Dealing with afflictions 5

“He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.” Matthew 10:41

The final key in dealing with affliction is taking care of the person who has spiritual leadership over your life. Honoring your Pastor through giving in any form is a way of leveraging on the anointing and the grace that God has put upon him to deal with your affliction. Even if you don’t have any affliction to deal with, honoring your Pastor connects you to the blessing God put on his ministry. This is called venison. Isaac told Esau to bring him some venison so that his soul may bless him.

“And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.” Luke 8:3

“And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.” 2 Kings 4:9-10

Honor your Pastor regularly at your level and God shall bless you. Some people ministered to Jesus of their own substances. The Shunamite woman perceived that Elisha was a Man of God and decided to make him comfortable. She did not even consider herself to be in need of a child anymore, but God visited her and gave her a child. Be generous to your Pastor.

May you be visited in this new month in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, meet me at the point of my need in Jesus name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Dealing with afflictions 4

“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.” James 5:13

If you can pray, your affliction cannot live. Prayer is key to ending any affliction no matter how deep and stubborn it is. If you are finding it difficult to pray, get in agreement with someone who can pray. Put yourself in an atmosphere of prayer and praise.  Attend church services and get involved in intercession.  Sometimes you may need to intercede for people going through similar affliction for you to receive your own deliverance.

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.” Acts 16:25-26

“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job 42:10

Demonically inspired affliction cannot survive the heat of the Holy Spirit. Prayer generates the heat and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The time of affliction is not a time to run helter-skelter or run from God.  It is a time to draw close to God in prayer and in faith. You may also need to add fasting to the prayer.

No affliction will cross into May 2022 with you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I call upon God to deliver me from all my affliction in Jesus name.

Dealing with afflictions 3

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” 2 Corinthians 4:13

Your victory against any affliction begins with your tongue. You must speak boldly and confidently against the affliction in your life. You must tell it what to do. Your tongue determines whether your affliction will live or die. God’s strategy to deal with things and situations is to speak. Your breakthrough is in your mouth.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39

Please don’t keep quiet when the enemy is assaulting your life with affliction. Also, don’t speak for your affliction, speak against it. Tell it to die, and don’t stop until it dies. Don’t be intimidated by the situation, but take charge by speaking your expectation. The advantage of the New Testament believer is that he or she can speak in the name of Jesus.

Your affliction must die in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: I speak against the affliction in my life, and I command it to die in Jesus name.

Dealing with afflictions 2

“They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” Psalms 125:1

God does not send affliction into your life. Satan is the origin of all affliction. The good news is that Jesus is made manifest to destroy the work of Satan. Now affliction is a test of your strength. Your true strength is your ability to trust the Lord and walk in His wisdom. If you do trust Him and walk in His wisdom, you will be able to withstand any affliction the enemy may throw at you. If you trust the Lord, He will direct your path to victory and you cannot be removed.

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” Matthew 7:24

The true indicator of your trust in God is your decision and action to turn to Him for help. Ask Him to help you and deliver you from your affliction. Don’t leave until you have an answer because those who trust Him will not leave His presence in haste (Is 28:16). They will wait until their change comes and the affliction is over (Job 14:14). Meanwhile, Satan does not want you to turn to the Lord when afflictions come because He knows that your victory is guaranteed if you do.

Your affliction is over in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, I trust you, help me in Jesus name.

Dealing with afflictions 1

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” Psalms 34:19

When affliction or trouble comes, three things are important. These are your position in Christ Jesus, the word of God concerning afflictions, and the wisdom of God that has made available to you. Afflictions do come to all, it is not a matter of sin or no sin alone. However, God has promised to deliver the righteous from all. So if you have become the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus, rejoice, because your affliction cannot last, God is dealing with it.

“For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Psalm 50:15

When affliction comes, remember that you are surrounded by favor, God is there with you to deliver you, call upon Him. Ask God to tell you what you should do, don’t depend on your own wisdom, seek God's wisdom. God’s presence and wisdom are there for you to overcome. You shall surely outlast your afflictions, no affliction can outlast you.

Your affliction is over in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, deliver me from all my afflictions in Jesus name.

God meant what He said!

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19

God cannot and does not lie, He means what He says, He says what He means. He has exalted His word more than His name. Whether written or spoken, God is committed to His word. If you have heard God, then you have a breakthrough. His words and His promises are yes and amen. If you have received a word from the Lord, be confident that He will fulfill it.

“And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38

“As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.” Mark 5:36

If you desire a miracle you have to receive and believe the word of God that comes to you. When He told Mary that she would be pregnant as a virgin, she simply believed and received. When He told Jairus to just believe, Jairus did and received His daughter back. What God has said concerning you and your situation shall be fulfilled.

You are coming out of all your trouble in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let Your word come to me in Jesus name.

Let the Lord shepherd you

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” Psalms 23:1-2

Have ever related with a trusted guide or teacher? All you have to do is to hear and follow his or her instruction to get to your destination or achieve success. A shepherd to sheep relationship demands that the sheep hear and adhere to the instruction of the shepherd. As long as the sheep does that, it does not have to worry about provision. If the Lord shepherds you, your provision is guaranteed.

“And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.” John 10:4

“Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.” Isaiah 48:17

The Lord is willing to lead and teach you, but you must humble yourself as a sheep before the shepherd. You must know His voice and follow His voice. To know someone’s voice, a personal relationship or fellowship is needed. Beloved, be desperate for the voice of the Lord, spend time with the Word, pray, and tune in to the Holy Spirit. When you do, write down what comes to your heart. You are one instruction away from your breakthrough.

May you hear and obey the voice of the Lord in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, I am Your sheep, shepherd me in Jesus name.
