Breaking contrary patterns

“And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:” Judges 6:25(KJV)

Compliments of the season to you. As we approach the beginning of a new year, it is crucial to confront the recurring patterns in our lives that hinder God's purpose. These patterns, often rooted in family or generational foundations, must be challenged and dismantled through divine insight and prayer. The story of Gideon in Judges 6:25 serves as a profound example. Gideon faced cycles of oppression and lack in his family and nation until God instructed him to confront the root cause—the altar of Baal in his father’s house. This bold act of obedience initiated a shift, empowering him to lead Israel into victory and ushering in a new season of divine favor and breakthrough. Similarly, Josiah in 2 Kings 23:4-25 exemplifies challenging ungodly patterns as he cleansed the land of idols, broke generational curses, and restored true worship in Judah.

Beloved, if you identify repetitive struggles such as stagnation, delay, or failure, it may signal the presence of contrary patterns rooted in ungodly altars or covenants. These strongholds must be torn down, just as Elijah dismantled the prophets of Baal’s altars in 1 Kings 18:36-40, calling fire from heaven to establish God's dominion. Pray fervently and declare, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). As you enter the new year, engage these prayer points with authority and faith:

  1. Father, by the blood of Jesus, I break every generational curse and pattern in my life.
  2. Holy Ghost fire, consume every evil altar standing against my progress in Jesus' name.
  3. I decree that every negative cycle in my family line ends today in Jesus' name.
  4. Oh Lord, establish me in your perfect will and release me into new dimensions of favor and victory.

May God’s grace empower you to finish every unfinished battle and step boldly into the new pattern of destiny that He has ordained for you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prophetic word: “I am the Lord your God, the Ancient of Days, who breaks the bars of iron and shatters the gates of bronze. Behold, I do a new thing in your life. The old patterns, the limitations, and the cycles that have kept you bound are broken. This is your season to experience My mercy. Tear down the altars that do not belong to me, uproot every tree that I did not plant, and declare My Word over your life. As you do this, I will establish you in a new pattern—patterns of grace, fruitfulness, and divine acceleration. The generational curses are replaced with generational blessings, and the cycles of defeat are replaced with cycles of victory. You will walk in freedom and fulfill the destiny I have written concerning you. Step into the new year with boldness, for I have already gone ahead to prepare the way of triumph. Watch as I make all things new,” says the Lord.

Where is your fire?

“I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?” Luke 12:49 (KJV)

My interpretation of our text is that Jesus is asking you where your fire is. Fire represents the presence, power, and purity of God. God Himself is described as a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). When Elijah stood against the prophets of Baal, it was the fire of God that descended and proved the supremacy of the Almighty (1 Kings 18:38). Where is your fire? As Christians, we are called to carry this divine fire to enforce God’s kingdom, bring light into darkness, and purify ourselves from all unrighteousness. If the Holy Spirit has baptized you, then the fire is within you. John the Baptist testified that Jesus would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11). Are you living in the power of that fire?

Fire refines and empowers. Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, were thrown into the fiery furnace, but instead of being destroyed, they were liberated (Daniel 3:25). That same fire became a testimony to the living God. In Acts 2:3, the fire of the Holy Spirit rested on the disciples, transforming them from fearful followers into bold witnesses for Christ. Where is your fire today? Like Elijah, call down the fire of God in prayer to consume attackers and arresters (2 Kings 1). Allow the purifying power of this fire to remove impurities and prepare you for your divine purpose. Pray fervently, fast diligently, and remain connected to the source—Jesus Christ. The fire is not just for you; it is for setting the world ablaze with God’s glory. Fan the flames and let the fire of the Holy Ghost manifest fully in your life!

