Deal with unforgiveness!

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15 KJV

Unforgiveness is a burden that weighs down the heart and hinders the flow of God’s grace. It keeps wounds open and blocks spiritual progress. Jesus teaches that unforgiveness is a heavy load, and He invites us to lay such burdens down and find rest in Him (Matthew 11:28). The parable of the unforgiving servant shows how dangerous it is to receive mercy yet refuse to extend it to others (Matthew 18:21–35). When you hold on to unforgiveness, you imprison yourself, not the offender.

God, however, works even through painful experiences for your good and His glory. What others intend for evil, God can turn around for good, just as He did for Joseph (Genesis 50:20; Acts 7:9–10). Forgiveness frees your heart, restores your peace, and keeps you aligned with God’s purposes. Refuse to keep records of wrongs. Release others so you can walk in the fullness of God’s forgiveness and favor.

Prophetic Word: I declare that you receive grace to forgive and strength to let go. Your heart is healed, your spirit is light, and every chain of bitterness is broken. As you release others, God releases fresh mercy, peace, and restoration into your life. You are walking in freedom, and nothing will block the flow of God’s grace in you, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer: Oh God, I thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness toward me. Teach me to forgive as You have forgiven me. Heal my heart from every wound, remove every root of bitterness, and help me to release those who have hurt me. I choose to walk in love, grace, and freedom. I receive the grace to forgive fully and to live in Your peace, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
