Handling Threats

“but THAT IT SPREAD NO FURTHER among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name” Acts 4:17 (emphasis mine)

Your progress is an offense to oppositions. Whenever you see or receive a threat from the enemy, it is time to act in boldness. Beyond every threat is the opportunity to get better results so if you give in to threat you miss greatly.

Peter and John healed a lame man and the enemy could not contest that it was a notable miracle. They could say nothing against it nor could they deny it. But they decided to threaten them so that they could prevent them from further good work. The disciples responded with boldness and decided to forge ahead in obedience to God.

Beloved, don’t surrender your good work to threat; persistence will always weary resistance, so go forward.

Power of Instruction

“Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old” Mathew 15:52

Mediocrity is an evidence of lack of instruction. A man instructed in a thing will have a mastery of that thing. A man instructed unto the kingdom of heaven will have a mastery of this life. Circumstances are the rulers of the weak but instrument of the wise; when you are instructed, you use your circumstances to achieve your goal.

When you are instructed, there is no knot too difficult to untie. You will have answers to both old and new problems. You will be holder of treasures and be a blessing to many. Excellence is a product of instruction. When you lack excellence in any area of your life, seek instruction in that area.

No more life’s beating!

“And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes, But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes….” Luke 12:47-48

Whether with many or few stripes, I don’t want any life’s beating. I believe you don’t either.

Although there are challenges in life, you don’t have to be beaten. God wants me to reveal to you the divine covering zone, a place of safety and that is right at the center of His will.

Our text revealed that people that get beaten in life are either ignorant of His will or are disobedient to His will. The latter gets many stripes. Our labor should be directed to knowing His will for every situation and doing it. If you do this I can assure you, you can’t get beaten by life’s challenges.

As we enter into the second quarter of 2010, I pray for grace for you to stay in the center of His will for your life.

The Secret of better future

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Gal. 6:9

Your future is the harvest of seeds sown today. If you want a better future, keep on sowing good seeds and keep the tares away.

Now the first thing you need to establish is the vision of the future you desire and then continue to sow seeds of prayer towards the vision. The harvest of sowing seeds of prayer is supernatural manifestations. Results of prayer are usually more than what the man that prayed can handle.

Secondly you must carefully sow seeds in your thoughts, words and actions that are focused on the future you desire. Whatever is in your life today was in your thought life yesterday, so never fill your thought life with what you don’t want, only think on what you want in life. Mind what you say, words are seeds. Never speak negatively, whatever fill your words will eventually manifest in your life. Work towards your goal, be an “addict tither,” it is the secret of abundance. Someone said 5persons must be blessing you regularly for you to have a better future and I agree with him. They are God, your spouse, your Pastor, your Parents and the poor; give to them.

Lastly keep the tares away. The tares are unbelief, the future you don’t believe you cannot experience; disobedience, a man who walks in disobedience is a foolish man (1Sam 13:13); unforgiveness, if you don’t forgive men, God will not forgive you.

You will experience greatness this year in Jesus name.

Let him do it first!

“And the king said unto her, what aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat: and she hath hid her son” 2Kings 6:28-29.

When someone gives you a risky counsel, ask him to do it first. This will reveal the motive behind the counsel. If the counsel is evil, reject it outrightly no matter the circumstances.

The woman in our text was given an evil, irrevocably risky counsel and she foolishly acted on it because of the pressure of famine. She lost her son 48hours before miracle came to the land. Always remember that when you take a counsel, you also take the consequences. If she had asked the woman to do it first, that would have ended the counsel. This is because the woman gave the counsel for selfish reason.

As you go about your business this week, you will not act wrongly in Jesus name.