Prophetic word: I declare over your life today: The fire of the Holy Ghost is reigniting within you! Every dormant flame is being fanned into a blazing fire that cannot be extinguished. You are a carrier of God’s presence, and through you, chains will be broken, lives will be transformed, and the kingdom of God will advance. The Lord says, “I am setting you ablaze for My glory, and through your life, My fire will spread to the nations.” Every obstacle in your path is consumed by this holy fire, and you will shine like refined gold. You are stepping into a season of boldness, power, and divine manifestation. Where others have seen ashes, you will bring forth beauty. Go forth as a firebrand in the hands of the Almighty, for the Lord has called you to carry His fire to a lost and dying world!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your fire that purifies, empowers, and transforms. Lord, I ask that You ignite a fresh fire in my spirit today. Let every area of my life that has grown cold or stagnant be set ablaze with passion for You. Holy Spirit, baptize me anew with Your fire and power, that I may fulfill Your purpose for my life. Let Your fire consume every sickness, bondage, and limitation standing in my way. Father, make me an agent of deliverance, just as You used Elijah and the apostles of old. I declare that my life will burn brightly for You, drawing others to Your kingdom. Lord, let Your fire spread through me, bringing revival, healing, and restoration. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

Shine your light!

“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:2(KJV)

The world is indeed shrouded in darkness, but this is the perfect stage for the light of God within you to shine brighter than ever. Isaiah 60:2 declares that though gross darkness covers the earth, the Lord will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen through you. The challenges we see—poverty, disease, and sin—are not beyond God's reach, but He has chosen to work through His people, His light-bearers, to bring solutions. Just as Joseph rose to prominence during a time of famine (Genesis 41), and Daniel’s wisdom stood out in Babylon (Daniel 1:20; Daniel 6:3), this is your time to rise and manifest God’s glory. You are the city set on a hill (Matthew 5:14-16), and the world is earnestly awaiting your revelation as a solution carrier (Romans 8:19-22).

Don’t let fear or inadequacy stop you from stepping into your divine purpose. Moses felt inadequate, yet God used him to deliver Israel (Exodus 3-4). Gideon thought he was too weak, but God called him a mighty man of valor and used him to save Israel (Judges 6:12-16). Spend time in God’s presence and receive His divine strategies for your assignment. The same God who anointed David to slay Goliath will empower you to conquer your challenges and shine for His glory. Activate the light within you through faith, prayer, and obedience to His Word. Remember, this is not just about you—it is about revealing God’s power and love to a world in desperate need. Rise up, for this is your time to manifest His glory!

Prophetic word: The Spirit of the Lord says, “This is your appointed time! I have called you out of obscurity and prepared you for such a time as this. The darkness that surrounds the earth is your opportunity to shine with My glory. Do not despise small beginnings, for I am the One who gives seed to the sower and multiplies it. I am opening doors before you that no man can shut, and I am giving you strategies, wisdom, and favor to fulfill your divine assignment. You shall arise and shine, for My light is upon you, and nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Be bold and courageous, for I am with you, and I will accomplish through you all that I have spoken.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the light You have placed within me and for calling me to shine in this season. I declare that I will arise and fulfill my divine purpose as You lead me. Father, let Your glory rest upon me and be evident in every area of my life. Empower me with wisdom, boldness, and the fire of Your Spirit to bring solutions to the challenges around me. Open my ears to hear Your voice and my heart to obey Your instructions. Lord, I ask for divine connections and favor with those who need what You have placed in me. Let my life be a testimony of Your power and grace. In Jesus’ name, I decree that no weapon formed against me will prosper, and every plan of the enemy to hinder my purpose is destroyed. Thank You, Lord, for using me for Your glory. I am ready to shine in Jesus' name. Amen!

God has an answer for you!

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:1-2 (KJV)

Let not your heart be troubled, for God has already prepared an answer for every challenge you face. Jesus assured us in John 14:1-2 that in His Father's house, there are many mansions—symbolizing endless provisions and solutions for our needs. Even before your trouble arose, God had already made a way out. Remember how He responded to Jairus in Mark 5:36, saying, “Do not fear, only believe.” Jairus trusted, and his daughter was brought back to life. Similarly, when the Israelites stood before the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army in pursuit, God parted the sea and made a way where there seemed to be none (Exodus 14:21-22). These examples show that God not only sees your situation but has already crafted a perfect solution for you.

