Press into your breakthrough!

“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” Luke 16:16 KJV.

Today’s text reminds us that pressing is needed to experience a breakthrough. This speaks of a spiritual urgency and deliberate action required to enter into the fullness of God’s promises. Breakthroughs are not passive; they require force, spiritual tenacity, and unwavering resolve. As Matthew 11:12 declares, “The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” Just as a wall does not crumble with one strike of a hammer but through repeated blows, so must we persist in faith, prayer, obedience, and spiritual discipline. Every act of faith is a strike toward your breakthrough, even when it seems nothing is changing yet.

Scripture is filled with examples of determined individuals who pressed in until the breakthrough came. Jacob wrestled with the angel all night and declared, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me” (Genesis 32:26). Blind Bartimaeus cried out even louder when the crowd tried to silence him, and Jesus responded with healing (Mark 10:46–52). The woman with the issue of blood pushed through the crowd just to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, and her faith made her whole (Mark 5:25–34). Like these saints, you must (1) have a clear spiritual goal or promise, (2) take continuous steps of faith—praying, learning, obeying, declaring, and acting, and (3) keep going no matter the resistance, knowing your pressing will produce the breakthrough.

Prophetic word: Beloved, the Lord says, “Now is the time to press—not in your strength alone, but in the might of My Spirit. Though the opposition has been fierce and the delay long, I am stirring up a fresh tenacity within you. The doors that seemed locked are weakening with every cry, every prayer, every step of obedience. Do not stop now! The sound of the breakthrough is near. I am honoring your persistence. Just as the walls of Jericho fell after continual obedience and praise, so shall your barriers fall. I am giving you new strength, new strategies, and renewed vision. Press, for I am with you.” Galatians 6:9, Joshua 1:9.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the grace to press in. I receive strength for the journey and courage to keep pushing, even when resistance surrounds me. I reject every spirit of delay, discouragement, and distraction. Lord, sharpen my focus, revive my spirit, and align my steps with Your will. Like Jacob, I will not let go until You bless me. Like the woman with the issue of blood, I press through the crowd of doubt, fear, and fatigue to touch the hem of Your garment. Lord, let my pressing be met with Your power. Let the walls fall, the heavens open, and divine favor locate me. I declare by faith that my breakthrough is here, and no force of hell can stop what You have ordained. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
