Abide with Jesus

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5

The greatest regret a man can have in this life is to live without God. If you think you can do without Jesus, you will not abide with Him. But the truth is this, life becomes vanity without Jesus. You cannot fulfil the purpose of God for your life without Jesus. You may be tempted to substitute Jesus with the things of this life. This happens when someone who claims to be a Christian does not have time for personal fellowship with Him and has no care for His words. Such a person is not useful for Kingdom expansion because he cannot bring forth fruit. Abiding with Jesus will give you a fruitful life now and in eternity.

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13

“Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.” Job 23:12

Now to abide with Him means you make Him first in your life. You set aside time daily with Him in prayers and His word. You become hungry for His instruction for your life. You esteem His word more than anything in this life. You join in fellowship with others and you continually learn at His feet. Jesus told Matta in Luke 10: 41-42, “thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” If you spend time with Jesus, you will have His word. And if you have His word you will be fruitful and not troubled with the cares of this word.

May the grace of God abide with you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God Let your presence be with me and make me fruitful in life and in destiny in Jesus name.

Salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe in the forgiveness of sin and in the redemption from the power of darkness through your blood. I confess you as my Savior and Lord.  I invite you into my life to save my soul. Holy Spirit, come into my heart and make me what you want me to be. Thank you Lord for saving me in Jesus name.

Never despise people

“Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.” Mark 6:3

Everyone has something to offer, and you will always need at least the right person in your life to reach your goal. It is important for you to know what a man can do for you and take it. If you look down on any man because of his status or because of what he used to be, you may miss his contribution to your life. The people from the hometown of Jesus missed what He could do for them because they despised Him. They could not comprehend that the man who was their carpenter now has the wisdom and the power of God.

“And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights1 Samuel 30:12

“And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.” 2 Kings 5:3

There are three ways to this. Even when you think a man is at his lowest in life, if you can do anything to bring him up, do it, because he may be your agent of recovery in the future. Just as that dying man was an agent of total recovery for David. The second is that even a poor person can give you a word of wisdom such as the Hebrew slave who told Naaman that he could go to the Prophet in Israel and get healed. And thirdly, the wisdom of a man who has been to where you want to go may be all you need to get there.

May you not miss any man who is important for your destiny in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God give me the grace to identify the role of any person you have brought into my life in Jesus name.

Opportunities abound

“Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.” Ecclesiastes 5:9

The earth is full of profit for all. The earth is a playing field for all including Kings. Where people are, there are problems to be solved. Where people are, money is changing hands. Where people are, there are needs to be met. Only people who see and take the opportunity enjoy the profit that the earth brings. May your eyes be opened to see an opportunity that will change your life today.

“Again I looked throughout the earth and saw that the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous; but it is all by chance, by happening to be at the right place at the right time.” Ecc 9:11 (TLB)

“And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” 1 Samuel 17:26

No matter how strong or skillful you are it is your ability to identify and appropriate opportunities that bring a difference in your life. Focused looking, focused thinking, focused reading, asking the right questions, meeting the right people, praying correctly are your keys to access the opportunities that are around you. Don’t be satisfied with your present level. Don’t let your present challenges blindfold you. Focus your efforts on getting the opportunities that are around you. Ask God to lead and guide you. You are an opportunity away from a turnaround breakthrough.

May your eyes be opened to see the opportunities around you in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God open new doors of opportunities to me in Jesus name.

Build your confidence

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.” Hebrews 10:35

If your confidence is broken, your reward is broken. Build your confidence first in God and then in yourself. The enemy will try to break your confidence by instilling fear in you. He knows that if you are confident, there is no limit to what you can do. Stop listening to people who tell you that you cannot do it and give you the reason why. Hang around people who know God and who have confidence that there is no limit to what He can do through them. Confidence is contagious, so also fear is contagious.

“Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.” 1 Samuel 17:

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

Think about this, if you are confident that the unlimited God is backing you, what would you not do? Ordinarily I would not have dared to enroll for a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering 20 years after my first degree except for the fact that I heard God and I was confident He was behind me. I came out as the overall best in the whole university at graduation. Beloved, spend time with God, and also get informed to build your confidence. You need it in such a time like this.

May you have the confidence to start a new thing in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God strengthen me to do all that you have laid in my heart to do in Jesus name.

Follow-through

“And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.” 2 Kings 13:19

Never leave any stone unturned to reach your goals. Never allow any setback to stop you. Follow through all the steps you have identified will get you there. Oversee and manage each step until you complete the process. If you need to read a book, do it and finish it. If you need to attend a class, do it and complete it. If you need to knock on a door many times, do it until it opens. If you have assigned a task to someone, follow through with him. Following through demands that you don’t stop until you get through. Following through demands that you finish what you started, even in prayers.

“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:” Ruth 1:16

“Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.” Luke 18:5

You know why we are reading about Ruth today, she followed through. Orpha dropped out. The persistent widow in Luke 18 too followed through. She was not willing to stop until she got what she wanted. The joy of finishing a task makes following through a worthwhile adventure. In anything you plan to do, follow through to get through.

May you have a breakthrough today in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God give me the grace to follow through on my assignments in Jesus name.

Just do it!

“So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; …...” Genesis 12:4

You may not feel like doing it, but if it is the right thing to do and at the right time force yourself to do it. Most time the flesh may want to tell you that it is not convenient right now and that you should postpone to another time. If it is the right thing to do, go ahead and do it. You may be compromising the present convenience, but the joy of fulfilment that success brings will swallow the inconvenience. Abraham the Father of faith was known for prompt actions. Most of the things he immediately took action on were not convenient, but we celebrate him today and connect to his blessing.

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:17

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” Luke 5:5-6

Calculated risk-taking and prompt action are game-changer for anyone. When you have prayed and fasted, you cannot fold your arms. You must act on the ideas that are coming to you. Stop procrastination. Stop waiting for a perfect condition. A little light is enough. A little hand of cloud was what brought the rain in Israel in 1 Kings 18. If Peter had refused to take action immediately he would have missed the blessing of an unusual harvest of fish. Take action today towards a change you desire and you shall be glad you did.

May you be provoked to do something new today in Jesus name.

Prayer for today: O God give me boldness to take necessary action for a change of story in Jesus name.

One day at a time

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

In this month of going forward I will be sharing daily action steps that can advance your life and destiny.

The first step is taking one day at a time. It does not matter how big your goal or your vision is, if you do something about it daily you will conquer it. You can eat and finish an elephant, if you are taking it piece by piece. Breaking your activities into steps and dealing with each step at a time can help you finish a giant project on time. Someone said you could always divide the project (the vision) into smaller ones and conquer them. If you make your day count, your entire life will count.

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23

“Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.” Exodus 16:4

Winning in life is a daily affair. Personal development is a daily affair. Breakthrough is a daily affair. In order to handle a lifetime well, you only have to learn to handle a day well.  Sit down, think, pray, and decide what you must do daily in order to achieve your goals.

May you experience success daily in Jesus name. Happy new month

Prayer for today: O God give me the wisdom to handle every day of my life successfully in Jesus name.