Trust in Him, for He is faithful to answer when you call. Jesus encourages us in Matthew 7:7 to “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Just as He provided manna in the wilderness (Exodus 16:4-5) and multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed thousands (John 6:9-13), He will supply your needs and grant you victory over every trouble. I decree that your season of worry is over, and the goodness of the Lord will manifest in your life. May God crown this year with His abundance, and may His paths drop fatness upon you in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Prophetic word: I declare over your life today that the Lord will meet you at the point of your need. Every question in your heart shall be answered, and every confusion shall turn to clarity. The God who turned mourning into dancing for Jairus and gave the Israelites dry ground through the Red Sea will show Himself mighty in your situation. I prophesy that your season of waiting is over, and the heavens are opening to rain blessings upon you. The answers you seek are released now in the mighty name of Jesus. You will testify, and your joy shall be full.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You because You are the God of answers, and nothing is hidden from You. Lord, I trust in Your promise that when we call upon You, You answer us and show us great and mighty things (Jeremiah 33:3). Father, for every challenge I am facing, I ask that You release divine solutions and breakthroughs. Let every troubling situation be turned into a testimony. Open doors that no man can shut, and let Your peace rule in my heart. Crown this year with Your goodness and let my paths overflow with abundance. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Celebrating the birth of Christ

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 (KJV)

The birth of Jesus Christ is the ultimate expression of God’s love and plan to redeem humanity. Through Christ, God stepped into the world, clothing Himself in flesh, so that He could relate to us, redeem us, and restore us. John 1:14 reminds us, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.” This miraculous birth was not just an event in history; it was the beginning of God’s great mission of salvation. Jesus, born in a humble manger, came to bring hope to the hopeless, healing to the broken, and salvation to all who would believe in Him.

As we celebrate Christmas, let us remember that the heart of this celebration is giving, just as God gave His only Son to the world (John 3:16). Reflect on the call in Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus teaches that serving others—feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and visiting the sick—is as though we are serving Him directly. This Christmas, consider how you can embody the spirit of Christ by touching the lives of others. Whether it’s providing for someone in need, sharing words of encouragement, or simply being present for someone lonely, your actions can reflect the purpose of Christ’s birth: to bring light and love to a hurting world. Celebrate not just with gifts and feasts, but with acts of kindness that point others to the Savior born in Bethlehem.

Prophetic word: The Lord declares this day that as you celebrate the birth of Christ, you will experience a fresh manifestation of His love and glory in your life. Just as the light of the star led the wise men to Jesus, so will the light of God’s presence guide you into greater revelations of His purpose for you. As you honor Him through acts of kindness and service, He will multiply your resources and make you a vessel of His blessings. The same God who provided a manger for the birth of His Son will provide all you need to fulfill His assignment for your life. You are marked for abundance, peace, and joy, and this season will open doors of divine favor that no one can shut.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, whose birth brings salvation, hope, and joy to the world. We praise You for Your love that became flesh and dwelt among us. Lord, as we celebrate this season, help us to live out the purpose of Christ’s birth by touching the lives of those around us. Give us hearts of compassion and hands ready to serve. Let Your light shine through us, so that others may see Your goodness and glorify Your name. Father, bless every act of kindness and multiply the seeds we sow into the lives of others. Let this season be a time of miracles, breakthroughs, and the fulfillment of Your promises. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

The blessedness of seeing!

“And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.” Mark 10:51 (KJV)

The ability to see, both physically and spiritually, is a profound blessing that brings transformation and clarity. When Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus in Mark 10:51, his earnest plea was for sight—a gift that changed his life forever. Spiritually, seeing goes beyond physical sight; it is about receiving divine revelation from God. As we meditate on God’s Word and engage in fasting and prayer, our spiritual eyes are opened to behold the deep mysteries of His kingdom. This kind of revelation empowers us to walk in faith, overcome challenges, and claim God's promises. Consider the example of Elisha’s servant in 2 Kings 6:17. When Elisha prayed for his servant's eyes to be opened, he saw the mountain filled with horses and chariots of fire, revealing God’s protection and power. Spiritual sight gives us boldness and assurance, enabling us to triumph even in the face of great adversity.

