“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure:” Philippians 2:13 KJV
I will be combining our text with Ephesians 3:20 to deal with the subject of the power of God in you. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Both texts confirmed that the power of God is at work in every believer. The power can generate both willingness and obedience in us if we align ourselves with His good pleasure. Also, our testimony depends on the extent to which we allow His power to work in us, not really on our asking and thinking, as important as they are. So let us examine “His good pleasure.”
The first “good pleasure” I want us to examine is faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” If you have faith in God (Mark 11:22-24), you are positioning yourself to experience the power of God in you and through you (Matthew 17:19-20, Acts 14:9-10). If you can hear God and act upon His word, the power of God will work in you more than what you are capable of (John 2:5, Luke 5:4-6).
Prophetic
Word: I decree that your life is pleasing unto God,
and you shall experience the manifestation of His power in every area of your
life, in Jesus’ name.
Prayer: O Lord my God, draw me closer to You. Create in me a deep hunger for
Your presence and power. Plant unshakable faith within me, that I may
experience the fullness of Your power in every area of my life this year and
beyond, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
