Last but best!

“…. but thou hast kept the good wine until now.” John 2:10

You can actually take action steps to make these last days in 2023 the best of this year. It is clear from the scriptures that when you engage God in your time and season, you will always get the best. The question is, how do you engage God as the year is running to an end? First, be thankful. God dwells in an atmosphere of gratitude, and you need His presence to give you the best (Psalm 100). Secondly, Be faithful. Unbelief and unfaithfulness keep God away. You must believe God’s promises and act on His instructions (Hebrew 11:6; 1Cor. 4:2). Thirdly, Be watchful. Don’t allow the devil to play an end-of-year trick on you. Be sensitive to the opportunities God is giving you. Be discerning (Mark 13:33).

“Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.” Psalm 68:19

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

Fourthly, be expectant. Expect miracles daily. Expectation gives birth to manifestation (Act 3:5). Lastly, be violent with the devil. Don’t permit the devil to postpone the blessing meant for you this year to another time. You must take all that God has assigned to you this year (Matthew 11:12).

This is your season of celebration, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, give me both unexpected and expected miracles before the end of this year, in Jesus’ name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Realizing the promises 2

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49

Powerlessness is one of the reasons why people fail to experience the promises of God in their lives. When you receive power, you obtain the promises without hinderance. Satan has been holding what belongs to many because of their powerlessness. If you can tarry in God’s presence, you will have power. Perhaps there are some of your expectations that have been unnecessarily delayed, ask God to endue you with power from on high.

“And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.” Genesis 27:40

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

It takes power to bind the strongman and take what he stole from you (Matthew 12:29). As a child of God, you have the keys of the kingdom that give you access to power—power to bind and to loose. Most Christians are powerless because they don’t tarry in God’s presence. They prefer to watch TV rather than spend time in His presence. If you really desire to see the enemy submit to you and surrender what he is withholding from you, you must receive power.

Receive power, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, endue me with power from on high, in Jesus’ name.

Realizing the promises 1

“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” Number 13:30-31

Never give up on God’s promises, no matter the opposition or your limitations. Even the promises of God for you this year will still be fulfilled. However, you must remain positive and never doubt that God is committed to fulfilling His promises. Remaining positive about the promise of God in the face of great and difficult opposition is key to realizing the promises. God is bigger than the opposition. God is true to His word and committed to His promises. Insist on seeing the fulfilment of what God has promised you, and the opposition will give way. Caleb told the people to remain positive by neglecting the giants and believing in God. He got the Promised Land despite the fact that the giants were there and were truly stronger than the people.

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Think of these: (1) anything that is born of God has the potential to overcome any opposition in this world. (2) The God in you is greater than all the forces of hell in this world. If you believe these two biblical truths, then you can remain positive that the promises of God will come to pass in your life. You will not be swallowed up in your present challenges.

May you be confident in God’s promises despite the challenges facing you, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for today: I receive the fulfilment of God’s promises for this year, in Jesus’ name.

PUSH!

“Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.,” Hebrews 12:12-13

Don't let anyone deceive you; the evidence that prayer is enough is that something has happened. You have not actually prayed too much if you have not experienced the change you desire.  Prayer must be a significant part of our lives. Prayer must not be underrated. If you are through with prayer, you are through with living. Pray until something happens (PUSH). When something happens, pray until great things happen.

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 18:1

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

The place where sadness is turned to joy, disappointment to an appointment, depression to upliftment, weakness to strength, is the place of prayer. The place of prayer is where you receive help when you have no man. If the enemy has not shut your mouth in prayer, he cannot have the final say over your life. I say to you this morning: pray, pray, pray again, and again pray, then your joy shall be full.

You will not faint at the altar of prayer, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for today: I call in my harvest of prayer, in Jesus’ name.

It shall be well

“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Genesis 50:20

What the enemy meant for evil, God shall turn to good. Do not focus too much on what the enemy is doing; focus on your goal and see God using your enemy for you all the way. Your enemy can help you get to your destination if you understand that he or she does not have the final say about your life. The truth is that some of us need ‘good enemies’ to be who God wants us to be. Joseph would have stayed permanently with his father if not for the fact that he was sold to the Ishmeelites by his brothers. He would have stayed permanently with Potiphar if not for the lies of Potiphar’s wife against him.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

“And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb. And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.” 1 Samuel 1:6-7

Anna would have been content with a double portion of food if not for the provocation of Peninnah. Her positive response to that provocation gave her Samuel and six more children. Many of us would not have known the power of God if not for the fact that we were faced with adversaries and situations that were stronger than us.

May your enemy become your stepping stone to your glory, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, what the enemy meant for evil, turn it to good for me, in Jesus’ name.

Good things!

“Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.” Psalm 103:5

This December will bring good things into your life in Jesus’ name. When you are satisfied with good things, you look younger than your actual age, and your strength is renewed. This is God’s will for your life. When Jesus Christ was physically present on earth, he attended wedding ceremonies and religious and social festivals. He showed concern about people’s feeding and even fed multiple people twice miraculously. At the marriage in Cana of Galilee, they had the best wine towards the end of the marriage because Jesus gave them good things. Beloved, God wants to give you the best of this year in December because He wants you to enjoy all the blessings of life in fullness. He wants you to also be a blessing to others.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17

“Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.” Psalms 85:12

Has anything good eluded you in any of the last eleven months? Put a demand on the devil to loose his hold on your good things because this December must deliver. There is no carryover into the New Year. Also, if you have yet to give your life to Jesus, this is your month. You must repent and ask Jesus to come into your life. The blessing of salvation will open your life to other kingdom blessings. This month must deliver for you good things.

I ask God to give you multiple testimonies this month, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, satisfy my mouth with good things and renew my years like the eagle’s, in Jesus’ name.

Personal retreat

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

One of the secrets of champions is that they know how to use personal retreat to enforce their advancement. As a believer, you must learn to retreat in order to conquer and advance. The time of retreat is when you wait on the Lord to renew your strength. It is the time you receive fresh light and fresh fire for new destiny conquest. This was the secret of David; he knew how to retreat to conquer. When his father threw him into the bush, he converted it to a retreat. He perfected his shepherd skills, his sling and stone skills, his harp skills, and his ability to trust in the Lord. He came out of his retreat to kill Goliath.

“And when David enquired of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.” 2 Samuel 5:23

“Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.” 1 Samuel 16:18

A retreat is not only about praying and fasting. You can meditate on God’s word to know Him more and increase your faith. You can go back to the classroom to learn new skills to advance your career and financial life. You can read new books and watch new videos for personal development. You can seek God for direction and strategy for your goals and vision.

May you find time for personal retreat, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, renew my strength for greater exploits, in Jesus’ name.
