Your choice, your life 1

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;” Deuteronomy 30:19

Our lives are direct results of our choices. Any time you make a choice, you have determined your life. The right choices are based on the truth. The depth of information you have, the depth of your thinking, and your ability to foresee the consequences of the options will always determine your choice in life. Most times, there will not a clear-cut evidence of what a choice will bring. This means digging may be needed to make the right choice. For example the choice of who to marry, where to live, and what career to take. Your choice will either bring you life or death.

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

“Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.” Genesis 13:11

When there are options before you and you need to make one choice. There are criteria you can use. These include God test, knowledge test, love test, and time test. I will be sharing each of these in the next four days with you. May God guide you to make the right choice in life in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to make the right choice as I go about my daily life in Jesus name.

Call to Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

The power of thinking

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.” Proverbs 23:7

The thought in your heart is the life you experience.  Anything you see in your life has existed at least in the realm of your thought. Even if it has been in the spirit realm, it has to enter your thought realm before it can manifest in your life. The power to change your life is in your thinking. Whatever that can change your thinking pattern has the power to change your life pattern. The seat of your thinking is your mind. You will have to take care of your mind if you really want to take care of your life.

“And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.” Hebrews 11:15

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

How do you control your thinking and harness its power to change your life? By taking control of what you feed into your mind. Your mind has two major gates, the eyes and the ears. The book you read, the movies you watch, the company you keep, and the voice you listen to have direct access to your mind and shape your thinking. Your thinking must be in the direction of creativity, faith, and possibilities to handle the challenges in today’s world.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let my mind be open to creativity, faith, and possibilities in Jesus name.

Walking with God 5

“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” 2 Timothy 2:4

Our walk with God is like a soldier in the military. Focus, discipline, endurance, and total obedience are some of the characteristics that are seen in the life of a trained and committed soldier. A soldier defends the kingdom both in the time of war and in the time of peace. More importantly, they are not carried away by other affairs, but live to please the one who has recruited them. The reward of an earthly soldier is limited to the physical world alone, but our reward is both temporal and eternal.

“And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12:47-48

“And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

The good news about being a soldier of the Lord is that as long as we are in tune with the signal from our commander, we will live in security, enjoy His provision and experience victory. In our walk with the Lord, the most important thing in our life is what the Spirit is saying to us at all times. It is of utmost importance to be in tune with the voice of the Spirit and to obey promptly.

Prayer for today: Oh God help me to be attentive to the voice of Your Spirit at all times in Jesus name.

Walking with God 4

“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15

Pastors are spiritual mentors who help people to walk with God. You must not be without the Pastor that God has chosen from His heart to mentor you if you want to walk with God. If you are convinced that God put you under such a Pastor, you must obey him as if God has spoken for you to walk with God. Pastors are imperfect human beings in whom God has put His word and His spirit for people to grow in faith (2 Cor 4:7). If you are under the Pastor that God chose for you, your destiny is secured.

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:” Ephesians 4:11-12

“And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,” Acts 9:10-11

After God arrested Saul, who later became Paul, on the road to Damascus, He assigned him a Pastor so that he can grow. Angels will not do the work of men in your spiritual walk. Men are like Angels when God assigned them to your life. Your walk with God starts when you gave your heart to Jesus, but it does not end there. You must grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus continuously as long as you are alive. May you receive the guidance you need for your spiritual walk with God.

Prayer for today: Oh God help me to locate the men You have positioned to help me in my walk with You in Jesus name.

Walking with God 3

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Romans 8:6-7

It is necessary for you to be in control of your flesh, if you have chosen to walk with God. It is your responsibility to yield to the Holy Spirit and His voice in your life. You must discipline your flesh to take charge of your behavior so that the fullness of God comes to you. You cannot accept the way of the world, you are different. You cannot be a fornicator, a thief, or afflicter of your neighbor.  Even if the world accepts a behavior to be normal, if it is against God, you cannot engage in it.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Cor 6:14

Walking with God is a lonely but highly rewarding adventure. You see a lot of Christians are living in fear today, they are not even sure of what God could and would do. If you walk with God, you will live a life of peace and victory even in the midst of storms and battles. See how Daniel slept in the Lion den and he did not stop to pray even when threatened. See how the three Hebrews youth refused to bow despite the fact that they were going to be thrown into a furnace. Our major care at this time in this world is both good and healthy living. God is able to provide us with both if we walk with Him.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let me walk with You in this dark world in Jesus name.

Walking with God 2

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6

If you have chosen to walk with God, you must desire the fullness of His Spirit. It takes the Spirit to have access into the logo (the written word) to get the Rhema (the spoken word) that gives the power to operate in the supernatural. It takes the Spirit to have access to the mystery of the kingdom of God because only the parables are available on the surface. The parable cannot help anyone in his or her walk with God.

“And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.” Mark 4:11-12

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John6:63.

I have met many people who can quote the letters of the scriptures but they are not walking with God. The letter kills but the spirit gives life (2 Cor 3:6). The spoken word is the Spirit and the life that every Christian needs to walk with God. It is dark right now in the world and it is going to get darker. But, for you as a Christian, if you walk with God, you will not only walk in the light but you will be the light.

Prayer for today: Oh God fill me with the Holy Spirit and power in Jesus name.

Walking with God 1

“He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.” Psalm103:7

If you have chosen to walk with God, your heart’s desire will be to know His ways and to walk in them. If you know His ways and walk in them, He will walk with you and you will become a channel through whom His acts will be demonstrated. The ways of the Lord are first revealed in His written word. You cannot claim to desire to walk with God without a passion for the logos, the written word.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105

Beloved, we are at the end of times, it will become tougher to be a Christian. Only those who walk with God will make it. You will have to be filled with the knowledge of His word so that it will not difficult for you to make decisions and to choose what to do in the face of oppositions and persecutions. If you truly walk with Him, victory is guaranteed.

Prayer for today: Oh God hold my hand and let me walk with You in Jesus name.
