Great grace 2

“And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.” Luke 5:10

Our text this morning were the words of Jesus to a man who had failed in catching fish, his main business. Jesus told him that he would be catching men. That is the operation of great grace that only Jesus can give to the life of men. Act 4:13 says, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Even people in the days of the bible knew that unusual grace was contacted by people who had been with Jesus.

Now hear this, this great grace is available for you to fulfil your God-given assignment whether spiritual or physical. You can be a businessman, a teacher, an engineer, a preacher, a husband, a wife, etc, full of great grace. Your status does not matter, when you contact great grace, you become a wonder both to yourself and to people around you. When you spend time with Jesus and you get a vision or a word from Him and you believe it, you access a great grace. I have been a preacher almost all my life. I never thought I could get higher degrees in chemical engineering but God spoke to me. The rest is history, I got an award for the best Master’s student in chemical engineering and now I am graduating with a doctoral degree in chemical engineering. In 2011, a dead child was brought in the midst of a crowd to our church. I did not want to pray but God spoke to me. The rest is history; the boy is living till today.

May God speak to you today, may you access great grace, may your failure turn to success in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God I choose to live by grace alone, grant me access into your great grace in every area of my life in Jesus name.

Great grace 1

"And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” Act 4:33
The bible mentioned saving grace and great grace. Both are the gift of God. Both are divine ability in human being. Just like all the work of God in any man, both also work through faith. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Saving grace brings a man into the family of God, great grace brings him into the supernatural of God. God’s throne is gracious and makes mercy available to everyone who comes to Him (Hebrews 4:16). Jesus the Son of God is said to be full of grace (John 1:14,16-17). When a man comes in contact with Jesus, he enters the realm of unlimited grace. First he experiences saving grace and then as he grows in knowledge of Him, he will experience great grace. 1 Peter 3:18 says, “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.”
Let me quickly mention also another type of grace which I call the common grace, so that you can easily understand how to access great grace. If you want to have grace to work as a doctor, what do you do? You acquire knowledge in medicine. Common grace comes by common knowledge. Great grace comes by the knowledge of God and His words. You must hear about Jesus, confess and believe Him to access saving grace. When you have a deeper knowledge of God’s word in any area, you receive grace to walk in that area. Be it healing, prosperity, success and all supernatural act of God in the realm of men. Access into the mystery of God’s word is access into great grace of God.
May you experience great grace from God in Jesus name.

Reaching out to Jesus 2

“When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.” Mark 5:27-29

Jesus is with you and can be reached right now. The barriers today are not the crowd of people but unbelief, un-forgiveness and sin.

In the Acts of Apostles, words are important in reaching out to Jesus after His death, resurrection and ascension into heaven. Faith filled words, faith based prayers, faith based declarations were the instruments used in experiencing the supernatural just as if Jesus was physically present. Paul did not have physical contact with Jesus but did miracles, signs and wonders on behalf of Jesus using these instruments. He told Bar-Jesus that he would be blind for a season and it happened. He commanded a lame man to stand up straight on his feet and the lame man did. He once declared to a crowd of people who had given up hope of living because of the storms on the sea that they would all be saved and they were all saved from death.

Beloved, your declaration in speaking and in praying are important instruments in reaching out to Jesus on your behalf and on behalf of others. Let us begin to see the manifestation of His power today as in the scriptures as we pray and decree by faith in His name.

May you see the supernatural in your life and in the life of people around you as you activate your faith in His name.

Prayer for today: I decree that all oppositions are giving way as I carry out my assignments this week in Jesus name.

Reaching out to Jesus 1

“Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”” Mark 2:4-5

When Jesus was physically present here on earth, many people sought to touch him or to get in contact with Him for solutions to their problems. You remember the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5 and similar stories. After Jesus left, the book of Acts of the Apostles revealed that He could still be touched or contacted for solutions to human problems. Peter said that by faith in His name the lame man at the beautiful temple was made whole (Acts 3:16). I believe that today, we are blessed to have Jesus with us in the Spirit. He is everywhere and can be touched by anyone. Everyone at everywhere can contact Him today for solutions to their problems.

In our text, four men broke through the barriers to get their sick friend to Jesus. The question is what is preventing people to reach out to Jesus today. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” The first barrier that must be broken is the barrier of unbelief. You must be convincingly convinced that Jesus is with you right now and can provide solutions to your problems. Those men were so confident that Jesus was the solution that they broke through the roof to reach Him. Don’t let unbelief stop you, go all the way and reach out to Him in faith.

Beloved, Jesus is with you right now, reach out to Him in faith for a lasting solution to all your problems.

Prayer for today: As I reach out to you Lord Jesus, touch me with your healing and deliverance power. Let all my needs be met in Jesus name.

The necessity of resting

“And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” Genesis 2:3

There is always temptation to continue to push towards targets and forget about resting. We need to remind all hard workers that resting is part of work. When we fail to give our body adequate rest, we expose it to unnecessary attacks. Nothing on earth is made to work non-stop even your body as well. Most of us take care of our properties more than we take care of our bodies. A man of God advised that one should rest in order to avoid being laid to rest. We are always excited to achieve our goals and take on another one but we must also remember that we should not damage our bodies on the way.

The bible says even God rested from His work on the seventh day. So you think you are a super human and can handle everything without resting. You must think twice because you cannot be more super than God. If God needed to rest, you too definitely need to rest. You may not do it every seventh day but make sure you always get adequate rest for your body.

May God give you wisdom to take care of your body for long life on earth.

Prayer for today: I refuse to be foolish in dealing with my body, I shall not die before my time in Jesus name.

Be determined to follow Jesus

“Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” John 6:67-6

Be determined to follow Jesus, there are rewards both on earth and in heaven (mark 10:20-30). Be determined to know His person and His principles, and walk in them. Join the assembly of likeminded believers and be committed, have a spiritual mentor to guide you, study the word of God, be involved in preaching the gospel and be led by the Spirit of God. Never give up following Jesus. Don’t change church because of discipline, God disciplines those He loves (Rev 3:19)

Many things are contending with our faith today but we must be determined to follow Jesus to the end. The world hates us because we do not agree with her ways but we depend on the wisdom of God to scale through the hurdles. There are also battles within. 1 John 2:16, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” We must conquer these battles and follow through with Jesus. In our text today, some disciples left Jesus. Don’t leave Jesus, be determined to continue with Him.

You will not fall by the way side in this noble and profitable faith in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: Holy Spirit, keep me through the journey of life as a believer and disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Power of determination

“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:  Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.” Ruth 1:16-18

Determination is a key factor to follow through on any dream or vision. If your determination is shaky you may not have enough strength to go all the way. If you are not determined, you can be easily convinced to give up on your pursuit. Some people will want to convince you that it will not work. Your situation may want to tell you that it will not work. Even the challenges on the way may want to tell you that you have chosen a wrong path. But if you are determined, you will follow through.

Ruth was determined to follow Naomi despite the calamities that befell her. I would not know how she got convinced that she had a future with Naomi. But the moment she sensed that it was the direction to follow, she became steadfast in her mind to go with her. The rest is history; she became the great grand mother of Jesus Christ. Now listen, if you are looking for an escape route from your dream, you will find it. Alternatives are enemies of determination. If you keep dropping the ball whenever there is a challenge, you will waste years. When you have found something to do with your life, be determined to follow through.

May you be a success in your chosen endeavors in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God help me so that I may be determined to follow through on your vision for my life in Jesus name.
