kingdom of Heaven. He is speaking of experiencing the kind of peace, progress, and prosperity that is found in heaven on earth. What are the attitudes of a child? Let me mention five of them that are relevant to this message. These are curiosity, excitement, faith, trust, and humility.

“Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.” Mark 9:37. (KJV)

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:10 (KJV)

Being a child means wanting to learn and discover new things. Be teachable and willing to learn like a child. Be joyful no matter what you are going through, knowing that God is in complete control. Have unwavering faith in God. Put your trust in God, just like a child. Humble yourself before God and spread your hands toward Him like a child so that He can lift you.

In Jesus' name, God shall lift you.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let me experience you in every area of my life just like a child in Jesus' name.

There are no casual words

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37. (KJV)

There are no casual words; you must be intentional about your spoken words. The words of a man determine his destiny. Man is an emotional being, and one of the ways he expresses emotion is by speaking. However, every Christian must know that he must be in control of his words, no matter his emotions. Your spoken word can change the reason behind your negative emotions. Your spoken word is your power to change things.

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Ephesians 4:29. (KJV)

“Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:” Numbers 14:28 (KJV)

Beware of foul words; your words are a clear indication of your heart. Beware of negative words; even if you are passing through negative experiences, don’t speak negatively. Your words activate spiritual power that follows the direction of your words. Think about it this way: You can use your word to get into trouble, and you can use your word to get out of trouble. Words are blessings, words are also curses. Use your words to bless yourself, not to curse yourself.

In Jesus' name, you are blessed.

Prayer for today: I cancel every negative word that I have spoken against myself and I pronounce myself blessed, in Jesus' name.

Call on God

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3. (KJV)

If you want to see great and mighty things, call on God. If you want to see things that you desire but have not experienced before, call on God. If you want deliverance from all your trouble, call on God. If adversaries have come against you, call on God. If you desire a miracle, call on God. Divine intervention is just a call away. No matter what comes your way, call God first.

“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Psalms 50:15. (KJV)

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” Matthew 7:7 (KJV)

God will answer you if you call on Him. However, it is important to develop a relationship with Him. Don’t wait for the time of trouble. Don’t stay away from Him in a time of peace and prosperity. Let God know you and call you by your name through regular fellowship with Him. Be an obedient child of God and align yourself with His word. When God is on your side, nothing can defeat you. If you have a solid relationship with Him you will be bold to call on Him and expect answers.

In Jesus' name, may you always experience divine intervention.

Prayer for today: Oh God, see me through all my challenges, in Jesus' name.

The Bible is the solution book

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8. (KJV)

The Bible is the source of solutions for all life's problems. I was listening to Jim Rohn. He said, “The Bible is a good textbook for ideas, stories, and success equations, how to live a better life. The Bible is as practical as it is spiritual. If you look at your bank account, your income and you are not happy, there are several places in the Bible to see what is wrong so you can make changes."  I believe that the Bible is not a mere religious book; it is the book of life.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17. (KJV)

“Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” Proverbs 13:15 (KJV)

If you take the scriptures of the Bible and understand and live by them, your life can never be hard. You can never hear God and remain the same. Moreover, the Bible is God speaking to you. There are no problems in life; there are only deaf ears and disobedient hearts. If you hear from God on anything you call a problem and you do what He says to you, the problem ends.

In Jesus' name, may you gain God’s wisdom from the Bible.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let the Bible be opened to me, in Jesus' name.

Two things you must know

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” Matthew 22:29. (KJV)

Every serious-minded Christian must know the Scriptures and the power of God. This is what will keep you from errors. This is what will make you shine as a Christian. You can only walk in the scriptures and the power that you know. This is what differentiates a Spirit-filled life from a merely religious life. You must dedicate yourself to knowing the Scriptures; ask God to grant you access to the mysteries of His word. Request that God bestow upon you divine power.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15. (KJV)

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49 (KJV)

If you know the Scriptures, you will always know what to do in any situation you find yourself in. When you know the power of God, you will be bold like a lion and become a threat to the enemy. The power of God will burst your bond, break your yoke, and lift your burdens. Sit with the Word and pray for the power of God to rest upon you.

In Jesus' name, may you live an error-free life.

Prayer for today: Oh God, reveal Your word and Your power to me, in Jesus' name.

Go for knowledge 2

“When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?  And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.” John 6:5-6. (KJV)

It is not wrong for adversity or challenges to come; after all, life is full of them. What is wrong is for you not to know what to do. If you don’t know what to do, it means you lack the capability to handle life's situations. May you never be in this kind of situation, in Jesus' name. The key to dealing with situations is knowledge. It is your strength to handle adversity. When you grow in knowledge, you grow in grace, and you cannot be disgraced. Go for knowledge.

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10. (KJV)

“If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.” Ecclesiastes 10:10 (KJV)

Going for knowledge is like sharpening a blunt axe. You would no longer struggle to get results. A blunt axe requires a lot of struggle to produce results. You need financial knowledge to kill poverty and debt; if you don’t know what to do, go and learn. You need knowledge to maintain sound health and relationships. You need sound knowledge to have a successful marriage, business, and ministry. Go for knowledge on time, January is over, today is February 2, and before you know it, 2023 will be over.

In Jesus' name, may you be able to handle life's issues with adequate knowledge.

Prayer for today: Oh God, make me hungry for Your truth, in Jesus' name.
