“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” John 19:30 KJV
When Jesus declared, “It is finished,” He was speaking of complete
victory. Nothing was left undone. The work of redemption was fully accomplished
on the cross. Every accusation against you, every debt of sin, every
handwriting of ordinances that stood against you was settled through Christ’s
sacrifice. Colossians 2:14–15 shows that by the cross, Jesus blotted out the
charges against us, disarmed principalities and powers, and triumphed over them
openly. This means your deliverance, healing, peace, righteousness, and victory
have already been secured in Him.
Because it is finished, you must not permit the enemy to put on you what
Jesus had finished. Just as the wrong child was placed before the true mother
in 1 Kings 3:21, the enemy often tries to push false burdens, fear,
condemnation, affliction, and loss upon God’s people. But you must reject every
counterfeit and stand on the finished work of Christ. The cross was a courtroom
of divine justice and eternal triumph. Through the authority of God’s Word, you
can enforce heaven’s verdict in your life. As 2 Corinthians 10:5–6 teaches,
every thought, argument, and rebellion must be brought into obedience to
Christ.
Prophetic Word: I
declare that you will walk in the full reality of Christ’s finished work. Every
battle that has lingered against your life is subject to the victory of the
cross. Every accusation, bondage, fear, and oppression is overturned by the
blood of Jesus. You shall enforce your covenant rights with boldness, and no
counterfeit work of the enemy shall stand in your life. What Christ finished
for you shall no longer show up in your life in Jesus’ name.