The Bible is filled with examples of the blessedness of seeing through revelation. In Genesis 13:14–15, God told Abraham to lift his eyes and see the land He was giving him, a vision of his inheritance that fueled his faith. Similarly, Isaiah, in Isaiah 6:1, saw the Lord sitting on His throne in glory, and this vision transformed his calling and ministry. Revelation allows us to see what others cannot and positions us to align with God’s will. As you prepare to enter a new season, pray for the grace to see clearly—both the path God has laid before you and the victories ahead. Like the men and women of faith who walked in divine revelation, you will be empowered to overcome challenges and lay hold of your God-ordained destiny. May your spiritual eyes be opened, and may you walk boldly into 2025 with confidence in the Lord's promises.

Prophetic word: The Lord says, "I am opening your eyes to see what has been hidden and unveiling treasures reserved for this season. I will cause you to see opportunities in the midst of challenges, paths where there seemed to be no way, and victories in the face of battles. Like Gideon, I will reveal to you the strength within you that you do not yet see, and you will rise as a mighty warrior in My power. As I opened the eyes of Elisha’s servant to see the host of heaven surrounding him, so will I open your eyes to behold My glory, My provision, and My protection. Fear not, for with this sight comes wisdom, direction, and the assurance of My presence. You will walk in clarity, and nothing will be hidden from you that is needed for your journey. Step forward boldly; the path of victory is before you."

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the gift of spiritual sight. I ask that You open my eyes to see what You have prepared for me in this season. Reveal to me the deep things of Your Spirit and give me wisdom to walk in alignment with Your plans. Just as You revealed Your might to Elisha’s servant and Your promises to Abraham, let me behold Your hand at work in my life. Grant me the boldness to act on what You reveal and the faith to pursue the vision You give. Let every veil of confusion and fear be removed, and may I walk in the light of Your truth. Lord, as I enter the coming days, may I see opportunities, blessings, and Your presence guiding me at every step. Thank You for the assurance of victory and clarity in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!

My prayer for you!

“And the patriachs moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt but God was with him. And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and his house” Acts 7:9-10.

Joseph's life is a testament to the power of God's presence and faithfulness. Despite being sold into slavery by his own brothers (Genesis 37:28), falsely accused, and imprisoned (Genesis 39:20), Joseph remained steadfast in his commitment to God. As a result, God delivered him from all his afflictions, just as He delivered Daniel from the lions' den (Daniel 6:22) and David from Saul’s relentless pursuit (1 Samuel 23:14). Joseph's unwavering trust in God brought him favor in the sight of Pharaoh (Genesis 41:37-41), much like Esther found favor with King Ahasuerus (Esther 2:17). God also endowed Joseph with divine wisdom to interpret dreams and manage Egypt’s resources (Genesis 41:39), reminiscent of the wisdom given to Solomon (1 Kings 3:12). Ultimately, God enthroned Joseph, elevating him from the pit to the palace as governor of Egypt (Genesis 41:41-44), just as He exalted Mordecai from obscurity to prominence (Esther 10:3).

The same God who worked mightily in Joseph's life is ready to do the same for you. His Word assures us that He does not show partiality (Acts 10:34-35). Value His presence as Joseph did, keeping yourself aligned with His will and avoiding anything that displeases Him (Psalm 15:1-2). Trust in Him wholeheartedly and obey His instructions, for those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and rise above challenges (Isaiah 40:31). This month and beyond, may God's mighty hand be upon you, delivering you from afflictions, granting you favor, filling you with wisdom, and lifting you to a place of honor, just as He did for Joseph. In Jesus' name, amen!
